I always buy 100 coins per day.

g0re79: Please go home if you are not interested to buy now. Always complaining but not buying yourself when price is good Grin.
Price is far from "good". It's very low and dropping at an ever increasing rate compared to say LTC. I agree that Vert is now all but dead. Nice concept to be ASIC resistant, but the market has moved on, X11 is the new wonder ALT and no one cares about ASIC resistance anymore except the die-hard believers on this thread.  Be friendly to Multipools, they won't go away and learn from history that if you try to buck the market you will lose big time.

when KnC delivers their first Scrypt-Asics with 400 MH or more people will switch again to coins that are asic proof. and there it doesnt matter if a coin has x11 or lyra2. x11 got random in the last month. lyra2 is uniquer. only problem I see is the multipool thing as you mentioned.

Miners need to pay bills. If the price of vtc is low and you only can mine vtc with your lyra2-miner people won`t choose vtc. It isn`t profitable for them. So they will choose the multipool.
But if the price rises again and it will, everything will be good Smiley

for the moment the problem is not algo , the problem is the price because if the price of vertcoin would be higher the miners wiill mine even scrypt -n   ..... because they can make profit and sustain the network

The problem is multipools because they shoot down the price with their huge sales vertcoins for Bitcoins. Because lyra2 should have closed code. Otherwise,  will again appear shitcoins  with the copied lyra2 algorithm. This would again lead to a problem with multipools and less price. If  there lyra2  multipools resistant, vertcoins price will rise a lot. Vertcoin has a great future, we just need enough faith, work, patience and wisdom.

Agreed  , multipool will mine whatever they find as profitable and then hop onto another coin.

Lyra2 is already open source. Source for both Lyra and Lyra2 are here:

If you think your alt-coin dev is actually writing new encryption algorithms, then you don't know that much about alt-coin devs. Shit, it's not like even Satoshi had anything to do with sha256. I'm pretty sure no coin dev ever, anywhere has ever put together their own algorithm for a coin.

I am mean the actual implementation of miner. Do you think it can not be protected and thus prevent the emergence of vertcoin clones with  lyra2 algorithm?

Not really, no, and to be honest I hope they don't try. Do you think Darkcoin could have achieved it's current popularity/price if the dev tried to keep x11 closed source? I think it's (in part) because of all the x11 clones that drk became so popular. Did scrypt clones kill litecoin?

I don't think multipools are really a problem. They exist to mine and dump, which helps spread coins around, and it will be done by individual miners if it is really that profitable. There are no multipools for Monero or Boolberry or other CryptoNote coins, but I think there are plenty of professional miners mining and dumping, because they are the most profitable coins to mine at the moment.

The current price is the VertCoin requires the greatest concern, prices will naturally rise more miners, people will have more confidence. Now is not the tangled what problem, the first is the price! The VertCoin team need to quickly solve the price slump, application and marketing to develop better!

I think the best way to help is to just try and spend a few minutes everyday being active (with an optimistic slant) in the community, either here, on reddit, on the vertcoin forum, irc, twitter, or wherever you're online. If you can make applications or websites that use/support vert, even better, but I think everyone can help just by trying to put a few positive thoughts about vert online everyday. And try not to burn yourself, I guess Smiley

I just wonder if you have regular gpu miners, where else you go beside vtc ? I dont see any coin that is more profitable even at this vtc price.. and dont tell me a coin that dies after a week or 2

Well said.

Too many people panic over the price. Main thing is to be patient and positive. Vert has everything going for it.
Its not like Vert is alone with low prices; most coin markets have taken a huge hit. Smart traders are taking advantage of present prices and waiting it out.
