Development is unbelievably good but marketing, so far, has been crap.
...

With respect to bad marketing - do you have any suggestions? I'm not saying you're wrong but I have yet to see any marketing that's been effective except for a bull run.
...

I said marketing has been crap because there basically hasn't been any, though I don't entirely agree that there is no point to marketing except during a bull run. In fact, it has been my experience that marketing is most important during bearish periods - along with product development, of course - to pull away from the weaker competitors and establish mind-share.

Since I made the post above, some progress has been made in formulating a new marketing strategy by Joshy and Cryptonator1337 on the Dero Discord channel. I'm an engineer so about the last person you want to ask how to market something, but at this point even putting sign-spinners on a few street corners would be a step up.  Grin

This is interesting. Are you saying that DERO cannot be mined with GPU anymore?

This is what happens when developers are comfortable when ASICs are mining their creation. Unlike Monero developer that when the need arises, he changes or modifies the algo so that it will be ASIC resistant.

How does Dero's use of uncles differ from Ethereum's use of uncles?

Does Ethereum also thwart 51% attack?

I forwarded your questions to the dev on Discord, but I can answer the second one: currently, Ethereum is *not* resistant to a 51% attack. That said, it is all but immune to one given the massive amount of hashrate it would require, and Vitalik it working on a new consensus algo that would require 99% of the nodes to be compromised (which sounds suspiciously like what Dero has already...).

Great work with Dero. The coin looks excellent. Will smart contracts internal transactions scale as well as normal transactions?

Will your smart contracts be based on the Ethereum VM?

1. "Uncles" are accepted in Dero.

That doesn't really answer any of my questions.  My question is more technical than thatt. I'll wait for the developers reply.

I think the new website looks a lot more professional and explains the goals, innovations and scope of the project more clearly.  A step in the right direction!

Ethereum uncles may receive a mining reward but are not added to the chain. In DERO "uncles" receive a mining reward but are also added to the blockDAG. Ethereum follows the longest chain rule and in theory is still susceptible to a 51% attack. In DERO all blocks are added to the blockDAG and any blocks with duplicate tx spends are removed preventing the typical 51% attack.

The fonts are bad (tagline matches blurb font, really?), the video is a raw unstyled embed (it's an eye sore), and the gradients are dated.
It looks like it was designed by a developer, it looks bad.  The previous looked reminiscent of an eye for design (though it lacked in UX).

I don´t think it looks designed by a dev (the old one was, don´t ask me why i know it.. Tongue) since it´s a pro theme called ICO Crypto @by Softnio, you will see it in other projects such MoonDex, etc..
I liked the old one but it´s more professional and market standard now. Said that, the price is going really well, glad to see the project finally attracts the interest it deserve.
