Drove over  no melt downs  seems to be an internet issue.

so 4 avalons         offline  = 27th
1 new pangolian   offline  = 11th
3 s-9's                 offline  = 40th

78th down since  2am  about six hours.

I will be troubleshooting it.

you need a dual WAN router for two internet connections, have a fail over connection automatically.

Yes some routers can even support tethering to a cell phone or some type of 4G device.  That really sucks though Phil.

I use this as backup during downtime or during troubleshooting - it very useful because you use a 3G/4G/LTE SIM data card.
You can also set it up to auto switch to mobile data if LAN/WAN is not available.

Got this 9 slot + 1 compute PCI working with smOS/EWBF/200core/1400mem/PL 120 powered by 2400w Delta server PSU
With 1 x 1070ti with PL 120, draws 172watts so that whole PCI base compute card eats about 50w.
All 8 cards in ~ 1070watts.

This will be for the Zotac 1070ti Mini x 8 project.

I will continue to populate all 8 onto this mobo and see how it runs.

Its past midnight here and will finetune the clocks tomorrow morning.
Looks like this 1070ti can run 550 sol/s with the right clocks and power.
I will need to bring this board to the farm and let it rock.
I cant experiment higher watts in my workbench area.

Note: The 8 slot Colorful B250 board is still missing the custom male-to-male 4pin GPU cable. The seller has agreed to send them for free   and I just pay for shipping. I may standardize on the Colorful board for the farm because it will be fully powered with Delta server PSU too - and I can have my choice of CPU.

The 9 board mobo has a PCI based compute board (builtin kaby-lake CPU with 4gb DDR4 Sodimm all in), its very small form factor ... the upside to this board is that its plug and play with NVIDIA cards (No changes in BIOS) but I dont know why it didnt post with AMD cards. So this VS the Colorful B250 mobo without CPU, DDR4.... it may come to the same price.

do you have a link to your seller on the colorful board? Im intersted in trying out a few of those as well

This tilts the economics to favor mid range gpus.

I love the description on the fans "3 violent fan 5000 turns 12CM".  That's gotta be loud I'm guessing.

 Delta GHE I suspect from the RPM count (technically 5200 RPM for the AFB version) - a hair louder than the fans Bitmain has been using for years but a little higher airflow.
 Definitely SERIOUS airflow.

yes   this time one was super burnt  = no fix
the other looked fixable and I sent it in  they could not fix it  sent me a coupon to use on a new s-9
I ordered one   when bcc was peaking  so I got the coupon  and the high bcc price.   paid only 0.84 bcc/bch for it  that would be the Jan batch.

There's 7 of those fans too. 3 intake, 4 in the center. However they say it's a "12038" fan. A quick google showed several variants between 2000-2900rpm. Unsure if it's indeed 5000rpm. I'll ask the seller.

I'd rather run them at 2000rpm for less noise and to save electricity. The antminer S9 uses 1300W and 2 of those fans. A 12 GPU rig, assuming 1200W, shouldn't require 7 of antminer's fans.

This 9-slot board is expensive USD$395 - although its ready to mine out of the box - the kabylake CPU, 4GB DDR4 Sodimm, 64GB M2 SSD all builtin into that compute PCI blade. If the Colorful B250 board costs less after adding the DDR4 and CPU (and that bloody CPU cable) -- I may go all Colorful.

Meanwhile, for the old farm, it will make sense to re-cycle all EVGA PSUs and standardize with ONDA 6 and 8 slots. The 2nd farm hopefully will go all riserless, except for the 12/13 GPU rigs - will leave those alone since its stable and mining without issues.

This board looks nice.  You have just enough room between cards they they can breath without having to use passive coolers and push pull case fans.

This board looks nice.  You have just enough room between cards they they can breath without having to use passive coolers and push pull case fans.

There is 20" fan behind that rig to ensure it all hot air pockets moves upwards.

The temps are 50c-60c-70c range - thanks to the back fans running 24x7

There are 2 more rigs above it so that fan is pushing air upwards for all three rigs.

Every metal rack has 2 of these fans.... there are 42 metal racks in the farms... the fan's life span is about 1 year before they kaput - I have to budget their replacements every year.

I haven't had great luck with the cheap controllers, and if that is just expanding one PWM from the motherboard, it will draw a lot of power with 7 fans.

If it works for you, please report back.

I've used the Lamptron CF525 in 4U builds indoors.  Not cheap, but works very well.  I connect it back to the server PSU breakout board.

Interesting point that you make.  I don't track BCH prices and just mine BTC blindly.  But I'm not to concern about the drop in price since it's going to be huge!  A 35% difficulty reduction even at $6800 will be mean I'm mining and making $9180 in today's value.  We can go all the way back to $4500 before I would start to show any concern.

So what happen here???  Am I wasting my time looking at bitcoin wisdom site?  It was stating -35% step, but it ending up only being -6%.  Can anyone explain this to me.  Is the site not working anymore or was there a last minute push of hashrate just before difficulty was to update?

so 1.1275 x 1.1275 = 1.27125  or  27.125%  improvement if we stay steady
