Why are people margin lending on polo for such low rates? Having your money sitting on a centralized exchange is already super high risk, and then you compound that risk by loaning the money to others. Especially the longer term loans, where you can't even get your low rate money to withdraw if the exchange gives any warning of a cryptsy/mt gox/mintpal/etc... type situation.
A masternode gets better returns than a lot of the loans I see on polo, AND there is no risk of losing your coins.
If you are gonna be risky as hell with your money, at least demand high interest rates (1% or more)
Also, if you can't afford a masternode, several highly reputable members offer partial MN services.

Agree 100% on the risk part but when it comes to returns any rate above 0,0328% on polo is better than masternode returns. It's a daily interest not annual.

Yea, but in fairness to masternode returns, they compound weekly (ish) when payment is made. Either way, I see loans all the time around that rate or lower, and that's in no way worth it when you factor in really high risk. Pretty much every major alt coin exchange has been hacked or exit scammed. It's not a matter of "if" but "when"

It's not a matter of "if" but "when" Maybe these thousands of Dash are just a small part of these people's portfolio which they won't regret losing in case of an exchange scam. Also the rates usually surge up to 2% when the price spikes so maybe they want to earn at least anything during calm periods while waiting for higher rates.

Crossposting from the Public Dash Slack Channel: "@dagrarian: Precisely. People aren't stupid, after last night's troll debacle they know what's up. We are creating our own identity in that thread, that's what I want to bring into focus. Positivity to the Dash Project. Thanks, Tao https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433982.0Sounds like our friends have moved their attack against DASH over to slack? A zero-sum game for them. They didn't come to Slack. That was a post by me, explaining the reasoning behind establishing that thread. The trolls have nothing. They know it. They will not continue to control the Dash discussion with spin and innuendo. Taking back our identity here is important, as this site has thousands of lurkers. Please, to you and all Dash Nation members, as this thread represents the image of our community, we can frame it through our posts. Dash is about optimism, progress and decentralization. Let's show that through our posts. We have every right to be positive and proud. We don't need to talk about competing coins. Let's inspire people, and let the trolls hang themselves.

Speculate market condition time! So it looks like the alt coin markets are starting to reverse trends (outside of ETH and XMR). What does this mean for DASH? Are we still in a cooling off period from our last big run up? Maybe someone who is good at TA could jump in and help a brother out? EDIT: It also looks like lending rates are lower than normal with record high DASH available. People don't seem to be taking out short positions at the moment.
