Yeah, I'm holding and mining waiting for the marketing or advertising to kick in.  I am also dissappointed at the lack or recognition of the coin and the CEO not being involved with the community.  I think if and when he decides to start getting active and advertising his coin and business, then GPU coin should go up. After all it does have a lot more going for it than the other 200 crap coins.  But if there is any lesson to be learned from DOGE, it is YOU HAVE TO ADVERTISE AND MARKET THE HELL OUT OF THE COIN. IT MUST GO VIRAL.  THERE NEEDS TO BE A TEAM TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. THIS TEAM AS WELL AS MINTPAL LISTING SHOULD BE DONE WITH IPO FUNDS. AND YES, I WAS IN THE IPO.

.....

GPU Sale!
On Friday the 4th of April GPU Coin is having a massive sale starting between the hours of 1700~2000 EST and going until stock is sold out.  The rest of the Sapphire Toxic R9 280X cards will be sold for $300 USD equivalant of GPUC at the market value and any person who orders a Sapphire R7 240 card at our already low price of $27 USD equivalant of GPUC will be entered in a drawing for another free R7 240, with a total of 5 winners.  Due to stock limits, we will be limiting purchases to one card per customer.

Contests:
Five Free Graphics Cards
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=550206.0

Vote for a winner
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=544971.0

Previous Winners:
jimlite: free Sapphire Toxic R9 280X

Goals:
Wholesale GPU Purchases:
We currently have access to distributor prices, but wish to provide further savings to our customers. We are currently applying for wholesale of the following companies: MSI, XFX, Sapphire Tech, ASUS and GIGABYTE. After contacting a few companies we have found the wholesale market to be extremely monopolized, and a few said they would not accept new business accounts. To get access we need to provide the manufacturers proof of a certain amount of monthly sales; so if you stick by us, we'll be able to provide even higher savings directly to you.

....

Shipping was $14 for the R7 240 to my home in California. Where is the store based at? Shipping is $3 to $6 on Newegg. Not a major complaint, still got the gpu cheaper after the shipping cost than buying from Newegg.

thats a pretty hefty shipping price.
its coming from VA but that doesn't matter if you're using usps.
i used to run a store and shipped boxes around the same size but heavier with tracking for around 8-10$

The business is backed by LLC in VA, but the store/warehouse might be based out of North America.

I still saved a little over $39 with shipping cost vs Newegg's total cost after shipping and taxes.

Sad

I am getting tired of losing money on GPUCoin.

I was picking up coins throughout the week because I wanted enough to buy a toxic, and now it looks like the day of the sale the price has shot down.

I am very upset.  I have been an investor with GPUCoin since the beginning, and am getting screwed over again and again.

I lost a lot of money with the IPO, and now am losing money with the store.

I don't see how people are supposed to buy enough coins on the market, with the lack of liquidity, to buy one of the cards from the store.  Obviously buying throughout the week is not going to work.  I paid over 8 satoshi for my GPUCoins.

Sad

What sucks is GPUCoin and Jaymes will make money regardless, and they apparently do not care at all for investors.  This is why they take absolutely no action to fix the problems.

Quit your god damn whining and man up!  Investing in anything is a gamble, sometimes you win and sometimes you don't.  I bought into the IPO and you don't see me complaining about the price.  There's an expression that says, "shit or get off the pot".  Either sell your coins at a low rate and be done with GPUC or wait, yes WAIT, for the price to go up and cash out; just stop whining here in the thread about how you're supposedly being screwed.

I think the way Jaymes is running this business constitutes disregard for the investors to the point of "screwing us" over.
For example we have not heard back from Jaymes about doing anything about the excessive inflation going on.  The market is getting flooded with coins, devaluing the investors share, but nothing is done because the store can still make money.

The investors funded the store.  Jaymes and the store are making money using those funds, while the investors are losing money.  If the people running GPUCoin do not take action to help the investors make back their money then they are screwing the investors over.
And on top of that Jaymes and the GPUCoin store refuse to release information about what is happening to the money.  They refuse to disclose how much of the profit they are going to keep and how much will be used to help grow the store.  They refuse to disclose what happened to the funds in the first place, which is odd.

If this was a real IPO then GPUCoin would be held accountable.  Courts have ruled that investors were entitled to a refund for their IPO investment if the company did not practice full disclosure to prove where the funds were being spent.
I think that most coins are doing something essentially illegal by selling "investment into an IPO" in the form of a coin payout.  Legally companies holding IPOs have to follow a number of rules, as IPOs are regulated.  Most coins are selling investment into 'fake IPOs' and I am curious to see if there are any legal problems because of this.  Personally I think it is misleading.

This is my opinion.

Opinions are like assholes, everyone has one!  Sell your coins and get out, but for god's sake, stop complaining about IPO, investment, blah, blah, blah.

Vertcoin is already on a "Major" Exchange... Called Cryptsy.   Shocked  I for one am mostly in Vertcoin, but I continue to cast my votes on Mintpal for GPU.

Yes, but still behind Flap...so I wouldn't get too excited...

Send Mintpal .01...it's the equivalent of $4.50.

Let's get this done already.

Just wondering what an accidental "fork" looks like.  Because I've never seen this before - it's from gpu.dedicatedpool.com

Really, lets get past this already. The IPO ~70BTC. You did see the stack of GPUs that Jaymes posted, right? You did see the 3BTC buy that got this coin listed at cryptorush, right?
Just how much IPO fundage do you think there might be left that you must incessantly whine that no one is holding your hand onto a major exchange and then right onto easy street?
Everyone else seems to be on board with the thought that we have to do this ourselves. Jaymes has already put like 10X more into this coin than anyone else, so please, quit begging for more from him.
The votes at mintpal have been going amazingly well IMHO. It's just that it is a long assed hill to climb.
The whiners are the ones that can't seem to rest easy dumping their coin at the current price, instead of being pleased to be buying the coin at this amazingly good price.
As for shipping costs, well guys, ain't everybody can make deals with UPS for their own custom shipping rates, as newegg does. I previously bought a r7 240 and it arrived in a priority mail flat rate box. IMHO opinion a good, economical, safe, and expedient shipping option. If anyone else has connections to get better shipping I'm quite sure the store would love to hear about it.
I also see that a couple more cards have sold at the store, amazing that currently the cheapest 280x toxic on the planet that I'm aware of isn't selling like hotcakes at breakfast time.

BTW, in case anyone didn't know. The r7 240 that the store sells for only $29 (newegg.com was selling for $69 + $5 shipping) is the only new chip recently released by AMD other than the Hawaii 290 and 290x. It has true audio enabled, directx 11.2, and with a second r7 240 card on the same motherboard you can enable crossfire without a hardware bridge, just like the 290's. It draws less than 75w at load and therefore does not need any PCIE power connectors, it takes what it needs straight from the PCIE bus. My point is, when crossfired, it should be a great entry level budget gaming solution, and, totally unrivaled performance at this price point. I'm putting one together for the kids this week.

Underwhelmed by lack of change on the exchanges despite the sale.  Undecided

Check out this site for legit free BTC. It's like an hourly free lottery ticket that always pays out at least 300 satoshi, and could net you over .3 BTC if you're really lucky. Just gotta fill out a captcha each time. (basically a faucet with chance of real reward)
