What do you say about Klopp contradictory statements? I am now writing from my head so I am sorry if I misquoted but the gist should be correct.

He's quite smart with it. He knows what to say and when and he always has enough room to wiggle out of some of it. He'll say that Nunez has way lower salary and agent fees and that the deal is nowhere near Haaland's, although we all know it is close.
He's been doing it for a while but he's so charismatic that he gets away with it. A great trait to have - a lot can be done through the media if you know how to play that game.

Klopp has always been that kind of guy! In the 2019 Champions League final, Becker Alisson was named Man of the Match, and Klop stated that his team was the best in the world, with GK Alison being the best player in the world. Last year, when Real Madrid's GK Cortious put in a world-class performance against them in the Champions League final and was named Man of the Match, Klopp went to their media and lamented, saying, "When the GK is Man of the Match, something is wrong for the other team." Klopp has always been bitter with other teams and found himself doing the same thing.

When he first arrived, he complained about how Manchester City were buying the league with money, as if the EPL was a Budesliga where you could take a few Academy players and go to war. After a few years, Klop was the first to buy the most expensive GK and defender.

Are you still spending Countinho's money, Liverpool fans? This has been the excuse of Liverpool fans for many years! Countinho left nearly 8 years ago, and your team has spent over £500 million on players with no good player sales?

You guys have any info what player has been arrested yesterday? From what info I managed to find, he is very famous, plays for national team in upcoming world cup, 29 years old and he got arrested in north London on rape charges.

not in UK, but looking at Spurs squad, could be Son (Korea), Ben Davies (Wels) and Lucas Moura (Brasil), not sure that Moura is secure for WC anyway
all 29 years, Kane is few days short, still 28 years (now I know his birthday )

since there is no news about name, and a lot of sensationalism, I would bet on Davies or Moura, if Hotspur player is in question

But the news I read do not say north London club, they just say that the player is arrested at north London. So it could be a club from there but it could also be a player living there or just being there when cops picked him up.

This was end of last season before they got Darwin of course but they balance it out also with all their sales I think.

So you could say they have spent 500 but only because they got in a lot of money. I think there is a difference of spending with borrowed money (bank loan or owner money like United and City) and with revenue (like Arsenal or Liverpool). This is like saying I spend $5 and you spend $5, but I have $5 in my pocket from my job, you borrowed $5 to spend it.

This is the center of what makes fans angry with spending.

Still very envious Liverpool bought players and manage to sell so far almost everyone more than what they paid for. Very good businessmen at their transfer shop. How you can sell even players like Minamino for profit is amazing. Though that is not as important as market value.

With the way they're buying players, it's easy to think they're overspending without realizing they're getting more than they're paying for. My club, Chelsea, is one of the top five clubs in terms of net spending, and as the club with the most loaned out players, I believe it is time to focus more on cashing in on them rather than loaning for free. In any case, only 3% of them make it back to our main squad.

About Ziyech, I knew he was going somewhere since he is way too good player to not actually play. My point was more on the line that Chelsea had winger like Ziyech and opted to not use him. Indeed,,, I am not a Liverpool or Arsenal fan, never have been but I always felt Arsenal were the best run club in the whole league for 20 years until Wenger got kicked out and see how they are now, spending so much and going nowhere. And Liverpool yes they make big buys, but always from a proper accounting of business. Money in then money out. And just look how they somehow find diamonds like Suarez, Torres, Salah. America, European, African. And turn them all into Golden Boot winners and amazing talent.

Spurs not bad, but recently not good and Conte is known spender. But we made the first Asian Golden Boot also from unknown. That is something I always feel so proud of.

City and PSG I really dislike in a way because they just had no need to make business. And if they have great talents they always arrive already with big debt. Same as Chelsea initially but now I think you guys have to play nice under new boss.

United is the worst indeed. They had no money but put their own club up as collateral to borrow money. Last season they made LOSS and their owners paid each other millions in bonus. And they hate to make stars they buy stars. After teenage Ronaldo, who did they build up?

Last season, Ziyech lost more possessions than the entire Chelsea team. He's a good player, but the EPL is too intense for him; he'd do better in a less intense league like Laliga or Serie A. He has a great attitude and has never been a problem in the locker room, but he is not the typical Tuchel player.

De Ligt should be great signing for them, don't even know who Aker is.

Aker is a former Chelsea player who we sold to Bournemouth for around €25 million or so a few years ago. He then received a £40 million mega move to Manchester City in 2020 but did not get as much playing time as he should. We are working hard to reclaim him. He's yet another failed transfer for us.

That's the unfortunate bit though. You guys haven't really utilised these players yourselves, and instead have shipped them onto the highest bidder. Sure, if that works for you it works, but when you go, and invest into Lukaku with that money you've generated, there's some issues there.

I like the emphasis on youth development by Chelsea, I just kind of wished they'd use it more to ease them into the senior side, because you've had some great players that were definitely capable of doing so.

A woman can have a crush on you and still reject you; that's how football works; you put your money in and hope he succeeds; it's a dangerous business Lukaku had a fantastic season before we signed him, and we had no idea he was just a one-season wonder.

Of course not! We signed him from Saint- Etienne at the age of 19 and developed him into a man; he had his best season under Jose Mourinho before suffering a long fracture that ended his Chelsea career; he was not the same when he returned. What a lovely professional.

I know we're 4 weeks away but already looking at fixture list and Liverpool play a promoted club (again). Always feel like they're most dangerous at first game (remember 4-3 Leeds opening game?).

Salah to score is the dream, to keep the opening day scoring every season record. I'd settle for a 2-nil win though and no injuries and everyone playing easy.
