Cool, good start Mannie. Just a couple things that stand out:

-The DARKCOIN image on the grey bar gets a bit lost due to lack of contrast. On that note are we using the one with light blue in it?
-We need to be consistent. Is it DarkCoin or Darkcoin?

Thanks for your work!

Good point. I think that grey bar needs to change colour. Do you know the right logo to use?

I thought it was Darkcoin and DarkSend. Am I wrong?

Thanks for the feedback Smiley

This is correct, to my knowledge.  Darkcoin, DarkSend, DarkGravityWave.

Please let me know if you'd like a 2nd set of eyes to look over the copy.

Guys it's right in the title of the thread DarkCoin  Smiley

I'm not entirely sure to be honest. I've seen all variations - DarkCoin, Darkcoin, DarkSend, Darksend. Pretty sure it's not even consistent in the first post! Point is it should be consistent, maybe see if Evan has one in mind?

About the logo, the one at the top of the first post was what I thought we were going with (for the text part of it I mean). Maybe I'm wrong though, things got pretty muddy there with many color variations and such.

Yeah I'm confused too. I'll stick with Darkcoin and DarkSend for now. Will be easy to change once it's clarified.

Anyone know if there is a PNG file of the light blue logo?
These are the source files for the logo, but they don't have the new color scheme:

https://mega.co.nz/#!4wUGHaDR!1Pk4jy2fU9g_u0Pb820G5DYFq9xTx-rw2OrOYy6Ht-8

The specific color shades used are:

Light blue
RGB: 51,152,204
Hex: #3398cc

Dark gray
RGB: 51,51,51
Hex: #333333

This has been gone over before - unless Evan changed his mind at some point, it's Darkcoin.  The white paper never has the c capitalized (I remember because several of the edits are from me and it was being discussed while I was writing them).

Original source files (AI format) from the designer available here: https://mega.co.nz/#!4wUGHaDR!1Pk4jy2fU9g_u0Pb820G5DYFq9xTx-rw2OrOYy6Ht-8

According to the designer the font used was "Eurostyle bold extended"

The blue version was a quick & dirty photoshop job I did for the voting poll, using the shade of blue from whoever was the first person to create the blue variant. You should get someone with decent photoshop skills to convert the EPS files to high quality vector images using the blue colour. Using the fill tool to recolour (like I did) creates aliasing effects & messes up the edges, so I suggest not using the existing blue versions.

As far as which image to use: The blue "D" is the logo, and the coin with the logo on it is the coin design (to clarify terminology). Personally I'd be using the logo for the primary branding, and the coin design when it's contextually appropriate. But that ain't my call, so, good luck to you sir. Smiley

Wanted to let everyone know that I've been rewriting/editing copy for a new website, and have made some progress on adapting a template. Still a bit to do but would welcome feedback so far. It's just a proposal but should hopefully be better than the current site.

Here's a screengrab of part of the front page...

Sorry to say but  I don't think that color scheme works at all. The light blue looks way out of place, and the 'Darkcoin' text logo at the top left is lost in the header background. Also the colors in the Darkcoin logo don't really match up with the chosen color scheme in general. The font choice is excellent though.

EDIT: Also, if those arrows are meant for navigation, they need to contrast more with the background. Have to strain to see them.

Great Start,
but i have to agree, that light blue background does NOT work ! sorry
i would make it darker, maybe even try the dark blue from the logo !

tx for working on it

Thanks all for the comments and help. Great stuff. I'll take it all on board and put some more work into it over the next couple of days.

After this I'll upload a working website with the new copy to a temp host. I'll probably need some help with the words about masternodes/mining etc so there will be a few gaps but we'll get to that Smiley

Does that font need to be licensed?  Is the big D a font or was it the designer's original creation?  Would suck for anyone to get a C & D or something...

Also I can trace these all to vectors tomorrow morning if nobody else volunteers first (gotta get some sleep).

Almost everybody who holds this coin has and should have confidence, but comments like "750m market cap this year are realistic" are a little exaggerated. Who seriously think that DRK will go beyond $1500. I hope noone is that delusional

Why not?

At ~ $175 per coin 750m cap is reached at around 4.280.000 coins

This isn't unrealistic. Optimistic - yes, but not unrealistic. Given enough demand for an anonymous coin - no problems with such level and above.

Who would have thought 1-2 ago that bitcoin will be 600-700$ ?

2,5 years ago I could have started mining bitcoins having read and calculated a lot, but I ignored it as at the time it was under electricity cost on my rig. Guess how I feel now  Grin ouch

If it hits $175 and $750m+ this year, I'll be happy to donate, through DarkSend, enough to get a weekend escort of this quality for a lucky random and randy darkcoin holder.

If anyone wants to match that, we can offer two girls for a weekend of a lifetime.

The offer also stands if the winner is a girl and wants to choose a male escort  Grin

Still stands....looking like I might have to pay up on this one  Grin

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=579976.msg6335710#msg6335710

coins101, ill support the alcohol, you get the girls. Deal? Smiley

ill bring this one though.

and these ones

this ones for evan only.

Think Evan is loved up. Ape might have to stand in. What a hardship.

When the price gets to $500m, we'll do like a testing session  Wink

if it hits 500$m I will get this

Is it just me, or is the new logo / coin growing on you?  I know there was a whole bunch of voting and talking about the logo.

But this is just awesome.

I can't remember who made the first batch of shirts, are they planning on making a new batch with the new logo / coin? As I for one would love a shirt this this on it!

This is one of the coolest logo's I've seen in quite a long time.

It has everything, IMHO, a logo should have. Presence, imponence, clarity, authoritative without invading the eyes and mind, transmits a message, is not frightening at all and is exquisitely designed. It is quite packed with details, but does NOT conflict! And does NOT look like 1980's, and the colours just mix magically.

There is no panic sell !! There was a 53 BTC wall all night in mintpal at 37 and none was bitting. They're just messing around.

Anyone else notice DRK is not on coinmarketcap.com anymore? What gives?

This is bullshit. You did NOT send out double payout for blocks. Double payment simply happened because you've had DB issue AGAIN!
You're saying people have had issues with your service, and your reward by RANDOMLY awarding double payout for random blocks?!

Hell yeah, let me go point my miner at you  right now!  Huh Random compensation for random block, for lucky winners? That is not compensation, that is a lottery. What about those who gain without loses, or theses who double loos by sheer bad "random compensation luck"?

Your backend is crap and you've been screwing with everyone's mining. This time, it double payed out. It was not intentional, or you'd have made a nice email or forum "spam" about it.

Nor did I receive an email from a admin expressing whatever feeling that they should double payout as compensation for downtime, locked payouts, stratum failure and constant DDoD's, all of which you've previously promised to have fixed and never happen again.

I've lost more mining to you guys than to scrypt-algo mining instability with 280x's peaking 85ºC and CGwatcher rebooting.
BE HONEST; DONT BULLSHIT, and people will understand that the world is not perfect and shit happens.

I don't like being bullshitted. You completely screwed me over twice, on a coin launch and with DRK.
