HashFast:

1) With 2 month delay for 1st batch customers, it would take 4.4TH if HF shipped mid-to-end of December to make 50BTC by end of January, so HashFast should ship all MPP right away to who ever paid for it without waiting till Jan because 1 batch customers are already at a loss. Better yet at least extend 2TH limit to 4-5TH

2) What about promise to ship 400Gh upgrade kit to batch 1 customers by Nov 15-30. When will batch 1 customers get that and how will they get compensated for losses?

HashFast REFUND ! I am a HashFast's Batch 1 customer and I want full 100% BTC refund.

10x

We have already had 2 diff increases since the week we were promised delivery. There will be at least 2 more increases (more likely 3, possibly more given their WAGs on delivery) before we have miners in hand.

Without a better MPP it's going to be another avalon experience again, early VaporJet buyers will take a hell of a haircut.    Angry

Is purchasing a babyjet today assuming i get it in jan make me enough btc to cover the costs of buying it for 2250 + shipping expenses? Not taking into account electricity costs.

Can any experienced miner speculate for me.

That is a question everyone has asked themselves (in one form or another), and to which there is no definitive answer. Saying "it depends" would not be inaccurate.

When will it be delivered? What will the difficulty be by then? What will the BTC exchange rate be? Only if you can answer these 3 latter questions (which no one can), will you come close to being able to answer your original question.

Everyone will have an opinion, but no one will have an answer. You need to find your own. It is your money.

No way you are gonna get it in Jan. The promised delivery date fort that bj batch is the 28 of Feb.

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:
Bitcointa.lk - Replace "Bitcointalk.org" with "Bitcointa.lk" in this url to see how this page looks like on a proper forum (Announcement Thread)
Hashfast.org - Wiki for screwed customers

If the BTC/$ price stays at around $600 or lower then no. If the price goes to $800 by January then you may make around $150. If it goes up more then you start to make more money.

Obviously if it arrives after January (seems likely) then you are screwed Sad

So if i get it in january. You think it won't even make 4 bitcoins  in one whole year or 0.07BTC per week for 1 year? WTF

If you had zero electricity costs.

Then you would be make aprox $400 in a year if current difficulty levels climb at the same rate as they are currently and BTC is at $800 in January.

But there are so many variables to play with, if difficulty levels drop from 125% per month to 100% per month then your income grows to around $1000 in a year

If the BTC value rises to $1000 per coin then you'r up to $2500 in the year, but if it drops down to $600 again you are not making any money.

You can play with all the numbers in http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/ its not an exact tool and can be used to prove or disprove your purchase decision, but its interesting to see what happens if you plug in the numbers.

The thing is the value of my bitcoins has gone up so much lately that purchasing a babyjet may well be worth it. Since difficulty is not correlated with the bitcoin exchange value.

btw thanks for the link, very nice detailed calculator.

Also you must understand that we (first batch customers) were promised a delivery date in October and it doesn't seem like we'll be receiving our devices until mid-end december. So what makes you think they will keep their word on their January release date?  They are not to be trusted.

Ahh that is true. But i read a staff member post that delivery time delays will not effect orders for batch 3. But ofcourse they would all say that.

Since difficulty is not correlated with the bitcoin exchange value.

Actually it is, pretty much linearly correlated, although with a delay and a substantial delay when vendors are unable to meet demand, which is clearly the case now. But you can be sure  that the current bitcoin price boom is causing a new flood of preorders that will start hashing sooner or later, even if BTC exchange crashes again, since almost all of those preorders are non refundable.

Yes but are you saying that since difficulty is skyrocketing every month, then that means the bitcoin price will skyrocket accordingly? If so bitcoin will be going up exponentially every month for the next year....

edit: got it the wrong way around.

Yes, and we were told everything was "On track" until October 23rd when they finally announced delays.  It's a risk your gonna have to take. Just know that I and a lot of other customers regret our decision to go with Hashfast.

Hi everybody!

Sorry for the lack of communication; I was ill and unable to liaison with the HashFast execs last week.

I'll go in to the office on Monday and see what news/updates can be shared with the forum.

Best,

-HF_CL

PS  I've been reading about the new Global Work Queue.  It has the potential to do for devices what stratum did for cgminer (IE keep everything topped up and minimize idle time to squeeze out every last drop of performance)!

So its near the end of the work day on the east coast. Do you have anything to share with the forum?

I'm at the new office but the execs aren't here ATM.  Everybody is out working furiously to get the hardware built and shipped ASAP.

This is clearly a company that intends to be around for the long haul, and is in the middle of both growing and birthing pains.

If I can get the printer working, that will be a small victory!   Smiley

"Bitcoin enables ordinary people to fight back, to avoid and evade snooping governments, which enact, use and abuse laws that allow them, without due process, to investigate, tax, control and seize privately owned assets."  -   Leon Louw

“We can say without equivocation that firms like MasterCard, Visa and the TBTF banks like JPMorgan and Goldman hate the idea of ever having to compete for business again. They have grown comfortable in their corrupt world of writing laws for themselves without any regulatory oversight. They enjoy the exorbitant privilege of bilking the American economy with extortionary transaction rates. They are scared of Bitcoin. And they should be. It offers transparency, cost efficiency and anonymity.” - Max Kaiser
