I got a call from HashFast yesterday saying that my BJ was shipped out by FedEx the day before (Wednesday night).

They said they'd send me the tracking number by e-mail shortly.
It's now a day later and no tracking number, and no BJ.

I have no idea what is going on. Has anyone else had this happen?

I am in the same situation... but I have a tracking number, so at least I have some visibility into the machines progress.
One of my units was shipped out Wednesday night with Priority Overnight Delivery.
But... it was picked up at 6:15PM which is after their overnight deliver deadline.
That being said.. it was scheduled for delivery today before 10:30AM.
However, it was still 2 states away at 9:30AM so... I am still waiting.  Even though that state is in the midwest, the Fedex site said something about delays on the east coast.

Anyway, right now it is on a truck out for delivery... so... I imagine in the next couple of hours it will show up at my door... but boy am I feeling jinxed.

ps.  Regarding the fellow wanting to earn back the purchase price.  That went out the window in November.

I bet that is what is going on for me too.

But it seems like HashFast might have shipped it to the wrong address!! Looking at my original invoice I see that I had different billing and shipping addresses. But looking at a later invoice it seems like they are shipping to my billing address!! I'm pretty angry right now. I don't even know where the BJ is going as I don't even have a tracking number!

I feel bad for people who got scammed by Hashfast. If they didn't promise BTC refunds or the miner protection plan, I'm sure they would not have gotten nearly as many orders as they did.

The sad fact is that 400 GH is only worth ~4 BTC right now. In fact, you can get 2 Antminers shipped immediately for 3.8 BTC, and that price will fall when the next batch is available after the Chinese new year.

400 GH will probably only earn around 5 BTC mining nonstop from now until it is no longer viable.

You are not considering the power efficiency. The antminers use about 3x as much power. 4.25BTC for 400GH would be fair IMO, and would expect a 6BTC return if delivered by the end of next week

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Actually, like BFL, if the price of BTC hadn't risen x10 HashFast would be out of business right now.

You forgot about the MPP. In 3 months and this not guaranteed. HF might be shipping out MPP, so those who ordered in the first batch will get about 1.2 TH of mining power.

In 3 months, 800 GH will likely earn ~.05 BTC per day, which isn't much. That extra 800 GH in three months may earn another 2-3 BTC.

The MPP should (but won't) be shipped the 28th of January and it should give everyone a total of 5 boards, or around 2.75TH (550GH/board).

Everyone was complaining that Hashfast wasn't telling us the hashrate and wattage of the rigs. Now there are a number of people who have them and I have asked what those numbers are (wattage at specific hashrate) and no one seems to be able to answer.

This is usually the first thing reported when new hardware hits consumers hands.

Please, someone, take a second and check it.

Something like 390W for 420GH is the number that was reported.

Looks pretty close to 1W per GH/s.

I have a mFi power strip so I don't know how accurate it is compared to a kil-a-watt but it says that the miner is drawing 497/498 watts overclocked to 500Gh (650 mhz core clock).

Yeah, this is kind of ridiculous.

But don't worry. I'm going to pick up my BJ tonight from FedEx (HashFast shipped it to the wrong address), and once I do, I'm going to measure the power consumption right away at a variety of speeds and I'll post it here.

Mine just arrived.  Took about 10 minutes to check that it was okay and to get started mining (box was beaten a bit, but seems to mining fine).

For me setup was:
1) Plug in raspberry pi's power and network (separate box)
2) Plug in the BJ1 powersupply and plug in mini-USB external BJ1 socket to the Pi.

Ahh.... that was it.  It grabbed a dhcp address from my router, and started mining at the default address. I will let it finish off the tonal minimum and then put in my p
The box was pretty banged up by Fedex, but it seems to be okay inside.
It was not double boxed, but there was a decent amount of styrofoam.

The hardest part was realizing that the Pi is meant to be run outside the BJ1 and the BJ1 just connects to it via the external USB cable.
