The buys and sells of 100 are me, I had to go to cryptsy to do it because back in Jan or Feb or so Vircurex failed to credit me 2 bitcoins I sent them, and to this day still has not, so I am unable to provide buy support on Vircurex. After many many months of building up support they screewed us by prventing me sending in more bitcoins to continue providing support. So maybe they are in on it too.

Thanks for all the cheap IXCoins over on cryptsy But I dunno if I can do it on cryptsy, part of why VIrcurex was the place to use was all the bitcoins tied up in the low end of the buy side earned something at Vircurex. Building the buys all the way down to be bottom is just money sitting idle on Cryptsy, at leastg until someone dumps all trhe way to the bottom anyway.

Bear in mind that there is a whole faction that call themselves Ixians in the Galactic Milieu. (Which, I just noticed I have not made a Devtome page for, I should do that sometime to earn some DeVCoins.)

Take a look at http://galaxies.mygamesonline.org/inbtc.html

Scroll down to March of 2014.

CDN, GMC, GRF, MBC, UKB and UNS are basically IXCoin clones. That is, there are 21 million coins and no more being minted. That was true for them all along.

Not being minted means no miners out there dumping them, no new ones being made that have to be bought to keep the price per coin from falling.

Now I am not saying that the Ixians are as powerful as the Canucks, the Brits, or even General Mining Corp, but still... The batshit crazy values those folks' coins attained in March of 2014 are totally batshit crazy. 1/500 of such prices would be crazy. But who knows how powerful the Ixians would become if you lot were in the game with them ingratiating yourselves with all the high mucky mucks on the Galactic Diplomacy planet and so on? Who knows how much the Ixian currency, IXCoin, would be worth by now if you had all bought a few CDN, UKB, GRF and such using Ixcoins years ago, and used them to "back" Ixcoin?

The big problem is the dumpers: people who are not themselves Ixians but, due to IXCoin having been mined by non-Ixians, being in possession of large chunks of IXCoin. Thus being able to devalue the Ixian currency by dumping it.

Ix needs to buy back its currency and back it with the full faith and resources of the planet Ix, or the Ixian nation, or whatever their basis is. Heck just the Ixian clan or whatever.

Maybe they should consider buying 100 player accounts and using them to put 500 workers into the fields or mines just to pile up materials with which to "back" their currency?

Basically once the dumpers are gone, so that Ixians pretty much own their own currency again, they ought to be able to do well with it like other nations / clans have already done in the past.

I don't get it.
All the other coins, once they went on shapeshift, they skyrocketed.
Ixcoin instead seems falling apart.
So, to dump ixcoins is the solution?

I would continue to post on bitcointalk, but I think it's a great idea to have an iXcoin forum too.  It allows the iXcoin enthusiasts and discussions to be focused in one place.  It should make for faster progress.

A forum for about 5-10 people? You could make e.g a slackgroup. But makes no sense to me.

I agree on a ixcoin forum. It was nice on ixcoin.co

About the mining. This the answer I got today.
What do you understand from F2pool's answer? New merged mined coins?

Hi,
Is F2pool dropping iXcoin merge mining?

No. We only reduced the hashrate by half to allow other people joining in.

It's hard to use ixcoin on shapeshift. The current deposit limit to sell them is 30 IXC. Selling IXC 30 coins at a time will result in any BTC obtained being eaten by fees.

i also had difficulties moving 'larger' sums of IXC out of cryptsy yesterday.

what should have been 1 tx ended up as 4 smaller ones with no consistency.

no idea about shapeshift but ive been kind of hoping to see IXC on coinimi.

According to F2pool, the halving of ixcoin hashpower has been done on purpose, with the goal to let other players come into game. This would be good for ixcoin. Let's see if other pools will take ixcoin onboard. If so, we could end up with having ixc as much decentralised (if not more) as bitcoin.

Sorry,
What do you mean with "other people joining in"? Other merged mined coins?
Thanks

So the ixcoin network won't get stuck if we disappears, which should not happen in near future.

Zebedee,

You bastard!  IXC mining/difficulty just collapsed.  Not dead yet but taken a massive hit and going lower.  Same pattern i0 and DVC followed a couple months ago and now they're dropped completely by the Chinese.

How did you know this was gonna happen?

Anybody know what's going on?
Lol, like I caused it.  But thanks for pointing it out, I hadn't noticed.

Dude, I've been amazed that given the risk to their real revenue stream, BTC, pools have continued to merge mine this turd.  I guess they've realized 0 IXC revenue multiplied by 1 cent is jack.  What took them so long?

Diff is still 5 billion, so 5 billion still to fall!

Well if true, and judging from the 50% hashrate collapse, it seems you guys are the ultimate in mining centralization: only F2Pool is doing it.  Better hope they continue otherwise you're never gonna find another block.

See what happened here:  http://atc.blockr.io/   1720 hours since the last block.  Heh.

I talked to Gavin and Peter Todd about helping out with the coding for the 20mb test.  Perhaps the mining needed to be more decentralized for a believable test.  I'm hoping this is the reason for f2pool's change in mining strategy.

Heads up!

Total collapse in IXC hash/difficulty.

Now at 4.8 and dropping hard, now around a 95% drop in under 1 week.  I have never seen this happen with IXC.  I don't know what's going on, I'm not getting any feedback from our Chinese partners.

If I hear anything I'll keep everyone posted.

on dropping ix difficulty

i read that f2 and other pools that merge mine had to make changes to namecoin so merge mining hash power may be reduced,  blocks are still being produced on ix network

as Mark pointed out here ,

the difficulty being even over 1 billion is quite secure,  much better than ppc,  which would not have nearly as high a proof of work difficulty if not for the high production of proof of stake blocks,

other than coins merged with btc,  there is nothing that can touch the difficulty of these , nmc, ix , even i0 , dev ect ,,   even group is parked out pretty high and i think only on mm pool........

so i would not worry about it for now,

the resources to merge mine are always going to effect the miners ability to efficiently merge mine the other coins in particular bitcoin

every unit they have set on merge mining has less 'proficient' hashing and is at a bit of a timing disadvantage in mining bitcoin

if i am wrong, please post me a github to a merged mining setup that does not suffer from these issues i believe,

i would love to be wrong on this,

also i have not left i am still here monitoring the netowrk and keeping an eye on things,

that is what i was always here for , nothing more.........

remember the developers of namecoin or any other coin can put out new code but if pools fail to use that code or if it does not work under real world mining conditions that cannot be tested in your living room these are real issues.......................

i read namecoin devs had a fix deployed,  (i don't have a link to the code)

again i don't believe ix has to worry about this for reasons i previously stated and feel foolish repeating.

also if you compare ix difficulty to i0 remember to multiply or divide by a factor of five due to different block time

suppose difficulty drops to 1 billion even 500 million,  i seriously doubt anyone is going to spend the time, money and resources plus have the knowledge to take it out,

attacking namecoin , something that is still being mined may make sense if an attacker was looking for financial rewards,

also more difficult when namecoin difficulty is higher but remember if someone 51% ix now they could control the chain however no new coins are being mined so much less incentive to attack imo............

the pools may be  tired of spending a lot of resources on merge mining of all the coins if it takes a little edge away from bitcoin mining,

if they were going to drop ix or other coins i think they would have done it long ago,

i may be wrong but i suspect they are just slowing it down since it is still running so fast it would be nearly impossible to attack....

then again what do i know........lol

edit one  note please do not tell me this 20 mb block test is coming back,
that is something i cannot support , do not recommend at all,

the bitcoin test net can run that , it is the craziest idea i have ever heard of

And f2pool announced 2 days ago that they have now pulled all support for i0, so that coin is done.
There's also the recent announcement of the possibility of chain forks in coins based on old code. This makes pools a bit uncomfortable to run them. See the namecoin updates going on for example.

The ssl bug again? I thought they just gone done fixing that! Arg.

Just as well we didn't instantly throw money at taking the fix and putting into all the merged mined coins.

I thought though that bitcoin fixed it then namecoin replicated the fix, did they fail to replicate it properly or is bitcoin not fixed afterall?

EDIT: See http://coinzen.org/index.php/topic,3938.0.html - I am urging DeVCoin to whip up bounties for getting fixes done for all the merged mined coins.

I believe you are wrong cinnamon im afraid. If you look at http://github.com/simplecrypto/powerpool. It runs using a gevent loop as its core. This allows it to spin of the submission of merged mining blocks into a seperate loop so that it does not affect the timing of the bitcoin blocks. This means there can be hundreds of such loops running at once with minimal impact to block finding.
