Okay since we didn't achieve consensus on the block time change, and i didn't hear back from Jaymes.. all that I will be doing is moving up the block halving slightly to block 65535.. changes are going in now, along with other security fixes.

From another forum, THIS IS HOW MARKETING/PUBLICITY/EXCHANGES GET DONE! A COIN'S SUCCESS IS MAINLY DUE TO ADVERTISING.
Quote from: linkandzelda on April 09, 2014, 01:55:09 PM Just curious: Has CaiShen coin broken the record of buying votes on Mintpal? 6 BTC !
"I know we did not break the record on Mintpal votes, but the record we will break is spending all IPO BTC on advertising CAI. I know the fact we are not running away with peoples money might surprise some, as the altcoin norm these days is to cut and run. We can not promise that we will be the next big coin, but be certain we will try our best. You can keep track of our progress and point out anything you find to be contrary to that. We might change a few things like timing of an ad campaign or an exchange listing, but that is done only when we feel there is demand for it. We also have plans to keep advertising CAI beyond the initial IPO funds. This is our way of creating a trusting community."
We have a great dev, Micryon will make sure the wallet and coin has the best chance of succeeding, but JAYMES needs to read the above paragraph and do that or hire whoever is doing that for CAI. Black coin and Israel coin are going up like crazy while GPUC goes down like crazy SOLELY because they have news articles, big headlines, advertising, marketing, internet buzz. Someone needs to do this for GPU coin. I can't even believe there are not articles being submitted to every gaming and mining website from the GPU marketing team. What the hell are they doing? Pretty sad when some no name or use chinese coin and a blatant Aurora coin copy cat (Isracoin) can get a TON of press, while GPU coin with all it's great ideas and product behind it get's ABSOLUTELY NO MEDIA ATTENTION? I have supported and mined this coin since day one, but I may even quit if Jaymes or his marketing team don't start advertising, marketing, promoting, and getting a web presence for the coin. I have been saying this since 20 satoshi, it's ALL about marketing. Look at what DOGE did with NOTHING but marketing. Now we are at 2 satoshi, spending some of the GPU coin pre-mine on advertising when we were at 20 satoshi looks pretty good in the rear view mirror now, eh? Now we are down 90% and YOU MUST STILL ADVERTISE, but now it costs you 10 times more. We can debate all week about the halving and fork, but without proper promotion this coin will die, PERIOD. Does the CEO or Marketing team even care? IF so, I sure would hope they would post their plans on marketing the coin here already. This is a defining moment in time for this coin. The marketing I have been bitching about for a month needs to happen from the top and a competent team. This is a moment in time like Apple's stock was in the 90's, when the company was going to go out of business and the stocks was $1 (let's call it 2 satoshi like GPUC). Their only viable product was their MP3 like player, and there were many other MP3 players in the marketplace, but Apple marketed the F#CK out of their iPod, and the next thing you know, everyone is talking about it, buying it, using it, and then they become one of the most profitable companies ever, the stock goes to $800, well you know the rest. Funny thing is Steve Jobs gets all the credit for the success of Apple, but that idiot couldn't invent, build, or even program a computer. Wozniak was the brains of the operation. But Steve Jobs sure the F#CK knew how to sell the shit out of something. The point of my TL;DR rant is if you can't market, get someone who can and will immediately.

Potcoin is also a good example of what marketing and active development can do to a coin's value. Not to mention if you keep track of market trends, Potcoin is the only one which is really shining right now.

I sold my holdings due to lack of communication. The coin is really close to death and I wanted out while I still could make something out of it.
Back to vertcoin with long term...

Thanks just delete the two exe files, then replace with the new one. all the old info will be there. texted on windows 7 ultimate 64bit i'd like to test if the wallet works switching coins between the two if someone would be kind enough to send a single coin i'll send it right back.

BitcoinMiner one is a false positive.. I've never seen the Variant.Graftor before though.. can you scan the old Wallet see if you get the same hits.. I don't think i have anything .. but let me double check my entire system... ok looks like Graftor is only the bitcoind.exe which wasn't included in the original zip. You don't need to use that, just the QT. .. since i built both binaries on the same machine , it's likely a false positive in the daemon client.

Just download and run. No major run time changes (since block is still < 65535) What will the hardfork change in terms of coin specs? Very little. It just moves up the first halving by 3 months or so... everything else stays the same.

Has ANYONE heard from Jaymes? Whats concerning is that the developer doesnt hear from him anymore..... Definitely a bad sign..... Well at least we still have his registered address, I might need to round up a friend or two and take the 4 hour drive down there, and have a face to face with him.. Let me check my weekend schedule. Hes still on the hook for this.
