To be honest, these sorts of deals and growth ambitions should be welcomed. They are going around the world educating people about an alternative way to do cross-border transactions without having to go through the banking system which has built a backbone that is hard to replicate and you have to pay a lot to use it.

That's why Ripple is doing well - its allowing small banks to connect globally without having to go through larger banks.

Is that what it's about?  I can't wrap my old head around so many of these coins!  Nor why they're doing so well, but yah, if small banks are using Ripple, then they've done something quite grand!

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

v0.11.0.11

This is the last protocol bump and we're moving back to testnet, sorry about all the
updates I just wanted DS to be as secure as possible before moving on to InstantX.

There's going to be 1 more version (11.0.12) after this with some stability fixes (still some segfaults
happing for some people).

- Protocol change: Masternode operators / Darksend users please update!
- Fix unlocking wallet on ds toggle event (UdjinM6)
- Fix incorrect DS txes + few small things including some cleanup / debugging (UdjinM6)
- Implemented DarkSend convertability (thx Aswan/UdjinM6/Minotaur for the idea)

Darksend defaults to a new mode which enables inputs/outputs
of each session to be different. For example 10DRK can be input
and 1DRKx10 can be output. This strengthens the anonymity of
Darksend greatly, which also increasing the usability (Users who
run out of .1DRK denominations can simply turn on Darksend to
split up larger inputs).

Anyone gotten money out of Mintpal? I have a friend who's DRK is stuck in there.

Managed to get my DRK out but I was really on the ball and probably one of the first to request their money... What were others experience?

For me, I had a lot on mintpal, around 70+ coins if I remember correctly.  I was on edge since everyone was kind of talking about mintpal being quirky, and that being a bad sign.  When it went down, I was really worried but the second it went back online, I withdrew and got my coins.  I feel very lucky that I did.

It's really sad what happened there, especially to the people who's baby mintpal was.  They let a con man in the door and lost it all.  You can see why so many laws were created to protect the stock market and banking industries.  Unfortunately, none of them really work and the whole infrastructure attracts the same kind of con men only they just make the rules now and play the game longer without being caught.

I got to play with IX for the littlest of times, it sent cold chills down my spine  Wink
No one has addressed this, but vertoe's port of Darkcoil is just surreal. When InstantX is implemented, it will shame Ripple.

No more "oooh, Darkcoin has a bad name and will be forever associated to darkmarkets"
Seriously, I love anon, that's how I got here, but IX will elevate cryptos to a entirely new plateau of awesomeness.

If we kick off IX quick enough into mainnet, we will own 2015.

Plus, we are going to push the fungibility aspect of Darkcoin going forward, in my mind, Darksend is an equalizer engine that makes all coins the same improving fungibility and making Darkcoin a real currency. I can see a video where coins of different colors go into the Darksend machine and all come out Darkcoin blue (Is that a color now?)  A coin should be agnostic, Bitcoins should not be self aware of what they were used for, Darkcoin is better as a currency, and I think using denominations 1 10 100, etc, make the human aspect of things a lot easier to understand than other approaches. I am really excited about the latest developments of Darksend, fungibility is the word!

Darkcoil is the name of the wallet Vertoe created prior to Darkcoin v11, porting Bitcoin 0.9.3 and making it work with Darkcoin but without masternodes, IX or Darksend. It was the base for Darkcoin Core v11.

Think of it as the stable, non-DS releases v9's before everything got merged. It's the wallet without Darksend. I believe Vertoe just ported those builds and updated them respectively with all the new changes leaving out the DS/masternode portion like before.

Darkcoil is the wallet that Vetoe did a few weeks back porting Bitcoin 0.9.3. It didn't have Darksend and worked great. I believe it has been used as the base for Darkcoin Core now.

I would like to improve my understanding of the pros and cons of various anon technologies.

If I set up an online business that I want to be private, using Darksend it will still be obvious that I am suddenly receiving lots of coins, right?

And I gave a legit answer. Bitcoin started on the basis that people were never suppose to be reusing the same address over and over again per tx.
