Got home from work and looked at the price and I can't believe it's still going down.

Looking at the trades all I've gotta say is we've got a real pro gaming ixCoin right now.

Props to you - hope you buy your IXC soon cause many things are gonna start happening soon.

Cheers!

I'm not worried about the sell off.  IXC went up pretty fast so it was overbought short term.  It will be back up soon.

I'm still impressed with the volume on ixco.in which is about 54,000 IXC over the last 24hrs compared to about 22,000 IXC on Cryptsy, and 76,000 IXC on CEX.io.  For a new exchange with only one trading pair it has very good activity.  It's almost like there's been a secret society of iXcoin holders hiding out in Asia and their coming to life.

I've been saying this for 18 months - only I thought it was global, not just Asia, but yeah, it's pretty amazing to see it actually happening instead of just some crazy idea in my mind.  lol

Hey Ixcoin folks,

Seeing as how ixcoin can easily do what bitcoin can do.......

It would be real slick if ixcoin had an api like this.        https://chain.com/

Why? because chain is compatible with "if this then that"     https://ifttt.com/chain

"If this then that" would really get ixcoin into a new audience, Id suggest checking this out for more info. https://ifttt.com/channels   Kiss

Good idea.   IXCoin can become the ultimate blockchain platform for doing stuff.  Meanwhile.... let me accumulate more coins.

Today IXCo.in 24 hour volume is exceeding all other exchanges combined, and it's 50% higher than CEX.io.

IXCo.in      120,093 IXC
CEX.io        81,131 IXC
Cryptsy      15,430 IXC
Vircurex      6,028  IXC

S E C U R I T Y.  I know you weren't looking for that answer.  You want unique features, but they are useless if you don't have enough network hash power to protect the block chain.  iXcoin is one of the few coins which even approaches Bitcoin on this, with about 50% of its hash rate.

Yeh, I know, iXcoin has no block reward so what if pools stop mining.  Pools understand they need to protect their investments.  Some have been mining for 3.5 years!  So why would any want to dump a super secure block chain they already have and hope for a new one to come along.  That's why I think it's unlikely for pools to dump iXcoin.  Besides, transaction volume is on the rise and iXcoin has a growing development team.

The real money is not short term mining and dumping, then on to the next coin.  It's building a strong crypto currency and a community around it.  It's years of investment in the same coin to let it grow into its own economy.  iXcoin is on its way.  If you want to jump in the price is right at the moment, but it won't stay down forever.

The price just hit 10,000 sat?

Why?

I put 10 Bitcoins in IXC at between 17,000 sat - 19,888 sat just in the last 1 week.

I'm gonna be sick...

@Vlad2Vlad - It's never been easy to be an early adopter & I know its hard to <not> look @ the price, but the volume is extraordinary, and you said yourself what that is a prelude too Smiley

This coin seems to have persevered for quite some time now. I'm keeping an eye on it, but what exactly does this coin have to offer that other coins don't?

@sgi02 - Yes it has persevered, and today we have 3 years and 26 weeks of blockchain to prove it.

Recently (Oct 2014) Ixcoin proved a core aspect of crypto currencies in general, and bitcoin in particular was valid.  As I don't expect to live long enough to see this same thing happen for Bitcoin, it was a core reason I got involved in Ixcoin, and a big part of the crypto coin experiment.  It passed the test with flying colors.

The question was: When all the coins have been mined, what is going to happen?  Will the network survive?  Will the software fail?

It did survive and the software did NOT fail.  IXCOIN now has zero inflation.

Today we are seeing an ever growing community of supporters, in part because Ixcoin is Bitcoin without all the problems @ a fraction of the price, to Vlad's dismay.  Bitcoin is having a really ruff time of it @ the moment, and learning how to cope with vast amounts of growth, I think it will succeed in that effort and I also think that Ixcoin will be right here leveraging that expertise, as well as exploring the world of zero inflation in crypto coin land.  I'm pretty sure no other POW (Proof-Of-Work) coin has done this, certainly no other coin this old.

If your like me, and bought most of your BTC when it was $5 in the summer of 2012, you'll join us & we look forward to having you onboard.

@Kraizi - Thanks for that update & lots of good responses to the question we see most often.  We get asked that allot.

I've been excited to see IXCo.in show up on the scene with an Asian based IXC exchange, and look forward to their release of an Electrum wallet.  To see this volume on the exchange already, in such a short time, is....how do I say it.  Extraordinary!

--------------------------------------
Ixcoin CORE 0.9.3 development update:
--------------------------------------
It's been awhile, so felt it important to give you all an informative update on what has been happening with Core code development.

Allot of work has been going on in the background for a complete release of the new Ixcoin Core 0.9.3 software.  For those of you that don't regularly follow the Github commits, I've been making some final changes to our repository, primarily those changes were to correct a few minor problems with our code regarding testnet and regression testing modes of operation and is a prelude to the clients merged-mining code final test & release.  This aspect of the software development is now in Ahmed capable hands &  I expect he will be reporting here as Testnet progress unfolds, possibly a private mainnet fork will be operated for awhile to ensure everything is working 100% before final builds are made to everyone's favorite OS/platform.

In the interest of expediting future upgrades & in order to keep us current with Bitcoin Core code more easily, he's reverted allot of my work back to a bitcoin state.  At the moment, I"m not sure how extensive that re-work will have to be, just found out about it in the last 24hrs & will try to post something after looking at the issues involved.  As most of you know I'm committed to keeping Ixcoin code updated & this re-factoring shouldn't be a problem.  My expectation is it can be done while the final merged-mining tests are going on.  Shouldn't be to much longer before all of you can enjoy having a new fully functional Ixcoin node operating on the network or an Electrum wallet, which would also be way cool.

We do need more seed-nodes to place in the code, anyone able & willing to commit to maintaining 24/7 nodes @ a static IP, please PM me here, or post in the thread so we can get those entries created and into the final 0.9.3 builds.  It would be greatly appreciated.

GR

ETA: So far a number of people have downloaded and are using my last build, v0.9.2.1, unless your a miner, it's fully functional and no problems have been reported:
You can find that Win32 Setup and a Bootstrap.dat archive for Ixcoin here: https://github.com/GroundRod/IXCoin/releases

I wanna thank m00x! for the sign of cooperation and friendship I0coin community is showing toward iXcoin.

Please m00x!, announce your initiative.

Thanks

The I0coin community recently set up a faucet for itself, and in the interest of cooperation we also set one up for ixcoin.  You will find it here.

http://www.cryptoblox.com/faucets/iXcoin/

The webmaster claims there are about 1.5 million page views per month on this site, so it should give both coins some good exposure.  We loaded the faucet with 200 IXC.  'Drip Rate' is how often the same person can get a payout and is set to 24 hours.  We set the Payout fairly low at .01 to .1 IXC to keep the faucet going fairly cheaply.  If you want to boost it at some time just contact the webmaster at support@cryptoblox.com.  Hopefully, the ixcoin community can keep the balance going from here on out.

I love faucets !!  Shocked Shocked Shocked

That was (originally) one of the things that I found really 'weird and at the same time cool'  about bitcoin when I first discovered it !!  Cry

It all seemed like a game....... a math or science game.... involving cryptography ..... more than a video game , a computer 'challenge'.......

What a difference several years have made.  Grin

As for recent iX items here are a few of my thoughts .....  Kiss

a) Volume appears to be picking up and the trade rate vs. btc also as people see the advantages of an old school coin that has been around and has a high difficulty, (i.e. security) especially when btc has been on sale lately harder for anything to keep an even trade price or gain traction.....

b) I agree with the posts above and suggest you build your own wallet from the 9.x github source or use one of the builds released for iX 9.x codebase. I have never yet seen any one running it on the network when I check the peers and hardly anyone is even running the 8.x codebase. Amazing almost everyone is on 4.x codebase. The advantages to running the 9.x over 4.x are multiple. You can lock your wallet, countless bugs have been patched , with level db indexing is much faster and more reliable and I can go on and on..... The 8.x clients work ok but 9.x has everything bitcoin has in 9.x including coin control (go to options , wallet , expert features..... ) also spend unconfirmed change.....  9.x compared to all prior clients for a regular person is solid on every test I tried. I could not break it or get it to crash ect......

When Ahmed + G.R post they have all their changes to github i will do a test build on win and encourage other qualified members here to do the same so we can make sure it is tight.  So far all the updates they have done look very good to me.

c)  Personally I am curious why some of the exchanges like bittrex (naming one at random) are not adding iX given the avg. daily volume on other exchanges.

d)  I think everyone should give Vlad some credit for his early insight and all the hours of work he has put into iX.  Yes he owns a few coins but he has really put his whole heart and soul into doing the right things for iX and some people may not see that since he does (like me) speak his mind and is not afraid to stand up for what he believes in.   If you are involved with iX at any level and are going to acknowledge at least one person who can and has certainly helped iX and will continue to do so you should recognize Vlad.   He wants what is best for iX. I hope anyone looking at future plans for iX can recognize this and at least return his calls, e mails ect.....

Vlad and I had a private communication recently and I think I kind of made a few comments that he took as disrespect.  I hope you are not upset with me Vlad.  If you are I am sorry. I recognize all the work and effort you have invested and only want to see things go well. There are very few coin projects other than those I am acting as a developer that I will even associate with or say I support them even in spirit for many reasons.  My services are not for sale to anyone. I only devote time or effort to things I believe are

1) based on good honest technology and code that does not change at the whim for some parties benefit
2) things 'good' for the world of cryptocurrency as a whole and in spirit of the original white paper of S.N.
3) Things that may eventually help solve other issues in the world and have real world uses.

If you are concerned about recent news of regulation like many of us are to the bitcoin world it is time to start looking to alternatives. Not to 'dump' btc but to not put all your eggs in one basket. When you look make wise careful choices. Select alternatives with superior or proven technology, secure blockchains, developers who really understand what they are doing and improve their code when possible and finally distribution systems accessable to all for a 'reasonable' amount of time (minimum a few years without crazy reductions). These ideas are common sense to me but I know not all agree.

e) I still wonder who the 'satoshi' of iX is.  There are (I never counted exactly) but an estimated 1 million to 2 million iX coins that were mined and 'never redeemed at output' which means someone mined them to sit on them a long time and has not moved them EVER !!   For an example go to the block crawler above and look at block 5000 of iX in particular the output of the transaction

http://darkgamex.ch:2751/tx/78e5c7345edf95b91768a5d890367ce2cd5869cba8469c73160eefb6a383bc6b#o0

This is one of countless examples found by myself and much more work was done by Vlad to estimate how many coins are sitting out there in storage by someone waiting for ......who knows what.  If iX was a pump and dump those coins would have moved by now or would be moving now. The coin age of those old pre-merge mined coins is pretty tight.  We may never find out who owns those coins and I respect privacy but when you consider those coins are 'not in circulation' plus a lot of people probably lost some iX over the years like btc the supply available now is even more limited......

Many predicted the demise of iX more often than the demise of bitcoin yet it still runs..... The world of cryptocurrency has no guarantees but some things certainly do stand out when you think long term.  They are not always the coins in the press or the coins 'most profitable to mine' .....

Finally if anyone can compile a test build of iX (not necessarly a release candidate) that runs in java based on one of the open sourced bitcoin sources it would probably be a good service to the community.  I cannot guarantee you any payment but since this would enable easy development of mobile wallets and other things the iX community can be very generous (and has been to me in the past)  when you 'contribute' something of value and ask for donations.

Finally some much needed updates to the www.iXcoin.org website have been done.

Thanks Thomas for trusting me with access to it.

I kept it simple as instructed by Thomas but I hope more details [and a new currency symbol] will be added soon as we get more input from our partners - CEX.io, Peter Erskin, etc.

For now at least - new investor traffic can find more up to date information.

Cheers!

CoinMarketCap is giving false values for IXCoin, for example right now it claims IXCoins are at 0.00009878 BTC but that is bullshit, they have been in the 10-thousands and eleven-thousands all morning and just now hit twelve thousand again.

(On Vircurex.

Just because some stupid exchange somewhere that does not provide its users with an incentive for building strong buy-sides of its orderbooks ends up with empty low end on its orderbooks in no way means that it is reflecting the true price that those who are serious about supporting prices (by building strong deep buy-sides on the orderbooks) are paying for a coin...

Of course CoinMarketCap doesn't even seem to have heard of one of the other high difficulty ancient long term staying power coins, I0Coin, at all, so maybe it is stupid of me to even bother looking at CoinMarketCap site at all? There must be a better site the actually provides for real the kind of stats that CoinMarketCap pretends to be providing?

How do I donate to the faucet?

Great, finally a proper faucet.  Almost 300 payouts already.  Let's spread the wealth a bit and get more iXcoiners enrolled!  Don't mind the price taking a beating lately.  We're on the right track.

Vote for iXcoin on CoinPayments

I think we have enough supporters now to take a crack at getting on the CoinPayments payment processing system.  This would open iXcoin up to dozens of vendors for doing business transactions.  I've seen winners with less than 20 votes so every vote counts.  Read the rules for voting here.

Coinpayments won't hurt but IXC needs a real payment processor, ideally BitPay.

Let me ask the community and please take 60 seconds to give your input.

What products/services would iXCoin need to offer to be considered a full blown global currency?

For example:  having your own exchange.  That's a must have since it offers free trades which leads to huge necessary liquidity and down the road can serve as a cash cow for development.

So what else?

What would be next after you have the liquidity you need?

I have a roadmap in my mind but I wanna see if I'm missing anything.

Please take a minute to give your input.

Thanks!

BitPay would be better but Coinpayments is a good stepping stone.  We don't want just one payment processor, just like we don't want just one exchange in case it closes.  We shouldn't be so choosy.  Even if you don't see anything on Coinpayments you would buy now, they add new stores every month.
