Hello everyone, look on charts httpst://bitcoinwisdom.com/markets/cryptsy/vtcbtc switch at 1h you will see very positive structure looks like three smiles
besides VERTCOIN is on the ground level, its mean from two weeks we are on the same level of price. and in here https://bitcoinwisdom.com we have % on plus! guys GREEN in 30 days period in general. It is clearly sign for investors to come back.
honestly thought it would be in late August and September. not now. it's time to buy of course in correction.

ps. cloakcoin price after dramatic dump, finally has less price than Vertcoin. and charts looks very bad.

The initial idea was to make pow alg adjustable. Why devs just can't fork from scrypt:2048 to scrypt:4096? It will cause the same effect to multipool  and fpga/ASIC mininig. It will help to gain time for Lyra2 implementation.

Yes, there is a mandate of Vertcoin to fork to higher 'n' of the scrypt-n algo when the ASIC/FPGA is out. Well, the scrypt-n FPGA is finally here now.  I doubt the devs know about this. They are busy with the Lyra2 implementation and they have not come into this forum nor the reddit (they have not posted anything) for a long time.  Perhaps someone who has a 'direct line' to the devs can let them know of the new ASIC/FPGA development.

Sapphire R9 290 Tri-X OC:
- Engine Clock: 867
- Memory Clock: 1250
- Hashrate: 387 kh/s

This is sweet spot for maximum power efficiency (R9 290).

MSI R9 270:
- Maximum settings all the year round

rdnkjdi and murders10: I think the temperature is a bit over 30 °C. I know that undervolting is better than underclocking, but if you do both and find the sweet spots you can save money and protect your hardware, too . The downclock is only for additional power efficiency. I could also run it at 1040/1500 (R9 290). Summarized (for R9 290), the best efficiency is given between 867 and 947 MHz with sweet spots at 867, 925 and 947 MHz using memory clock 1250 . Currently i'm mining at 925/1250 which gives me 402 kh/s. Alltogether, Lyra2 is along the way and i think that's a good time to discuss about settings again. Then i may be mining at maximum settings .

Or are you referring to the cloud mining contract that can do Scrypt-N or X11.. as in the FPGA.. and as we know FPGAs arent as efficient as GPUs at scrypt/scrypt-n. So its better to use a gpu mining contract than a fpga one with scrypt-n

If Scrypt ASICs are made, scrypt-N ASICS can be also taped out but not for sale. May be it's a conspiracy theory, but why not to develop an ASIC with the similar algo, although it has (twice ?) more logic and higher memory bandwidth. ASICS are cheap at mass production, so there will be little price difference compared to scrypt ones.

The posted schedule of varying N factor makes it seem as if it would be profitable to build an ASIC even if it is only good for the time the schedule is in that N factor.
Concidering that current ASIC tech is completely obsolete in a matter of month's, the 2 year N factor hold would be no real barrier to building ASIC's for this coin.

I feel like that may be more effective in the long run. at least then you would need several machines to cover the gamut of N factors in play. And even if they had ASIC's they would not fair really well at the high N factors. leaving room for CPU's. GPU's and ASIC's to lay their claim on certain blocks but not others.

Maybe you haven't heard but the algo is being completely changed, there will be a hardfork in the next month or three to lyra2:
