Furthermore IPL won’t ever be beaten ever, because franchises, player’s, and the boards earn a lots of revenues from it, plus additional deals like merchandise sales earnings etc can’t be replicated by any other league because the audience size of IPL is way too big, and therefore I don’t think any other league can beat IPL.

Wow actually did not know that IPL is that highly rated. It's actually very good to hear. And IPL also is a very good medium from which a lot of young players and young talents come to light. Before this type of league, players had to do really hard work to prove themselves and if they were unlucky it was really hard for them to do so, but now it's not like the players don't need to work hard but it has certainly become easier.

And under the circumstances, it's hard to arrange tournaments at all. so it's a good thing that cricket is still being played and getting some international exposure.

Pakistan is a good team, and if the country hasn't got any security issues the team could've made themselves even stronger than now. Also PSL might've gained even more popularity. Always the rivalry between India and Pakistan is kept active through some means.

Pakistanis are too good in T20 and have talent that can perform well specially in T20 format. If you see the quality of fast bowling in PSL then it's matchless. If pcb can raise some money to invest in PSL then it will get due attention globally. For now just enjoy the game.

There are other sports also in India but they don't generate as much revenue as IPL, reason is people are not much interested in those games. As of now, Pakistan is second most populated country in Cricket community, and they have some very good and exciting players in last few decades but sadly due to some very poor management and security issues they lost very good time which hurt them very badly, but every bad thing is had an end so this same happening in Pakistan recently with new management and new government is working on few things which need intention for improving quality of life and things in positive way this year we have some good number of changes in PSL which are helping to improve fan base and their revenue surely in coming years this could be second most famous league in cricket world, and they will do some more good things for having better and skilled players for excitement.

Just few minutes ago we have very exciting end of match between Lahore Qalandars vs Peshawar Zalmi in chase of 199 Zalmi done 170/9 which give Qalandars second win of this season, and now they are at second spot in league table.

The existing franchises can retain up to 4 players (although not all the franchises have done that). That puts the new franchises in a bad position, as most of the star players are not available. Only those players who are out of form and kicked out of their old franchises are available for auction. Examples are KL Rahul and Hard dick Pandya. And that is the reason why I am not expecting these two franchises to perform properly for the first one or two seasons. It is going to take some time for them to catch up with the other franchises.

Yes, that is true and I think that might be a reason why even though PCL has a really good fan following it still does not generate the revenue that it should. They should seriously think about generating better revenue. Piracy is killing their revenue by a large margin. Right now every good thing is paid and they need to realize that. Just make it paid.

In this matter, an argument can be made both ways because this is good for the players but not good for the franchises.

Especially the new ones because of the reasons that it was mentioned previously in your post. But on the other hand, it can be good for the players because the players who are in form would still be able to play in the same theme and those who are kicked out of form will be able to try their luck in their new home. So, it has certain pros and cons in my opinion.

Khulna has won and maybe you have won your bet too. Sylhet was able to give a target of 143 runs. As Sylhet started, 142 is a big collection for them. But Khulna won the match by collecting 144 runs in 14.2 overs. Andre Fletcher was unbeaten on 71 off 46 balls. Soumya Sarkar scored 43 runs off 31 balls. And Perera was unbeaten on 22 off 9 balls. The match was very enjoyable. Khulna Tigers are now fourth in the points table.

Yes, the problem is everyone doesn't want to pay for everything and looks for what is free. The media houses who actually manage to get their hands on the rights, I think that they make the best out of it. But it's also a good thing that Sony started to upload bilateral series on YouTube. Yes, the problem is everyone doesn't want to pay for everything and looks for what is free. Well its not always about ability to pay etc but easy access to masses as well. Easy access in interweb like youtube etc brings new fans, doesn't matter if they love-play the game or not but it could definitely attract more eyeballs.

for example in India cricket is popular because its almost free to watch on tele, all you have to do is spend 300-400 rs for cable and you get all sort of entertainment options including sports channels but at the same time compare this system with England and Australia, completely opposite situation. Props to BCCI.

But when its comes to online presence (highlights, short clips) BCCI and service providers do terrible job. You can't expect everyone to visit BCCI site every time they want to see 2 mins action.

I guess they can't upload these clips to YouTube, due to T&C of the television contract. Maybe BCCI should cut down on greed and ask the media rights holders to make highlights of already completed matches freely available for all. I am a regular visitor of YouTube channels of ECB and CA, and every now and then they upload full highlights to their channel (for example the recently concluded Ashes). I don't know why the BCCI can't do the same. Maybe they need to reduce the sale amount for TV rights by 4% or 5%.

It is foolish to compare IPL with other leagues. However, PSL is not yet popular enough. IPL is enjoyed by people all over the world. At the same time if we consider BPL then it is also quite popular in their own country. But PSL is not very popular compared to them. This is why the board of Pakistan wants to popularize it first. They want viewers to watch it for free. As popularity grows, the board will decide to discontinue telecasts from the free platform.
