Chips etched with week 48, 2013.  Roll Eyes

I think people would be a lot more understanding  of the delays if HashFast would just stop BSing about having had everything ready for an October release if it hadn't been for those pesky substrates.

Interesting...

Hashfast;
We all saw and got excited by the picture of the packaged chip.   Have you put it on the board?   How did it do?   What tweaks are needed and how long do you think those will take?
Please post some updates.

Thanks

Why that date? I will wait for the 13 of December, just to come and say "how strange, you have yet to ship".

Also after 30 pages againt HF here in this thread they will
never more post here on this forum.
Someone has forgotten who scammed who in the first place. I'm so sorry that HF can't come here and update us more than twice a month because of... We are defining them for what they are.

Soooo....  how many stories ending in tears like this guy?

"So when I saw the HashFast BabyJet was going to do a minimum of 400 Ghash/s, I had to get it.  I spent some time researching the company, and they seemed pretty legit.  They are well funded and seem to have good management."

Taken from their twitter:

@HashFast: GN chip bringup is under way - IOVdd and Vdd applied, slowly increasing current.

@HashFast: GN chip bringup is under way - Full voltage applied, leakage is lower than expected.

This means their are already testing the chips into the board or that they are still testing the chip itself ?

I will ask Jhon as soon as possible but I supposse they will make an oficial anouncement when they finish testing the chip.

I don´t know why. Normaly I feel bad and get fear, when I´m at a point when  I will loose my money, the same when I´m all-inn
on and shares invest, but in this case (and today) not.

I don´t know what happend with me, my money and HF

I forgot about the Australian team, but this is some test that is being run in the states, because the chips are there... So this one for me is like the first good news since October.

Tough crowd. Everyone was screaming for updates, and now that they provide some interesting and very detailed updates, its still no good because you dont understand what they are saying.

It means they have applied power to the chip and are they are pleased with its electrical properties, but haven't tested any work yet.

There are two types of power usage:
dynamic - (i.e. productive working power logic gates charging and discharging to do work)
and
static (or leakage) - power that passes through a gate even if it is below the switching threshold for the gate.

As process nodes get smaller and smaller, the gate size (or the barrier that basically keeps the electrons on one side vs other indicating on or off) gets smaller and the chance of electrons improperly tunneling across that barrier goes up.  The stronger the electric field the larger the leakage.

I am not an EE... more of a well rounded nerd, but basically they are saying that at idle, the chip is exceeding expectations.  This is a good small step.  The next test is to see how it performs with real work load.  Hopefully they will have some numbers today.
