I probably won't be able to come up with an excuse either if I fucked up the database. It'd do more harm than good if I eventually decide to return.
What are they supposed to say? "Sorry guys, one of our developers messed up the database and now we're trying to fix it manually and we seriously have no idea what we're doing at the moment, but we're getting there somehow"?
The lack of communication isn't good, I agree. But it isn't enough reason to conclude that CM is doing an exit scam.
Even if he didn't post any updates, the fact that he hasn't logged in at all or even changed the chatango bot look suspicious. Again, if you use this reasoning versus the reasoning behind why CM isn't a scam, it isn't enough. I have litecoins still in the same wallet. Nothing moved. You have to consider that they have a website that could potentially make them millions more in the coming days as soon as it gets back up. There's just no rational reason why they would decide to be fugitives and run away with some money from people of different backgrounds(maybe some from the dark web), when they can do it legally with a clean conscience. This is very possible because they saw how much volume they got if they took in the right coins. Sometimes times people who commit theft don't have the best foresight. Plenty of times people have stolen things where it wasn't worth the risk and they easily could have earned the money legitimately to buy what they wanted. Still not good enough. Try again. Look, I feel your frustration and anxiety, and probably same as you, I haven't gotten a good night's sleep in a while. I have money there too-- enough to buy me a trip to Europe for 2 months. But if you put your feelings aside and think rationally, they're not scamming anyone. And, those crimes you're comparing this to? Those are heat-of-the-moment crimes and/or petty theft. So, what. One minute, the devs said. Oh hey, let's put the server under maintenance, disable the withdrawals, keep the people updated while we take 2 weeks to steal their coins. Let's not cover our tracks from who.is just to make it more challenging.

at this market crash, we forgot about the real culprit which is CONSmarkets.com
we shall never forget that at this point in time we're still robbed of our coins. it's too impossible CONSmarkets took almost a month to fix their server issues! this is unacceptable!

2 weeks = Almost a month. For real? Sure feels like it. Two weeks in crypto is a long time, this downtime is unacceptable.

That's because API is not responding and there is no turnover data. I don't think so, It's like scam 3 week ago... I know that. Question was why CMC changed status of CM into inactive. And technical reason is: no valid API and no turnover data. Reason for those not working/being provided is potential scam (at least it looks like that so far, based on chain of events).

And where is scam sign there? A literal ponzi scheme. Ah.. in that meaning.. not the first in Crypto and not last one. At least people can always get in and go out... coinsmarkets just disallow us to withdraw our money, so it is slightly different situation

It's not always heat of the moment or petty theft crimes. People who are very well off and make great salaries have been caught embezzling money from their companies.I don't think who.is information is legitimate either. And we have no real proof that they're actually fixing anything. The occasional vaguely worded updates in the banner don't prove anything. I'd love to be wrong and for you laugh at me for being completely paranoid if they come back online. But as far as their actions and behavior go since the crash, you can come up explanations as to why they would be legitimate and explanations as to why they would be dishonest/criminal - and for me, the explanations for their behavior being criminal and dishonest seem to be the most plausible by far.

these announcements are a prewritten script. the only point is to drip hope to everyone so they can make a getaway and leave a cold trail 1 month long

I wouldn't say that they're a prewritten script. They do seem to be responding to what's actually happening to some degree (in particular the one about contacting hosting). However, I completely I agree with you that they're trying to drip hope as long as possible. It may not even be CM themselves that are doing it, it could be someone that they paid to do it for them.

Can someone help me understand what would be the reason for this: Here is a screenshot of some wallets when the last scan date shows as 1/7 or 1/8 - > https://i.imgur.com/PVCptwB.pngHere is a screenshot of those same wallets when the last scan date shows as 1/12 or 1/14 -> https://i.imgur.com/ykzWXLy.pngFor some of the wallets, the values that are in the "money supply" column differ between the two screenshots.
