Don't forget that actually I'm giving good discounts to new CAT Customers and new API PurchaseThis will continue until i'll be able to determine a new price list. BTC Price is too instable actually so i'm not able to do this Is this still the case?

can CAT be used to "accumulate" a token that has low volume.
i'd like to set it up to just buy very small orders over days / weeks.

Hey CAT users, I've just started using CAT with very small trades.
Is using the default settings recommended?
Inside Generators and Parameters --> Mode --> General --> "Create Ping Orders Only If % Market Spread is > ?
Is 0 the ideal parameter? If I'm interpreting it correctly, putting a larger number there would mean a larger spread? Why would you want to trade with a higher spread? Wouldn't it be better if we get an option to trade with a lower spread?
I'm still trying to figure out what a lot of settings actually mean and how they are useful.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers.

Spread = difference between buy and sell. if you set spread to 0% then you'll make no profit since commission will be something like 0.2%, spread actually means minimum profit which can be made - if you want to make many fast trades with small profit keep it low, if you want to make less trades but with more profit keep it high. I only just started using C.A.T myself, but generally have mt spread between 0.7% and 10% depending upon the coin. It will be interesting to see what other people are using for this value. If you set the value to 0.4% and exchange commission is 0.2%, then 50% of your profit will go to the exchange, so you must have a strategy which works very well to get good returns.

Sampley please how do I solve this ? I spent hours of setting parameters (you know how time consuming that is) and now please dont tell me I have to restart. if you are able to press FILE -> SAVE you can save all your parameters. If you have auto-backup active you can restore a backup file. Sometimes java got GUI glitch, like many other application, there's no much i can do about it : it depends by the OS, the Java Version and many other things out of my control. If you have some error log inside CATSystem folder, please send me that file.

No I am not. Its just getting frozen every few days. Even if I would, 10-50% of the orders doesnt get loaded anyway. Its just too much hussle with each restart thats why I trade manually although I have the C.A.T. And once in a while when I do find time, gets frozen I am tearing my hair out and throwing computers outta window. Basically, saving the params doesnt change much as there is 1/10th up to a half of zombies.
I have to go there, not sure if you can solve that anyway and I end up with even more wasted time again. Damn it!
What Java do I have to use, or is there any soft I need to get installed to prevent this?

you must also consider the fact that during these days of heavy load many exchanges like Poloniex got a lot of problems in connection and api. CAT is able to manage that situation but when site stops works good there could be more problems. First suggestion is to use 1 CAT instance for any exchange : so if you wants to trade on 2 exchanges run 2 CAT instance. Second : always set the automatic backup routine. I don't know anything about your OS and your java installation. Just install the latest Java version and if you are running a lot of markets consider the option in 5.0 version to run CAT using more RAM.

Hi! I'm new and still learning
Where are these options in the current version?
- Never Buy Over Your Last Sell Price - Never Sell Under Your Last Buy Price
After reading they were under generator / mode / general tab but it appears as though they were removed, can someone please tell me where those options are or the alternatives to accomplish the same thing without having to calculate this in my head.
Figured this out, it has been moved under price limit and re-worded
Also, buy and sell / pool values, i'm having great difficulty understanding the concept and what they're used for, even after reading the guide and approx 140 pages of this thread. My understanding is that current buy pool for btc means that if i enter a figure in these settings it will never use over the amount that i specify, is this correct?
Cheers

take a look at that schema (you can find it here : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.msg5590902#msg5590902) BSP (buy/sell pool) simulate the "user" who create a new Ping order in automatic mode. BSP is a part of the CAT infinite loop. you can manage BSP behaviour in many ways. PS : if you don't find an info in the guide/tips & tricks, ask me directly. You won't find nothing interesting in the 140 topic pages

I'm trading on Kraken and from the orders I see, I'm fighting against bots, so I guess I will need one myself. I will spend some time reading and looking before spending 0.23BTC though.

Different exchanges have now very different exchange rates. Is there a plan for arbitrary trading?
The different rates are caused by the difficulty and cost to actually transfer money to/from some of the exchanges, so how are you going to arbitrage that ?

The different rates are caused by the difficulty and cost to actually transfer money to/from some of the exchanges, so how are you going to arbitrage that ? it will be a "user parameter" you can add. If you know that withdraw from exchange X costs 2% And you want a net gain of 1%, your parameter will be 1% + 2 % + Order Fee (0.25%?) = 3,25% And CAT will works with 3,25% Gain
