He guys,

i m trying to setup a masternode but i have the "you must set masternode=1 in the configuration" problem when i try to start the masternode. I followed TAOs How to step by step. I ve doublechecked that the .conf files are no .txt files. Do you have to install an absolut fresh wallet or is it ok if u "get address 0" in an existing wallet and then send the 1000 DRK within the wallet? I m a bit desperate, maybe someone could help. Thx in advance.

Too many depends. It may not be a txt file, but have funky embedded stuff in it. Use an HTML or code editor to be absolutely sure. About the address "0", it doesnt have to be that anymore, but if it was used before in an active node, then its a good idea to create a new 1k vin alongside static IP and genkey.

Do what it says.. just put masternode=1 in your local .conf file.. Wink and move it where it belongs - %appdata%\Darkcoin
I'm using a vanity address imported in a fresh wallet. It is not needed to name it "address 0" at all..

Any theories on these wallets that haven't been touched for more than 6 months?

My guess is that most probably they are either lost/corrupted or suffered forgotten passphrase problem

Maybe an exchange cold/paper wallet? Or just some individual's paper wallet who decided to put them away and come back in 2 years. Smiley

It is interesting that those wallets were moved last time on May 3rd-4th which at that time price of Darkcoin was around 0.0055 btc and 2-3 weeks after those coins were moved, price hit 0.027 btc- almost 5 fold increase. Either the owner had a steel nerves not to sell some of those coins or he/she simply lost wallet passphrase Smiley

If he sold at least one of those three wallets at 0.020 or 0.027, he would have made 200-270 btc. With May 4th price of bitcoin, he could have made $91,000 - $123,000, just from one wallet alone (for 10k darkcoins).

dude, you are expecting us to panic just because some idiot dumped 1k? Smiley

No panic can make me sell my masterndoes. They are hardworking cash machines and I love watching them make money while I just sit back and relax or go mind my other businesses. This also helps you not to be obsessed by the price and stop staring at the charts Smiley

p.s. Dogecoin has no particular value/advantage compared to other coins but even that shitcoin managed to increase its value 5 times (reached 117 satoshi) after hitting the bottom at 22 satoshi.  If a shitcoin with no particular properties can do that, then Dakrcoin- which is solving the two major holy grail crypto problems (anonymity and instant TX) will do dozens times better Wink So keep calm and set up masterndoes.

Setting up masternodes is super simple and also we are past the point where you can influence the market with concern posts. Why dont you try being constructive? It will be more profitable for you long-term.

If you don't know how to do it, let the professionals do the heavy lifting for you. You just collect the profit and keep your masternode coins safely in your local wallet. No trust is required:

Wow... the time and effort to FUD threads is quite mind boggling.

Setting up a node is very easy. Even for linux newbies.

For those who want one but lack the skills, feel free to use my service (link in sig) or Mangled Blue/Flare's service.

flare's service is trustees but i don't think mangled blue's is.
