is it normal for the new wallet to take ages to open ?
It's not the fastest wallet out there but I wouldn's say it takes ages to open It depends on your HDD or SSD. Maybe this issue could be fixed with the next update. still waiting didnt take this long with the old 1's edit: up and running now mining on the MP happy days

Second time starting it is quick enough. Question to devs about pos. Do i understand right that pos wil start as from block 450.000? And only from that block we get the first pos ?

Another MP delayed payout because of crapsy API issues. Maybe it's time to look for a different exchange.

@tsjaar It is another API issue, it's not us it is coinmarketcap.com, they have had this happen before and fixed it, so don't worry it won't be long until we're back up. Retrotowers.co.uk has started accepting Ultracoin! If you like retro video games please give them your patronage as businesses that we support will support us!
Keep requesting that Ultracoin be accepted at these businesses: http://ultracointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.msg278#new
Getting on coinpayments is on only half the battle! We are already past the hard part, let businesses know that you demand that they use your preferred currency. Continue the push!

On ultracoin.net, just visit "wallet" and you'll see a Linux version. The link redirects to Github, there you can either download the source as zip or clone it. Then, you can compile manually or use the .pro file - works like a charm

@devs we need turn the reward of each block from 15 to 5,which make the output from 15000 to 5000,and at this price ,we can buy more than 10000 utc from multipool's hashrate. the price will go up then.
if this does not work, we should turn to FULL POS.
consider it very carefully
We don't here from the devs... fabitech said to wait a view hours or days and then big news would be announce. One thing is for sure, the devs like to keep things exciting because they are very silent about "the big thing" .... @devs; can you tell us some more what is your strategy? Are you going to reduce the blockreward fro 15 to 10, 8 or 5? Is the minecraft plugin ready? Are you making UTC a full pos coin? Is there a other big thing going to happen? So come on and let the community now about your plans !

There were rumors that around Q4 of 2014 there will be Scrypt-N ASIC Miners! Now that this it is getting to look like true - Is the dev. team planing anything to counter that?
Heard that Vertcoin team is planing of ... something, maybe this is a chance to put UTC ahead in the game, make it Scrypt-N ASIC resistant.

Have to call BS on this one. Doubt that there will ever be any scrypt asics for N-coins because you'd need a new miner every time the N-factor changes.

Keep promoting Ultracoin to those businesses people! The more stores that accept Ultracoin, the more demand for UTC there is! The more value UTC has in the long run, and most importantly, the more things you can buy! Spend some time getting Ultracoin accepted by sending a message to the vendors here: http://ultracointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.msg278#new
Your message can be as simple as a sentence and as long as several paragraphs, the community pitching Ultracoin will go a long way! Businesses will find it in their economic self-interest to accept Ultracoin when they know customers are demanding that they accept it! Being accepted on coinpayments.net is only half the battle, the rest is up to you! We already have 3 businesses accepting Ultracoin in the past 24hrs. Let's see how many more we can get on board! Spend some time writing a message and send them out to each businesses on the list. Your small investment will go a long way for the future of the coin. Acceptance is key to a currencies success, let's leave Ultracoin's mark on the economy!

Hey guys, I have been working on a new physical wallet that incorporates PVC plastic just like credit cards. The cards come with a security film (although not visible in the pictures), vivid, high DPI prints, embossed lettering (just like on a credit card), QR codes for your UTC public address and private key, and the choice of adding any design that you would like, including photo ID and signature. You also have the option of including a holographic overlay on the card and the choice between PVC and PVC-PET plastic (depending on the need for durability). The cards themselves would probably last years depending on the usage, the protective overlay defends the card from wear and tampering, and the embossing adds a custom look and feel to the card while also protecting from theft and loss. Right now this is just a prototype I whipped together, I'm not too keen at graphic design. If someone wants to step up and make some real designs that would be great! This is just a concept I put together, if anyone's interested in helping with the project PM me. http://ultracointalk.org/index.php?topic=139.0

This is true yes,but UTC is not affected (safe) and not q4 but q3 flowertech: "Finally, we are thrilled to announce a huge milestone in both ASIC development and the Scrypt mining community. The Flower Technology ASIC is now capable of mining Scrypt-N, up to N=16384 in addition to Scrypt proof-of-work coins. This will future-proof your purchase for expanded mining options and increased versatility. Examples of Scrypt-based coins you can mine with our machines includes Litecoin, Dogecoin, Isracoin, Auroracoin, Feathercoin, while examples of Scrypt-N coins you can mine with our machines includes Vertcoin, execoin, GPUcoin, CaiShen and PANDA." https://www.flowertechnology.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Accouncement-29_04_14.pdf

Hey there,
now that the weekly PoS comes into effect soon, i finally managed to setup a dedicated GNU/Linux box (an Asus EEE PC, which seems to be quite energy efficient for the purpose of running 24/7). After i had all needed tools, programs and libraries installed, the compiling went through after some errors. Now the client runs smoothly and downloads the blockchain. I'm using the same wallet there which I'm currently using on my notebook I'm using for everyday stuff.
Although I'm planning to uninstall the wallet from my notebook, I was asking myself this question: can it cause problems when two PCs are running the same wallet, especially when Stake Minting is enabled?
I'm asking because I still did not fully understand how PoS is being calculated (is 24/7 really necessary or if I'm e.g. 3.5 of 7 days online, will I get half PoS etc.). I could dive into the code to find out myself, but as I never ever worked with C++, I was hoping that maybe someone just knows it.

I also noticed something else on the cryptotrain site. Fastcoin was the scrypt coin being mined but 10 of the 27 blocks mined were orphaned. Why is the pool wasting resources on a coin with more than 33% orphaned blocks?
