Know when to stop a HODL/HOLD

I can say that I'm a beginner, but I choose not to do daily or weekly trading. I choose to buy at low and hold it till i get enough profit out of holding and sell it on high. And i really choose on where to invest my money, a trustworthy team, a progressive project and a supportive community.

People who don't know when to stop are consider pro because I have friends that get into crypto very early and they have 100 to thousands of bitcoin ,Its what crypto world called whales ,they never even sell till date ,they believe its not yet time

to keep coins is also an art. You should always know when to drop these coins in time and when to hold them for a long time, because I think the best project for holding is 2 top coins - Bitcoin and ethereum. They can withstand long-term investments

Here the OP said about when to stop holding and actually Hold was done with the aim to get a price increase or an investment that certainly had a target. with the target if it has been reached it will stop their hold.

Its up to the one holding the coins and tokens ,every one gots their target and when that target is reached they decide to sell some or sell all ,like me I have my target to and I'm playing not to be too greedy

One of the main reason to hold cryptocurrencies is to gain profits but in the crypto market, we may see the sudden pump and dump in this scenario we may be vigilant to hold the coins for fast profits or else the coins profits may be blocked for a long period of time

IMO holding is about speculative the right point where another strong reversal starts and throw the market deep down like 2017, those times coins are 10x mostly and people aren't care about a surface project that worthed $300m for no reason. Basically you have did some research, and make a realistic future value that asset is suppose to have through it development and appreciation. You don't mindlessly hold a shitcoin hoping it to 100x in months. There's volume associated, lots of characteristics to determine a good project to HODL, you do review your position time to time, taking your profit to sell and buy a little more.

With regards to holding, you don't just keep any ordinary coin in your wallet and you just watch it continuously going down without selling it. There are only few legit projects that are worth holding because you know very well that such coins would surely rise after any massive drop.

But in case you are in the middle of holding and you just realize that your money is just getting smaller and smaller each day, and when it's almost equal to nothing, will you still sell it (knowing that you're only gonna get a little but sure amount) or continue holding in return to the chance of getting good amounts when it miraculously pumps?

There is more 2000 different coin and token in market and its true that not all project are suitable HODL. Many exchangers delisted the project from market because many reason and one of that reason is the developers team no longer active or daily transaction volume very low. Better choose altcoin with big daily volume and the developers team always communicate with community

When I hold some alts I usually try to keep my eye on its price, so I sell when price stars to go down.

You are good then. Some people still hold even when they see the going draining daily. I can only hold a coin when am really sure I want it for long term. That way, I take my eyes completely off it.

Long Hodl only makes sense when you hold currencies that have value and support, but if the cryptocurrency was created for the purpose of speculation and is crap, then a long hold will not help and one day the coin will just disappear from the market. That's true. But there are also a few situations when holding bring you losses. Therefore, it's better to consider project perspective in case of long-term holding.

I think if the market crashes or the bitcoin will first sell you holding altcoins or hold altcoins because it's a great opportunity to lose you when the bitcoin crashes the way the other holders know they have bitcoin.

One should only HODL atls when the project have a good roadmap and the devs are following it. The reason for it is that the management has real plans for the project which is worth investing. And then once investors see the project is moving forward then they will put money to it because there is real value to the project and investors can gain from it.

I think newbies don't simply hodl so it does not matter. Just hodl! is good if you hodl bitcoin but otherwise you need to stop hodling one time.

Well, if we talk about long-term investment, then I think if a beginner can buy an asset in time, sooner or later he will get his profit, but it is important to have patience
