Ring signatures are going to be implemented in V2.

I this what InternetApe was talking about the other day? "Completely anonymous".

Just a thought on masternode security: Is it reasonable to assume that any Amazon EC2 image will have built-in backdoors? I imagine a large percentage of masternodes are running on EC2 instances.

I was wondering if the EC2 free tier instances had good enough performance. The Ubunktu one says "Very low performance".

Is it enough ?

Psssh nothing should be given away. That's self defeating.

If people want to help make their money grow and have lots of dark donate to bounties.
Or to people helping promote/working on the coin.

Yea I assumed we were talking about donating to bounties. No sense to just give coins away heh.

Price drifting a little bit now.

Ba careful with your coins. There are birds of prey hovering over that order book.

They will wait like hawks circling at 1000 feet, scouring the ground, allowing liquidity to build at the slightly lower price levels.

Then out of the blue - BAMM. They'll fold their wings, plummet like a brick built sh*thouse onto those asks and leave behind a stonking green candle for every other buyer to cry onto.

It's damn near impossible to predict, but at the same time, you better get it right because if you change it 1 or 3 years down the road... It becomes a completely different coin in one line of code.

I don't see it that harshly.. otherwise you could say that the moment someone creates an ASIC it becomes a completely different coin. Or the moment someone creates a more optimized miner. Or Evan adds a new feature.

For now the CPU performance is more than enough. I don't know how it will behave with thousands of masternodes in the network...
The only limitation I found on the free tier was the outbound network 15GB limit and that was the reason I moved to DigitalOcean.

Tante, us forum ramblers do just as much!! IMHO. Look at Blackcoin, contracted a high-end PR firm to stay above water and try to bring value to their PoS strategy, branding all over the interwebs with prizes and bling.bling.bling...

We raise awareness, rinse off the trolls, welcome new comers, bring life to darkcointalk.org... We're not the brains but we are the heart and lungs!

 We gained 11m in market cap due to Darkcoin dev's talent, and a coherent, supportive and friendly community,!

 Seriously, DRK is LTC on steroids!

Yes, I suppose there is some use for us, LOL.  I see a great future here, so it's not hard to be a cheerleader  Cheesy

Is there anyone having this problem?

darkcoind getblocktemplate
error: {"code":-1,"message":"CreateNewBlock() : ConnectBlock failed"}

I compiled from the latest github source, connected to testnet, but have no success on this command.
I even deleted testnet3 directory and rebooted but not working as expected.

getmininginfo
{
    "blocks" : 4601,
    "currentblocksize" : 1000,
    "currentblocktx" : 0,
    "difficulty" : 0.08607635,
    "errors" : "",
    "generate" : false,
    "genproclimit" : -1,
    "hashespersec" : 0,
    "networkhashps" : 2751552,
    "pooledtx" : 0,
    "testnet" : true
}

this getmininginfo command seems alright.

getconnectioncount
4

Gosh, I'm not sure what getblocktemplate does?  But just a note, if you compile the code yourself, it will be without DarkSend, as that's still closed source.  All it has is the code required to elect and pay the masternodes, I believe.  Anyway, not knowing what getblocktemplate does, I thought maybe this is the reason???

I was thinking about doing an IPO to open up the market to buy DRK for creating master nodes for those investors that have money but not the time, expertise, etc.,?

Flawed thinking?

I pitched this idea 400 pages back Tongue

Although with the "easy-install-one-click-iso-mount" will make it easier for so many and this will prolly not be needed anymore.

What do you mean by IPO? What would you offer and how?

"Hey I have a shitload of money and I want to make more money. I never touched linux and I don't have time to learn, setup and secure a server - do it for me and I'll give you a splash of my wealth".

That was my interpretation though.

 Well, I did that for you, and never asked a penny Wink

 Might have to re-think my community-support-plan...

hehe but I offered a %age of my MN earnings Smiley if the heart is good the reward shall be found!

The masternode payment fork has been postponed until May 25th due to
some issues on testnet over the last couple of weeks. A few issues
have cropped up and we want the code to be more thoroughly vetted
before turning it on for mainnet. This is expected to take less than a
week, but to ensure we have enough time we've chosen May 25th.

With the excellent guide by cheaplin + a lot people helping out, I can't see how the willing souls could not set up masternodes.
1h tops for newbie for the first one, then image and max 5min for each next to swap wallet/ip.

Took me 9 hours. When someone held my hand all the way. So I would add another +1-2 hours for the noobs Tongue

I agree large holders should give away more. I don't think I'm a big holder, but have given away 1000 DRK already.

I should totally just give you free money for no reason. Sure. DRK Welfare? Fuck you!

Sell me something that is more valuable than DRK will be in a year. Sell me something that is more valuable than the masternodes I can run.

Good choice Evan. I saw all the new binaries popping up and was getting slightly worried it was going to be rushed with some fatal flaw in the code. Good luck squashing all those bugs this week!
