I just sold a portion of my coins due to a misclick, I feel so sick right now.

Keep them off the exchange! They will be safer, won't end up panic selling, and you won't make these mistakes!

and you will take your life if exchange got hacked...

i understand that online wallets are cool, and you dont have to update wallet or anything... but when hack happen you will wish that you had local wallet instead of that

I hereby openly express my deepest apologies to the community. I said we'd be 99% network compliant, but the truth is we failed.

 We're at around 98.44 %.

Since ghash.io is a lost cause by default, we only need to convince nicehash.eu to reach 99%.

What about 40% of the nethash is only paying 10% instead of 20%?  Grin

Doesn't matter. What's important is not the wallet payout (which is not enforced), but the stratum side update. Even with 10%, the RC4 fork will work smoothly as only the wallet need to be updated after it, if I'm not mistaken.

In any case, the 10% paying pools are a fraction of the fully updated 20% ones. Once the fork is set, Masternode payout will instantly get the extra "+40%" revenue. (not really the mathematical number, but you get the gist)

Yes, no need to update stratum again.

Testnet nomp http://54.183.73.24/ (in RC4) has no changes after RC3.

I have my DRK in my own wallet (cold) and a chunk invested in Vertoe's Masternode service making me DRK interest!

By the way, shameless plug for Vertoe's service, extremely happy and wish I had moved some DRK there when it first started!

I've been watching all the wannabe anon coins and researching the technical details of each and every anon launch.  I am happy to say I still hold all my DRK as I believe it's the simplest, most decentralised and efficient solution by far.

yay!!  Grin
Someone dumped on my buy order earlier and now I have enough for a second MN, I already hardened the server and setup the darkcoind.

Now im not shure what to do about the <darkcoind getaccountaddress 0> command

I thought i would just change the 0 to 1 and generate a new address for my second MN but it sayd "command not found"

Do I just use the same address as the first MN ? Or will I need a new wallet ?

Will I f-up the first MN if I do the getaccountaddress 0 command   Huh

"getnewaddress", send 1000DRK, enjoy. The account or zeroeth address thing are bullshit. It doesn't matter. At all.

edit: I think I got it wrong. Do you want to fire up two remote nodes from the same cold wallet?
Yes 2 nodes from the same cold wallet, thats what Im trying to do

Copied, pasted, happy crouton. Smiley

@Icebucket: even with your MN addresses in the same wallet, you're going to need separate .conf files with each MN's privkey and masternodeaddr in, unless you want to keep manually changing them. I've been keeping separate wallets and conf files in, for example .darkcoin-MN1, .darkcoin-MN2 etc. and just renaming those folders to .darkcoin before noodling with that MN.

I have decided to cash out my LTC and go to the DRK side completely. Bout to triple my DRK holdings!
Great to hear! Welcome to the DRKside.
Edit: I just read about your trading mishap. Don't panic buy. Use the next 24-48 hours to build your position. Trading volume lately has been pretty anemic, which means the market is as calm you're likely to find it. If you get to 1000+ DRKs, think about setting up a masternode. This does a few things for you.
1. You must move your coins off the exchange and into your wallet (always a good long term practice).
2. You learn a thing or two about setting up a Linux server.
3. You get paid DRK for proof of service.
4. The instinct to trade on volatility diminishes b/c you're using your DRK position to own and manage a masternode, and get paid for it.

I also keep separate wallets and conf files in separate folders. Note, instead of renaming folders and such, you can just start each masternode using the -datadir switch i.e.
darkcoind -datadir=/home/Ubuntu/.darkcoin-mn1/

Using -datadir is safe and easiest way.

But has some inconveniences.
Every command should have '-datadir=/home/~' as argument.
--> Use alias / alias darkcoind = 'darkcoind -datadir=/home/Ubuntu/.darkcoin-mn1/'

Syncing.. No otherway..

I`ve talked with nicehash dev. They don`t mine drk they only rent the hashpower, so IMO we will have to wait till RC4 to get them paid Wink

I'm a tad confused by recent developments: Do we have a fixed date for RC4 release? I think July 24th was being thrown around?

this is from the official Development Update 15th of July 2014 :

quote :

Testnet Phase

Development on RC4 is nearing an end and we expect that we’ll be firing up testnet in the coming week. Depending on what we find, testing and QA should take 2 to 4 weeks.

Code Review

Kristov Atlas has agreed to be the first to review the Darksend code. Kristov will be evaluating anonymity and overall design of our technology and will report his findings publicly. We’ll be sending the code to him soon and we anticipate that we will hear back from Kristov by the end of the month.

edit : edited in also the code review part .. which is most likely finished before RC4 gets implemented.

Hey,

Appreciated than you Smiley. I read that but also I saw July 24th being mentioned on the thread so I was confused. I guess it's another couple weeks to go then.

Testnet is currently live already since a few days. They are working on finding all remaining issues and fixing them.
