#HashFAST Technologies is exhibiting at http://www.insidebitcoins.com  in LasVegas in December.  #bitcoin #virtualcurrencies $MBIS
(22 of October)

If they are "exhibiting" (sorry, i lack a better term), when is that since that they are not on the list? With BFL at 1pm? This is starting to be stressful...

My anger against what is wrong in the Bitcoin community is productive:

Well if they come out and say it's X GH/s and Y H/j _now_ then if:

(1) these numbers are above their advertised specs, but the final product is still above advertised but not quite as due to cooling, firmware, etc. people will feel cheated. (e.g. do good and they still hate you)

(2) if these numbers are below the advertised specs people who are waiting until the 31st to fund attorneys to commence litigation will start now, and dealing with it will distract them from shipping a product.

About the only gain— from a purely utilitarian perspective— that can come from more details is trying to pull in some more pre-orders.  Though personally I think all of us would love to hear more, I can understand why a conservative approach may win even without any disaster.

It is 2 hahes per clock.  Each core is actually a "dual core" capable of 2 nonces per clock.  So cut your speed requirement in half.

96 engines * 2 * 4 = 768 nonces per clock.   400 GH/s = 400,000 MH/s / 768 = 520 Mhz.  Now that assumes 100% yield which is never going to be the case but say 550% with 90% core yield would achieve ~ 400 GH/s.

Now the radio silence is bad news, what bad news not sure but The chips as designed were designed to operate around 500 Mhz not 1.1 Ghz and processed 2 nonces per core.

I must have missed that.... if they only need to run 500Mhz though, what's all the fuss with the substrate?

Edit: Oh by the way, this IS two SHA2 operations per clock right? Not two SHA operations per clock, which is the norm for SHA2, just wanna be clear.

Yes it is two full SHA256(SHA256()) "Bitcoin hashes" at least according to the protocol doc.  Even at ~500 Mhz (400 GH/s) @ 0.6 J/GH we are talking 300W or if you assume 0.7V nominal 430 amps.  Compare that to the only other high current design, KNC and each board is "only" 180W or 250A.  430A is a lot of power so "only 500 Mhz" is still a power challenge.

Is this hash rate spike:
http://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rate related to the latest developments at HashFast?
Or it's all because of another company shipping/testing their hardware?

In other news...

CoinTerra announces one or two week delay

I spoke with "Peter" on the phone last Friday (December 6th) and he said that the first deliveries will be pushed back 7-10 days...so I doubt anyone will receive anything this year.

CoinCraft Delays in December batch units

    Posted on December 10, 2013

    in Coincraft series, News

Due to a shift in the production of our CoinCraft A1 chip, a three weeks delay affecting December-batch units has just been announced.

Nobody likes to hear about late deliveries, especially in the Bitcoin mining world. While we tried to do everything we could to carefully plan the delivery terms, sometimes delays still happen in places where you have no control of them. This is the case of what happened yesterday, when we had a conference call with the supplier of the chip to follow up with the delivery schedule of the CoinCraft A1 ASIC chips, which were supposed to arrive at Bitmine’s assembly plant this week. Unfortunately, the production of the silicon wafers used by our chips has been delayed by three weeks from the factory, effectively forcing us to delay the December batch orders.

BlackArrow still hasn't taped-out?

Does anyone know if these guys have actually taped out? I find it extremely hard to believe that they will deliver anything in February if they have not taped out yet...

Not yet. They do need to tape out asap if they want to hit a Feb date.

There's been a bit of a delay at the foundry on our chips and scheduling. The sample chips have been delayed a few weeks (still waiting on an exact date)

Yeah, and Hashfast... Does not even have the balls to give a "2 weeks".  Grin

What about the guys that are responsible for this spike?

Is this hash rate spike:
http://blockchain.info/charts/hash-rate related to the latest developments at HashFast?
Or it's all because of another company shipping/testing their hardware?

KnC November Batch. If HF would test stuff they would post proof.

Obviously the question is to mister Iceshill , I won't quote somebody who is in the ignore list of 90% people interested in this thread.
