That can be treasury bonds or even assets like gold, precious metals, or other cryptocurrencies.

I think USDT used to claim to be backed by the USD in their bank reserves but with time this changed to USD and various cash equivalents. It's just a fancy way to say they don't have as much USD as the USDT that's floating around.

You're right, the issue comes from the third-party merchant, which is causing delays for users who deposit using local money. I believe the problem is not on BC. However, in my country, most people do not understand why inflation occurs, and they still keep their money in fiat currency.
