With the reference node being removed, how long before DASH becomes self-aware?  =P

I am deeply disturbed.

Please vote NO! on any AI propositions, thank you.

Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

From one of the original masternode testnetters...been away for a little while, v.12 hit the scene, and it seems like I'm back to masternode kindergarten.

This next update is a monster!

You can say that again, yet it's working beautifully.  This next release is achieving a lot.  First, the reference node is gone, that was a big one.  But second, the proposal system and payment by blockchain is also going to be implemented.  Imagine what it takes!  And they got it right, just tweeking here and there and we're almost  done Smiley
Someone here (I don't remember who) was speculating that the reference node would be the last barrier to bring down to gain big boy's interest.

Wasn't that iceberger?

Some reading,
http://www.paymentssource.com/news/technology/a-very-public-confluct-over-private-blockchains-3021831-1.html?pg=1
'This scheme could end up looking like Citigroup's new cryptocurrency, aptly named Citicoin, for cross-border payments. Banks could start deploying their own cryptocurrency networks, available only to their customers. These transactions would then be cleared over the Bitcoin network, which could lower costs for the banks and their customers, especially when dealing with international funds transfer.'

Yes, but as Andreas Antonopoulos said a couple of times last week, their solution is to centralize the blockchain, which isn't even a new technology, as blockchain ledgers are indeed the first forms of writing tens of thousands of years ago.  Their plan doesn't decentralize their blockchain, it's a proprietary blockchain.  They're just using the new term "blockchain" to hype their product, leaving the "decentralized" portion out.  Of course, the decentralizing of the blockchain is the real innovation Smiley

I wonder how long I can ramble on inserting the word blockchain into sentences over and over again???....

Ripple labs doesn't have a trustless network, no bank will be able to get a trustless network going because some banks are so powerful, they will monopolize the network.  So their only choice is to use Bitcoin.  And at this time, Bitcoin can't handle the load required.  But I would think that they will eventually be able to handle it, and banks will use it.  I think Bitcoin's future is the store of value, like AA said in his recent talks this past week, and for the rest of us, it will be the gateway into whichever crypto currency is best suited to our needs.  I think Bitcoin will be how the world eventually cashes out of fiat and into crypto, but it won't stay in Bitcoin, it will distribute to the alt coins.  Personally, I believe DASH will be the main crypto for daily use to those who want a divorce from the banking system because of it's instantX technology.  Otherwise, people can also simply use the same setup with credit cards that is available today.  You can lead the people to water but you can't make them drink (this is called waterboarding)

for all you windows users out there : http://www.zdnet.com/article/microsoft-releases-emergency-patch-for-critical-windows-flaw/

Quote
Microsoft has released an emergency out-of-band patch for a critical flaw, affecting all supported versions of Windows.

The software giant said in an advisory Monday that the vulnerability, if exploited, could "allow remote code execution if a user opens a specially crafted document or visits an
untrusted webpage that contains embedded OpenType fonts."

"An attacker could then install programs; view, change, or delete data; or create new accounts with full user rights," the advisory added.

In other words, a previously undisclosed flaw in the way Windows handles certain fonts can allow a hacker to take over an entire machine.

Users running Windows Vista, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and Windows RT are all affected, including those running Windows Server 2008 and later. A Microsoft spokesperson confirmed in an emailed statement that Windows 10 Insider Preview is also affected.

DASH Solves Bitcoin’s Lack Of Privacy Problem

DASH solves Bitcoin's lack of privacy like a cargo cult's bamboo plane solves their lack of chocolate and cigarettes.

iCEBREAKER he's name is Eduardo deCastro a known scammer https://hashfastscam.wordpress.com/2014/01/02/scam-starts-at-the-top-with-ceo-of-hashfast/ also trying so hard to push every one else buttons so he can make even more money.

Haha that beautiful Dox. Was this known for a while? I love seeing the dumb faces behind internet trolls.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014
