I opened port 2999 on my router and wrote it in the .cfg.

I also made rules for my firewall
(both ingoing and ingoing)
- dont block 2999
- dont block gridcoin-qt

Nope.

qt says "config is empty" (while the gridcoin.cfg is really not empty)

I installed gridcoin in the standard-folder: c:\programm files (86x)\gridcoin

I can't sync gridcoin-qt: no blocksource available.

I wrote the gridcoin.cfg and saved it in the appdata/gridcoin-folder, but when I start qt I get the message: configuration file emptry.

Can somebody help?

edit: I had the issue in already in january. On my PC gridcoin-qt doesn't work, on the laptop it does. Now I hoped with the new version of gridcoin it could work. I have another router and another network-car since then, but it hadn't changed.

I tried it with disabled firewall and anti-virus. Does gridcoin use a special port that I have to open on my router? Or can I just open some port that is currently unused and file it in the .conf?

(what I don't understand is why the qt can't read the .conf)

It should be .conf rather than .cfg, I think. Your note mentions both. It might be worth rechecking the filename you used on the PC.

Edit: Sorry - I missed the part where you say you have already done that.

coudl you try removing all the nodes, just use the supernode.grodcoin.us

Note: I defined the folder of boinc + boincdata. Did I do something wrong?

I downloaded the blocks, this worked, but after it I had no sync again. Difference is I am now just 12 weeks instead of 49 behind.

Tried it again. Deleted "rpcport=" from the .conf. Allowed gridcoin to go through the firewall, opened ports 32760 and 9050 in the router.

edit: as I also run bitcoin-qt (not at the moment) and have run dogecoin-qt and also bevore auroracoin-qt and megacoin it definitely has to be a problem with the gridcoin-software in special.

yeah, it's working!

I don't know why.

What I did:

- deletet a strange folder in c:/programm files (x86) named boost interprocess (I wondered two days ago wtf this is, and someone on stackexchange advised to delete it if bitcoin qt makes a problem synchronising)
- disabled proxy sock
- disabled map port using UpnP

Now I'm gonna sync and than see if mining will work --

Gridcoin Classic Alert!

 

This is an important early warning message for the Classic wallet.

 

We will be hard forking the wallet client over the weekend and everyone including exchanges will need to upgrade.

 

The hard fork cannot be done at a specific block number as this change involves a protocol upgrade - that is a static piece of the wallet and cannot be changed by block number.

 

We will have the new block payment schedule in the wallet that goes in effect on Oct 20th, 2014.  So full block payments will still be paid in classic up to that date.  On the 20th the block payment drops to 10 grc and does not require as strict boinc participation level (more details on that will be available).

 

This change is necessary to prevent fraudulent compiled versions of the wallet from burning coins through the exchange system, and, obviously for the new retirement phase.

 

We are anticipating a new version of the wallet around noon tomorrow (9-27-2014) I.E. 30 hours from now.  Unix Time: 1411822800.

 

I will contact CC-ex and Poloniex over the weekend.  Feel free to post on BTCtalk.  Ill post on both sites when the version is close to being ready for release.
