Last year (about 15 months ago) I decided to invest a certain amount in DASH. By doing that, my time horizon was (and is) of several years. In fact, the drop in price and the panic selling, the dump after stealing and whatever happened didn't change my opinion about how cool dash is.

Then I had a lot of personal issues; i wasn't able to follow the project on a weekly base, giving just a look at my masternodes to be sure that they were up.

In the very last days i came back, trying to recover all i lost. And i was impressed.

DASH made a lot of stuff. I was informed about the budgeting system, but is much better. I knew about the voting system, but via dashwhale it's so easy. I know about running a node, but a lot of great services are now running at a fair price that take a bit of your yearly ROI off but nothing more that a couple points given the expenses they have.

And probably there is a lot more i don't know. So - tell me whatever else i should read. I don't get the tech stuff, but i trust ed and all the core team. I like and understand of mktg and communication. And I think we should do more on that side. Give me more stuff to read Smiley

Overall, this is something that might change the world, and one day it will be great to tell to our sons and nieces "Hey, I was part of it since the beginning"

Thank you all for your great job

Has anyone created a graph of the percentage of Dash tied up in masternodes over time? Is it increasing? Decreasing? Staying constant?

I mean if you take into account the total amount of Dash, which is also increasing. So it would be the the number of masternodes times 1000 divided by the total number of Dash.

It seems to me that the Dash network difficulty has been dropping.  My wimpy p2pool payouts have doubled to trippled.  With new asics, why would the difficulty be dropping?  I suppose miners could be mining other coins (and we all know the ASICs were being "tried out" for months most likely, so our hash rate had risen well before delivery and now of course, the hash rate drops as they're unplugged and for sale.

So, either miners are mining elsewhere, Asics have been disconnected for delivery, or a combo of the two?  What do you all think?

Well, we figured it would draw in about half the available coin supply, however it's actually more.  So we have 6,321,324 coins and ~ 3640 MNs.  Half would be 3160.  I think it will slow down soon unless the fees collected go up significantly.  As the number of MNs increase, the payouts decrease per MN due to a larger pool sharing the income.

X11 ASICs might have switched to XC, which is rumored to be alive and possibly making a comeback.   Huh

I think that public awareness of the project is very low; Dash is much more exciting than BC from just every perspective and the dev team (that whoever worked in a company with ANY kind of development knows as the most important thing) is simply astonishing. Indeed we should work more.

I'll go to vote on some proposal (very easy with dash whale Smiley)

I can't get to cast a vote

I am using the privkey, but it says it's in the wrong format, and i dumped that from wallet. So any help to understand where to get the eventually correct one it's great

I was almost good at setting the master nodes with the addresses Smiley

I think you have to use the masternode private key, not that of your coins are stored (pretty dangerous to share your wallet private key!!!)

I don't know how you run your masternode, but what I do is vote from the command line of the wallet. I unlock the wallet for a little while and just use the mnbudget vote command. Somehow that works for me and vote-many does not.

you don't have to unlock your wallet to vote!
Additionally, you can use an empty wallet.dat so you don`t expose the coins on the net.

True, simply use empty wallet with the masternode.conf file you use for your nodes.
Do not expose your wallet with the coins if you don't have to.
Happy Easter to all of you.

I still don't get why I can't cast a vote via dash whale. It doesn't recognize the privkeys; the walletpassphrase wasn't used

What command do you use, masternode genkey or dumpprivkey?
You should use masternode genkey.
