Damn  woke up and checked all the asics  at the solar array  and we are crashed.

Drove over  no melt downs  seems to be an internet issue.

so 4 avalons         offline  = 27th
1 new pangolian   offline  = 11th
3 s-9's                 offline  = 40th

78th down since  2am  about six hours.

I will be troubleshooting it.

you need a dual WAN router for two internet connections, have a fail over connection automatically.

Yes some routers can even support tethering to a cell phone or some type of 4G device.  That really sucks though Phil.

@gabyrox

just made a bcc wallet

will be emptying my cryptopia account today

1HoSSK7rREJfohtf1gSesanzovmLXYkpA7 (own address)

what a mess  too much stuff

1 dead board.
1 board short along with 1 cpu

10 boards on the way

5 sold
1 for doa
1 for the one never sent out

leaves 3.  I MAY NOT be selling the three.

next solar array crash is fixed 1 bad ethernet cable shut down 78th  for 6 to 12 hours

worse it caused a boot loop on a 2300 usd [parts cost]  booted 3 times a minute for hours.

not sure how dead that pc is  will tear it down on monday I hope it is just the ssd which is bad enough.

more stuff  will need a redundant ethernet cable to the switch in the  array loft along with a router with 2x backup.

Still  things are decent about 2000 a month in the garage
and 2000 a month in the array to split
and 600 a month with my friends office

means 3300 a month for me

and 4 s-9's on the way.

other dead gear

1 fully burnt s-9 board
1 dead s-9 board could not be fixed I got a discount on an s-9
1 fully dead avalon 741 was replaced but I got to keep the dead one.  still can not fix it.
and the pc  I mentioned is dead
and 2 dead  psus

my s-9's should ship soon it would be nice if they came before thanksgiving,

Phil - are you sending the S9 boards to Colorado Bitmain for repairs?

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

I use this as backup during downtime or during troubleshooting - it very useful because you use a 3G/4G/LTE SIM data card.
You can also set it up to auto switch to mobile data if LAN/WAN is not available.

Got this 9 slot + 1 compute PCI working with smOS/EWBF/200core/1400mem/PL 120 powered by 2400w Delta server PSU
With 1 x 1070ti with PL 120, draws 172watts so that whole PCI base compute card eats about 50w.
All 8 cards in ~ 1070watts.

This will be for the Zotac 1070ti Mini x 8 project.

I will continue to populate all 8 onto this mobo and see how it runs.

Its past midnight here and will finetune the clocks tomorrow morning.
Looks like this 1070ti can run 550 sol/s with the right clocks and power.
I will need to bring this board to the farm and let it rock.
I cant experiment higher watts in my workbench area.

Note: The 8 slot Colorful B250 board is still missing the custom male-to-male 4pin GPU cable. The seller has agreed to send them for free  Grin and I just pay for shipping. I may standardize on the Colorful board for the farm because it will be fully powered with Delta server PSU too - and I can have my choice of CPU.

The 9 board mobo has a PCI based compute board (builtin kaby-lake CPU with 4gb DDR4 Sodimm all in), its very small form factor ... the upside to this board is that its plug and play with NVIDIA cards (No changes in BIOS) but I dont know why it didnt post with AMD cards. So this VS the Colorful B250 mobo without CPU, DDR4.... it may come to the same price.

do you have a link to your seller on the colorful board? Im intersted in trying out a few of those as well

4U server case with the Onda mobo. But this case uses the 4 extra pcie 1x slot too. Supports 12 gpus and comes with 2 PSU for $580.

This tilts the economics to favor mid range gpus.

I love the description on the fans "3 violent fan 5000 turns 12CM".  That's gotta be loud I'm guessing.

Delta GHE I suspect from the RPM count (technically 5200 RPM for the AFB version) - a hair louder than the fans Bitmain has been using for years but a little higher airflow.
 Definitely SERIOUS airflow.

There's 7 of those fans too. 3 intake, 4 in the center. However they say it's a "12038" fan. A quick google showed several variants between 2000-2900rpm. Unsure if it's indeed 5000rpm. I'll ask the seller.

I'd rather run them at 2000rpm for less noise and to save electricity. The antminer S9 uses 1300W and 2 of those fans. A 12 GPU rig, assuming 1200W, shouldn't require 7 of antminer's fans.

120 mm by 38 mm

delta has them  over 5000 rpm  this is 4600  29 watts a fan

http://www.coolingsurplus.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=424:ffc1212de-pwm&catid=5:120mm-fans&Itemid=8

if you lower clocks and tdp this may work  7 watts a fan

https://www.amazon.com/Scythe-DFS123812H-3000-Ultra-Kaze-120mm/dp/B001JKNMBE/ref=sr_1_4?

so 7 x 22 = 154 watts  more to move

7 x 230cfm
7 x 138cfm

found it 5500 rpm using 48 watts

150W for cooling is too much. But at the same time, $18 x 7 for new fans is expensive too.

I think there's some 4pin pwm fan pins on the onda mobo on the top right? A cheap fan controller might work: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4RE5UX0433&cm_re=pwm_fan_controller-_-1W7-0053-00012-_-Product

I think watercooled 1070's are the best  card for the onda b250 board.

The 9 slot board with PCI compute card - now together with the minions at the GPU farm.

Its still with smOS, so I will settle for ~480-490 sol/s with 200/700/120w with EWBF for now.

Tytanick says he will include the dstm miner in the coming build so will wait for that and bump the watts to 150w hopefully that will result in above 500 sols/s per card.

QuintLeo managed to hit 500sol/s with dstm/200/700/WIN10

This 9-slot board is expensive USD$395 - although its ready to mine out of the box - the kabylake CPU, 4GB DDR4 Sodimm, 64GB M2 SSD all builtin into that compute PCI blade. If the Colorful B250 board costs less after adding the DDR4 and CPU (and that bloody CPU cable) -- I may go all Colorful.

Meanwhile, for the old farm, it will make sense to re-cycle all EVGA PSUs and standardize with ONDA 6 and 8 slots. The 2nd farm hopefully will go all riserless, except for the 12/13 GPU rigs - will leave those alone since its stable and mining without issues.

This board looks nice.  You have just enough room between cards they they can breath without having to use passive coolers and push pull case fans.

There is 20" fan behind that rig to ensure it all hot air pockets moves upwards.

The temps are 50c-60c-70c range - thanks to the back fans running 24x7

There are 2 more rigs above it so that fan is pushing air upwards for all three rigs.

Every metal rack has 2 of these fans.... there are 42 metal racks in the farms... the fan's life span is about 1 year before they kaput - I have to budget their replacements every year.

Just saw this email from Canaan... A8?

Thanks for waiting patiently while we bring our newest product to market. Before I give you an update I need to collect some information from you. For some of you this will be simply be a repeat of information we already have, but please bear with us and kindly fill out the questionaire. The one question that is really important is about the nature of your business: I classify three types of business: Farm--you operate the miners for yourself only. Hosting-- you operate miners for customers. Resellers--you physically ship to customers who run the miners, basically distributors. Your business can be 1 or more of these types.

You will not be considered for product unless this form is filled out:
Fill out the form: Click here

We are now officially sold out of Avalon 741 for December, and will have some remaining 741  to ship in January 2018. We will contact people on the waiting list to see if they are still interested. Around the end of the month we should be able to announce the new 8 series of miners. At that time we will give out price and performance figures and a First Customer Ship date. The product will be on allocation, and looking at your forecasts it's clear that some will have to wait. We go over every account and will decide in December.  For those of you waiting to hear about the distribution program please watch for future mails. We will probably add a few new distributors in January and then more throughout the rest of the year.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

150W for cooling is too much. But at the same time, $18 x 7 for new fans is expensive too.

I think there's some 4pin pwm fan pins on the onda mobo on the top right? A cheap fan controller might work: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4RE5UX0433&cm_re=pwm_fan_controller-_-1W7-0053-00012-_-Product

I haven't had great luck with the cheap controllers, and if that is just expanding one PWM from the motherboard, it will draw a lot of power with 7 fans.

If it works for you, please report back.

I've used the Lamptron CF525 in 4U builds indoors.  Not cheap, but works very well.  I connect it back to the server PSU breakout board.

good btc numbers  for all of us.

Interesting point that you make.  I don't track BCH prices and just mine BTC blindly.  But I'm not to concern about the drop in price since it's going to be huge!  A 35% difficulty reduction even at $6800 will be mean I'm mining and making $9180 in today's value.  We can go all the way back to $4500 before I would start to show any concern.

So what happen here???  Am I wasting my time looking at bitcoin wisdom site?  It was stating -35% step, but it ending up only being -6%.  Can anyone explain this to me.  Is the site not working anymore or was there a last minute push of hashrate just before difficulty was to update?

bitcoinwisdom  is a joke for months.

If you look at the first post I said about -7%

if you want to it manually you can do it that way.  which is what I did.
    1 block  in 10 minutes = 0%
    6 blocks in 1 hour       = 0%
144 blocks in 24 hours    = 0%
2016 blocks in 2 weeks   = 0%

we are at 2012 Blocks

493921 (Main Chain)   2017-11-10 15:19:38
493922 (Main Chain)   2017-11-10 15:33:53
493923 (Main Chain)   2017-11-10 16:03:25
493924 (Main Chain)   2017-11-10 16:09:13

4 blocks made in 50 minutes so far   should be 5 blocks

that is really slow and a huge drop  but only 4 blocks in.

so :

495107 (Main Chain)   2017-11-19 16:24:39

483921 (Main Chain) 2017-11-10   15:19:38

1136 blocks made in     9 days and 1 hour

9 x 144 = 1296

6 x 1    =       6

we should have  1302

this means   1136/1302 =  87.25%  or -12.75%  with  830 blocks left

Yeah  pretty good drop so far.

Also  coinbase is  at  7777.77 usd   on  Nov 19th

and is was at            6900.00 usd   on Nov 10TH

So if this were to hold  until  the last 830 blocks are made this jump

miners  gain on diff  10% plus       well  it is -12.75%    and - diff is a  gain for miners

and on price   6900 to 7777 is also 12.75%  price gain

so 1.1275 x 1.1275 = 1.27125  or  27.125%  improvement if we stay steady

possible 27% gain  for your asic mining setups

great fan controller
