I can't get over how trading volume has dried up... since Mintpal closed shop

Yeah I think the biggest problem is the BTC that Mintpal stole or still has locked up.  That's reportedly 5000 some-odd BTC that was actively being used for trading.  People are getting their DRK back AFAIK, but not their BTC.  So the sell side (DRK supply) has recovered but the buy side (BTC supply) took a big hit.

5000 BTC are missing from mintpal gox?
I din't know this, bad news

You can have masternode=0 on both wallets' / daemons' configs when you're syncing them, transferring the 1000 DRK, or just generally setting them up - because they are not a masternode yet!

But when you're finally ready to start up the MN (i.e. masternode start yourpassphrasehere), then you'll need to set masternode=1 on both of them (and relaunch the wallets / dameons so the .conf gets read, duh).

Maybe that's something that isn't mentioned clearly enough in the tutorials?

The masternode's darkcoin.conf says masternode=0. Really? The darkcoin.conf file on the machine that is NOT the masternode, says masternode=1. Really? Really? The opposite of what sanity would dictate?
wut.. it should say masternode=1 on both wallets (local with 1000 DRK, and remote wallet running on the actual server with 0 DRK) for it to work.
Read some guides, they'll tell you to do it both ways. Some say both at the same time...

I'll have to go back and read thru my MN Guide but I pretty sure that.....
masternode=0
is only listed there, in the section where I'm talking about personal wallet's and not MN wallet's

Personal wallet's and MN wallet's need different darkcoin.conf files :-D for each one of them :-D

Trust me, I know - I'm running several MN's right now.

A couple of those guides do say to initially set masternode=0 in remote conf, then come back and change it to=1

I'm not sure about the actual BTC number, but supposedly it is over 5000 BTC worth of coins total.

EDIT: Ok apparently ~3700 actual BTC

Some people just don't have the intelligence or mental capability to perform simple tasks so they lash out in anger at anyone and everyone.

It has nothing to do with intelligence or mental capability, more with how too much drugs and bitches will mess with your mind.
Everybody relax, camosoul will have his act together in short time.

Abusing your body with drugs is a lack of intelligence.

Edit:

I should show some compassion.  Drug addiction is a sad thing.  Unfortunately it usually gets worse as time goes on.  If drugs are what's causing this erratic behaviour then I wish them the best at beating those demons.

Anybody use these guy's?

http://weselldark.com/

Need to buy like 110DRK

Yes I use it more than once, work well all the time, recieve your dark in less than 5 minutes.
It's more expensive but the only where you can pay with PP directly.

Edit: To buy 110 drk you have to send a email to upgrade your daily limits...
Otherwise you have a 20$ limits. (or 25 don't remember... suerly the bad drug bouhh hehehe)

Yes works very well. Used it many times.
I even got Level 3 verification with no issues.
A bit expensive but if you want to use PP it's the only way to do it as far as I know.

You need to open the incoming port 9999 on the computer you're running the masternode on. If you have the local-remote setup, then it's the remote computer that has to have the port open.

Depends on how lucky the miners finding blocks are.

Depends on your firewall setup. I like ufw, here's how easy it is:
Code:
sudo ufw allow ssh/tcp
sudo ufw allow 9999/tcp
sudo ufw logging on
sudo ufw enable
sudo ufw status

I followed taos guide perfectly, and have already had one running no problem.

Can i not just add the :9999 in the .conf file somewhere?

How do you normally switch to root? Do that, then run the commands I posted without the sudo bit. You need to be root to modify your server firewall.
