I have a couple of questions I haven't found any answers to.  I asked a couple times on the other forum, but never got a response.  Maybe I should have started a new thread to ask.

Do the eight chip Drillbit boards have any provisions for hardware and software temperature monitoring?  What are the safe  operating temp thermal specs on the boards?

On a side note...I am a Linux noob.  Could some one help me out by posting a quick guide on how to build the Drillbit modified cgminer source on a rpi with raspbian wheezy?  I've tried doing it the way I do with the main branch, but haven't had any luck getting it to work.

Thanks!

Chad

I`ll post detailed instructions, when I`ll get my boards. Moreover, if DB boards has some additional features available via cgminer information queries - I`ll write a custom munin monitoring plugin to draw nice graphs.

My thumb arrived too :-)
[New Zealand, so it wasn't too far]

It's currently hashing away on a raspberry pi (re-compiled cgminer as per instructions on the drillbit forum)

Many thanks to Barntech for all his hard work

Shouldn't be a problem unless you didn't cash out some bitcoins recently. Even the last board I bought is worth twice or more as much in barntechs and your hands.

If we followed bitcoin prices and added more product  to the buyer as value went up you'd have alot more product to deal with and I'd have a full board set.

p.s you can always give me some cheepy's with batch 3 when that comes along if you have too much money lying around ;P.

Bah Im in BTC for the long haul, try to avoid selling BTC whenever possible.
As for a batch 3, all I can say are things are being worked on, and that Let us get 1+2 done first Smiley

Did you find a shipper that takes bitcoin. That would be interesting.

Also a question for you and barntech... Is there tracking for the thumbs going out? I'm expecting one and want to watch its path from Sydney to the U.S. Its the farthest away I think I've bought with the chance for proper tracking.

I'm not rushing for batch 3 but I've just been thinking about what I'd want on one and it came out (I'll eventually have to start drawing and see what I come to) . Right now all I want is a final version of what ever is coming your way Wink.

boards aren't out yet thumbs are. I was hoping because of that I would see tracking information already. That what I said.

Yea, but do the thumbs have any tracking info?  When you get the board delivery after a quick run though where are they coming from for you. I seem to expect California.

Hey,

Yes all the thumbs went out last week and should be with you real soon. We have had word of them touching down in NZ and the UK so they're definitely out there. Has anyone in the U.S. received thumbs yet? Techman, i will chase yours tomorrow and see what its status is.

As for the boards, both packages mark as having left china see we're on our way. I have been furiously filling out shipping forms so we are ready to roll as soon as they arrive. My room is filled with boxes and bubblewrap  Wink. I know Bobsag is also poised and ready on his end. The second these bad boys hit our shores they will be turned around to you guys.

Anyone who is about to go away and concerned about packages arriving on time, hit me up and we can sort out a short term hosting thing until you're back.

As for Batch 3, it's up in the air at the moment but i'm hoping we can do something, maybe even before Christmas. If you are interested, i have set up this form for expressions of interest. I know how much you guys all love my forms.  Wink Jump on there and let me know hoe many boards you might be up for.

Just posting a little note for others here.  I have made a guide on how to compile the Drillbit CGMiner for Raspbian on the Drillbit forums found here: http://drillbitsystem.com/forum/index.php?topic=191.0

This guide is just for those that are running Raspbian on their Raspberry PI who wish to do it themselves.  If it is wanted I can actually attempt to make a .DEB file to simplify it.  If anyone wants me to post it on that post and I'll get to work on it as soon as I can.

Unofficial news says the drillbit thumbs are attacking from the west coast of the United states. I still have no idea what the delivery frame is for registered mail to me being on the "east" coast but I'm hoping once mine is sorted in California local mail will give a better time frame.

Just ordered RPi. Hope I could get it soon and set it up before the boards come. Thanks for that, hope I understand :p as I never try my hands on RPi.

Hi there, you've taken the price of the boards off of the first page, so any chance you can let us know how much they are / were roughly please so we can then decide how many we'd like for round 3 if it happens?

Thanks,

Vert.
