Yeah.. it seems the biggest factor is that GPU mining is dying... ah well, it was a good run Smiley

GPU mining isn't dying it's just going to suck for a while until other PoWs become established.  In the meantime there will be a shitload of used mining equipment which could be bought/sold using GPUC...  if it weren't sitting in single satoshi's that is.

Hi all! Are these the cards that are sold in gpucoin store? Found a sweet local deal on them. If they're not, is it worth picking these for mining? What would be hashrates for them on known algos? thanks in advance.

No, it's just a bug in the gpucoin store website. The 280s listed there are Sapphire 280x Toxic, but when you click on the item, the title on the description page says "Gigabyte 280x". The cards on sale are actually Sapphire Toxic and not Gigabyte.

Whether it's worth picking those or not is totally up to the buyer. Considering the kind of questions you're asking it's probably not worth it.

I have 4xGigabyte GV-R928XOC-3GD-GA. I think it almost the same.
Hashrate for some algo:
Scrypt - ~710kH/s
Scrypt-N - ~360kH/s
x11 - ~2000kH/s
Some settings - core - 1025MHz, memory - 1500Mhz, vddc - 1.075v
Other algos i don't tested Smiley

Besides voting on Mintpal you could also help spread the word about this coin using Twitter.

For example I just retweeted this Tweet from @GPUCoin regarding Video Card Contest:

my suggesting on making Gpuc rise ...

1-reduce block reward

2-Change the fucking N-scrypt algo .... everyone hate that .... so buggy so hot ....and by changing i mean going to HVC-Qbit-X11  ... things that run cool .... HVC best choice since its nvida friendly ... also Gpu friendly which is the whole thing about this coin

3-people stop bitching about price

4-making more people know that they can buy cheaper rigs for gpuc .. through forum twitter ads

Cant agree more..

You should not buy a warrant unless you are prepared to sustain a total loss of the money you have invested plus any commission or other transaction charges

I just started to mine X11 coin and that algo is really great. Instead of my GPU running at 80C it runs now at less than 50C.

STOP BEING IDIOTS SAYING SCRYPT-N RUNS HOT. IT RUNS THE SAME TEMPS ON MY 10 280x's as NORMAL SCRYPT. AND YES, KECCAK or X11 WILL RUN COOLER BECAUSE IT IS DOING LESS WORK, DUH! I CAN PLAY VIDEO GAMES WHILE I AM MINING KECCAK OR X11, YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON SCRYPT-N OR SCRYPT BECAUSE YOU ARE USING THE FULL POTENTIAL OF YOUR GPU.  DON'T POST IF YOU ARE A NOOB SPREADING STUPID INFO. MY CARDS ARE NEVER OVER 72C or 50% FAN. AND THE RETARDED RUMORS OF SCRYPT-N RUINING VIDEO CARDS ARE JUST THAT, RUMORS.  IF YOU CHOOSE TO RUN ANY MINING ALGO OR EVEN VIDEO GAME AT 95C 24/7, THEN YOU MAY KILL YOUR CARD. YOU WILL NOT HARM YOUR CARD RUNNING SCRYPT-N AT NORMAL VOLTAGE, SPEEDS, AND TEMPERATURES.  IF YOUR CARD IS GETTING TO HOT, UNDERVOLT IT, LOWER SPEEDS, OR COOL IT PROPERLY.

I have been saying X11 from the start, no telling how this coin would be doing if anybody had actually listened. I mean why scrypt-n, it's literally the worst choice for several reasons.

GPUC gaining on FlappyCoin on Mintpal. Less than 800 votes between them.
