Geepers, I haven't opened my bitcoin wallet since January or so (for good reason) and now I'm trying to sync and got from 25 weeks behind to 9 weeks behind, and now it says 11 weeks behind!  I'm going backwards!  How?  And it's been 3 freakin days!!!  I fear I have to -reindex.  Geepers, Bitcoin sucks!  Thank God Evan is constantly speeding up and honing Dash so we sync up super fast (though I know our blockchain is younger, you can't deny that it syncs up lightening fast!)

I expect that with right approach Possibility to earn money with "Dash Funding System" can attract more attention and newcomers, than PoW coins have attracted with mining.

Promoting Dash now for"normal consumers"is a complete waste of time and money,it's not the right time yet to go out and think that normal consumers will buy it,there is no place to buy something with Dash,there is just no market yet,merchant adoption is the first step that should be done,then you have a market where people can buy stuff with Dash.
In general it's very hard and stupid to throw any money in marketing right know for the people outside the Crypto market and expect that the normal people will buy any cryptocoin.
I think it's better to spend the funds to actively contact/vistit big company's like overstock,Tiger Direct,Bitcoin ATM makers to explain what Dash is and how easily they can accept/implement it because it's based on Bitcoin.Also they can setup masternode's with the coins they get from the people that buy stuff,they can earn intrest on what they earn with sale's,now they have to convert the Bitcoins to $,for Dash it means price rise and a bigger budget for development,it's 1 very big plus Dash has!Also mobile wallets needs to be inplace before you go out and spread the worth"buy Dash now".The technical side of Dash keeps on improving and in my eye's almost no other Cryptocoin can compete on that level and i thank Evan and his team for that,you are incredible!

Dash Budgeting System is not only (and on first stage not the main part) about "advertising". Hope MN OPs are wise enough to vote for most effective spendings (according to general strategy that Evan has announced).

And it is also a good way to attract new people into Dash. Not declaring "Everybody - buy some DASH!" but "Everybody who can develop and promote - get some DASH!"

All your points are valid, only it's sort of the "which came first, the chicken or the egg" syndrome.  In my opinion, we have to attack it from all fronts at the same time.  Joe Public isn't going to spend a lot of time learning how all this works.  Instead, he has to be told about it over and over, then see it in stores, become curious. What's in it for him?  Really?  Interesting.... maybe I'll try downloading the wallet.

And in the meantime, we start with the merchants as well.  Maybe by directing people in the Tourist trade to accept it so they can make more sales to people who don't want to deal with exchanging their fiat currency.  I don't know, my point is, we have to do the shotgun approach.  Everyone at once.

Each proposal will have it's own thread on dashtalk.  The merits and drawbacks can (and should) be discussed as long as necessary.  Most likely much longer than necessary.  This is a very good thing.

You're right.  I did download the .11 version, but didn't reindex due to fear.  But I bit the bullet and reindexed and it's now at 2 years 48 weeks, which is lightening fast compared to how it used to be, thank god!
