Yes of course Knowing when to stop holding your investments will make you a better earnings to your current holding currency because holding too much our favorite coins sometimes can lose your regular investments. That's why I choose to really check what strategy should I do to my holding currency when the market is in a low value like this year of 2018.
we have to make sure that we understand what have we done with our money in market.especially to face extremely market movement.sometimes market move uncontroll and outside our prediction.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Due to the market is depression and volatility, I think no one can predict the crypto market, for me, if you buy the coin in the highest price and find the market is dropping, it better to setup you cut loss price and cut your loss.

To the question: when to stop long-term investments? I will answer unequivocally: you do not need to leave the market and in no case do not sell altcoins, which were trusted a year or six months ago. Currently, the likelihood that prices will rise much more than the market will go down.

When investors invest in projects for a long time, they expect to make very large profits in the future. Investors believe that these projects will become very popular in the future. Therefore, yes, we must continue to hold.

I do not think it's out of control. As this is one of the most risky mayors nowadays, it also brings very crazy profits. Have you ever made a few thousand dollars from several hundred dollars, and you watch it normally. When you lose a few thousand dollars feel the same

It's much easier to hold crypto than trying to play trading. Most people believe that crypto will grow dramatically in a few years. With this assumption the HODL strategy is good in long terms anyway.

In a bear market to hold coins useless but if you catch the bottom of the coin then it is worth to buy and hold.
Well, those people who have long been in the deal they certainly better to stay in coins and not sell , I think you can buy your coins which you hold with the restoration of the market you quickly regained your funds

It is not a good thing to do HOLD/HODL in cryptocurrency.
For me it is better to be wiser than just waiting.
50 percent of your holdings are good to hold but do play wise for the other half.
you can do buy low and sell high. If you did a good strategy even at low market now you can see a good value on your token still.

Yes, I also read such opinions at first - many have stated that it is better for beginners to engage only in long-term hold. Then I was able to verify the advantages of trading, although I also continued to engage in long-term hold. But there is no unified risk minimization strategy - in each case, the decision is made individually, depending on the specific coin.

Newbies can easily be influenced from what they hear from speculations.. I've read several times people tend to advice to hold long term. because its easy for them to say JUST HOLD cause theyre not the one losing! For me its not all about holding, its being smart about your own invesment know when to stop and cut the losses.

What are your thoughts?

I'm glad I didn't blindly hodl as some would say.
I have accepted the loss in Q1 and started to slowly sell my portfolio in exchange for stable coins to preserve value.
While I was crying selling all the way down in Q2, I am now happy that I did it and can now buy more of the coins I sold  Grin
Accepting that you sold or are selling at a loss is always the most difficult.

I'm glad I sold to preserve value.

By actively monitoring and participating productively in various programs, in addition to obtaining a broad source of income, you will also know the development of market value. So at that time, you can sell your coins that have grown in value. And when the market value is experiencing a lot of setbacks, it's best to hold and wait until the situation improves first.

With the right portfolio and selection of assets for investment, hodl strategy is really one of the most profitable. You can say anything here, but millionaires are people with endurance. If you don't have endurance - go away.

Someone should understand how the crypto market work we should understand the level and volume of the price especially those doing a day trade.

All investors develop a strategy for positive and negative changes in the price of their assets. They know how much they are willing to lose and at what level of profit they are willing to sell. That is why they can talk about long-term investments.

As soon as you close a position, you fix losses. For me, this is not the best idea, at least in this market. When there was an uptrend, I could safely sell at -20% and go looking for a new asset, now I was not given the opportunity.

I am not restricted in making HODl, so my point is that I am trying to create portfolio for a long term and I don't care about its decrease, because I aimed to hold for a long term!

Trading doesn't suit most participants of the market, some of them are dilettantes, others are ordinary bounty hunters. That's why almost all suffer losses in case of the downfall. Only resilience and work may change the situation.

Of course, selling and fixing losses is not the best option. However, if you have a promising investment coin that will cover your losses, why not do it?
Now you could invest in EOS, it has grown by more than 25% in price in a few days.
