According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

What with basic specs like number of coins to be issued and halving rates established, key network cryptocurrency goals like a widely based distribution model being accomplished thanks to additional coding that makes mining competitive for the average person, major security issues like 51% attack vulnerability having been practically eliminated, transaction speeds that will eventually match those of major credit cards, what else could we ask for on the base product side of things?

DGB is the most solid cryptocurrency in existence. Aside from cosmetic changes with wallets and the like, does anyone see a gap that needs to be addressed in the coin itself?

I've made this award, the golden troll, it is cast out of solid bull shit and sprayed gold!
No need to submit your nominees for this prestigious award, I suspect we already have a hands down winner!

Hear Hear!! It is impossible to double spend on digibyte. I will give anyone 10 million digibyte if they pull it off. This is how confident I am it is totally impossible!!

I believe they're working on additional features to DiguSign and getting CSGO or CS Go (Counter strike I believe) on DGB gaming.

Me and esoteric are working (albeit at an early stage) on a new digibyte related platform as well, more details to come when they come Smiley

PLEASE READ: Over the last few months ShapeShift has had various reports of various scamming accounts being created on our social media accounts, as well as copy cat websites. With this becoming more of an issues over the last month, we would like to make a few notes about how to avoid falling victim to these scammers. Please read our blog post about this so to protect your Digibyte transactions: http://bit.ly/1PhK20L

Thank you for your efforts to keep us better informed, and the best of luck in dealing with this problem.

The more transparent we can make things, and the more we embrace "the rule of law", the better. IMHO

The shitheads are the only thing holding us back. Wink

I just recently starting mining to the chrome wallet, but when I tried to send my DGB to poloniex it says my digibytes are "locked by pending payments"  I haven't been able to access them since then.  My DGB address is 3MDuNW9zotTc32p9R6TxVwPcDe71ASDHDT, they don't appear to be on the blockchain at all...

In the wallet scroll down on the main screen and you should see your pending payment. Click on it and reject it (or try send it again) and you will have access to your funds.

If you are serious about mining you should be using the core wallet rather than an SPV or lite wallet. This is true for all coins.

Seriously, everyone should be running a core wallet if they have a machine it will run on and if they are serious about DigiByte, be pulling it off poloniex into it rather than the other way round but hey ho, cheaper dgb does not come out of thin air.

I say, if you think the reason we all got screwed was because the banks didn’t have block chain technology then go for it!  Personally , I don’t.

By a consortium of bankers with a "a private 'permissioned' blockchain" based on ethereum!

Mike Hearn just lost all credibility.

Banks consider the blockchain just as a lowcost way to manage their books. In the short run it will enable the innovators to push the old banks out of the market, but on the long run it will be easier for people to start their own banks and compete with the innovators.

The centralized blockchains that are created as a result of this will only be able to survive if regulation is strict and joining a centralized one gives people an advantage over decentralized ones. They managed to do it with music, so I believe the banks might succeed. I just hope the decentralized mass will win in the end, but stakes are high.

Hearn is a sell-out, because he probably made the same assumptions and decided to go for the big money on the short run...

That sounds like a fair assessment to me. The truth is, that trying to solve the world’s serious problems through conviction and together will not pay your bills any time today.
