Pretty sure any money players had on  grid. I never played on grid but I heard people saying that grid was bought by seals when they closed shop it was months if not over a year ago. Poker dominicano had the best software of bitcoin sites but think the owner was unrealistic when he tried to sell it when they went under. Like I said I could be wrong as to whether seals bought grid but I recall people saying that when grid closed its doors.

If the beta version which includes mixed and draw games with that software of Grid Poker posted is officially launched when Seals comes back online all will be instantly forgiven and well worth the wait. That being said, we are going on 18 hours of silence, however given that most of the ST6 team likely resides in Las Vegas and the West Coast, it is still only 9am there as of now. I wouldn't get worried until we hit the 24 hour mark, certainly within 6 more hours something will be revealed, patience my fellow seals action junkies....

@samya  if grid was still opened could give you the link but alas grid closed thats why the speculation if it is the software that seals bought. Try nitrogen eu they have some freerolls as well as mtts and ring not heavily trafficked though. Nitrogen poker has by far the worst software I have ever played on though they are trying.

As long as their website hasn't been replaced with big FBI and Homeland Security logos - a la Black Friday, I'm not worried.

From their website:

Down for Maintenance

Please check our Twitter, @SealsWithClubs, for updates. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Don't cry, Seals will be back soon. Check our twitter feed for updates.

Seals should def take their time trotting out new software and do massive beta testing. I have played on a ton of sites that upgraded and were obviously not ready to go live. I am not really a huge fan of all the side games but other people seem to be. Never really got into baduci badugi triple draw lowball though have played them all.  I checked out open faced chinese  looks like I will be sticking to plo and holdem.

Someone wrote in 2013:

"Grid reminds me of the early PokerStars days of poker" which sounds good to me, and "the client is very slick".

But don't expect to see it when Seals comes back on line.

You should hurry up! It seems SWC won't be the biggest poker room accepting BTC for a long time.

With the new software, Seals should aggressively promote themselves to PokerStars players.  There is unhappiness there about the high rake, and especially so with Omaha players.

Target the medium and high stakes players.  Ask them what they want.  Give it to them.

+ Even if Stars accepts BTC, they wouldn't accept US players which is really most of Seals' current traffic.

In a lot of other countries, people find it hard to get their money on Stars due to the grey area of gambling laws and banks not allowing direct deposits. They usually have to rely on buying stars dollars through friends or other poker players in their country.
I think a lot of those people find it easier to purchase bitcoins(atleast for me) , than Pokerstars $'s , and that might increase the number of those there.

Definitely.

I just meant that I don't expect Seals to lose traffic over it because the current players are mostly from US and will probably still play at Seals.

Better yet, there might be more players at Seals if more poker players educate about bitcoin because of Stars accepting it Smiley

Well depends. Would not be a big hit, but seals might take a hit. I for one prefer playing the tournaments up at stars than on Seals. People who do as well, might head to Stars for the tournies.
Even for playing HU, there aren't a lot of different people you can find on Seals, as most of the times its just the regs and some of the good players there. People who play those tables, would prefer the games over at stars.

But yes, as the majority of the players are from the US, then Stars accepting bitcoins won't really affect much.
