I've noticed that in cold room AntMiners are less stable, cause they drop fan RPM and thus farther from the fan side overheats even more. Temperature gradient becomes sharper in the cold room.

We need a means to control the fan settings. I would like to set lower target temperature but it seems cgminer just ignores --bitmain-fan and --bitmain-temp settings
Interesting.
I'm using a 2Pin cable now which will run the fan at full speed. Makes allot of noise but I don't care that much. Let's see if this will make it more stable.

xxoxoxxo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo
oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo oooooooo

178 Gh/s
Freq OC to 375
Connected via WIFI

Pretty happy with this after all of the setup issues but...

Is this acceptable/common on these machines having 5 chips out of service?

no, its not. you should have all chips in operation always if possible. reboot the unit and see if that helps. otherwsie, check your PSU. at 375MHz you will need at least a 450W 12V rail, preferably 600W on a single 12V rail

Must be the psu. Running an OCZ 550W +80 having two modular pci, one for each board. What if I have 800 two rail? Enough to OC to 400 MHz? Otherwise what brand is advisable for single rail that splits into 2 6pin pci? Thanks
Corsair 1000 or 1200Gold or Platinum could be enough for 2 OC Antminer.
I run 2x 200GH AntMiner on Seasonic X-series 1050W Gold and they take 830W from the wall.
http://img600.imageshack.us/img600/3074/ewzl.jpg

Very nice setup. Thanks. I'm now getting 202Gh with no 'x' on boards after reboot. Wall is 240V which may help. But all is good for now (except increasing difficulty)!

2x 180GH - powered by 850W Gold PSU

The web config seems to be on port 80.

I had it running very stable for approx 8 hours but it started beeping again and stopped mining until I turned off the PSU completely.
The temperatures shown in the web gui are 21 and 27 degrees Celsius.

Such temps could be because miner does not hash. When start then temp will rise.
My antminer are in the room without heat turn on and hashing at 180Ghs temp under 40c fan 2500rpm. (usualy its temp are:38-40c max).

AntMiner need 6pin. 4pin connector is for CPU not for PCIE.

I'm on firmware 11/29 still. I see there is a 12/12 update however. But regardless. Every 2-3 days, I come to find something errors and causes my miner to go from all o to all x. The memory usage shoots up as well. I usually have about 78% free and when it Xs out it has less than 40% free. A reboot fixes it. The temps are pretty constant around 47-48. No cover single fan. No OC either. It doesn't seem to really affect the hash rate though.

How can I tell what firmware version I'm running?

All I found was this:

Code:
root@antMiner:~# cat /etc/Bitmain_version
20130830
cgminer-036c7b7
luci-36af0e9
cgminer-openwrt-packages-2d35bfc+

...which doesn't really correspond to the firmware versions I see available for download.

New Factory Default Reset Button

Predd and hold down this little bitty black round switch for at least 3 seconds while AntMiner is powered on.

If the reset worked, then your Antminer's IP will revert back to either 192.168.1.99 or 198.168.2.99

Hi guys i just got my first 2 antminer setup, everything is running stable at default setting (thank you sushi for the guide).  I do have a few questions if anyone can help:

1) On the antminer webpage status it shows ~180GH, however in my slush pool account status it is showing an average of only 170GH, does anyone know why or if there is anything i should change?

2) My temp is showing around "47", can the miner be run at this temperature for extended period of time without issue

3) Should i overclock to 200GH? so far everyone doesnt seem to have much problem with it. Each of my antminer is hooked up to its own 600W certified power supply from ocz so i dont think power will be an issue, more concerned about temperature.

4) Can i plug 4x antminer running on 4x 600W power supply into 1 power strip which in turn plugs into 1 ac wall outlet in the US?

thank you!

Instruction is a bit incorrect. First change the WAN IP according to your router settings, connect it to your router and access it on new IP, then try to change pool settings. It should work. If ANT is still connected directly to your computer you can't change the settings as it tries to access some openwrt hosts IIRC.

OK i managed to fix it. i had to set ntp pools closer to my country (Australia) but the front end didnt apply settings to the back end so i had to ssh into it to set these settings.

Still was not workign but it has suddenly started working :\

just a heads up - the ip on that antminer should be 192.168.2.13 - the leading zero is not required, and you will not find the miner if you are looking for the ...013 IP

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Look at the first line of the kernel log. (Linux version) Date is at the end of that line.

One of the miners still has too many HW errors even after the update to newer version 29.11.2013.

I have noticed on github that antminer posted even newer software I'm just not sure if I should try to install that one.

Did you flash newest software ?

Thank you

Now updated to 12.12.2013 version and still same a ton of HW errors.
Blades have 0000000 everywhere so that is ok.

I'm using Corsair CX750M PSU which should be enough for one miner.
However I have two miners connected to one socket on extension lead. Is it ok or I'm asking for trouble ?
