This year's IPL viewership has dropped. In comparison with the previous edition, the TV rating (TVR) of IPL 2022 has dropped by 33%. This should be cause for concern for BCCI. The season looks boring this time around as compared to previous years. Cricket League must innovate to attract and increase its fans.

Yes, it has dropped significantly and there can be multiple reasons for it such as lengthy scheduling of games, too much cricket, and one of the major can be the addition of new teams. These signs can hamper the revenue of BCCI in the future. I think the major reason might be scheduling, they should reduce it to one month game rather than two months.

There are so many teams and its hard to remember which team is playing against which time. Our local TV channels doesn't broadcast IPL so I get update from the forum - but then again there is some interesting news which catches the attention, Why has the viewership decreased? any reason?

Mumbai's management made a mistake in picking players. They do not have a good finisher batsman. Pollard is an experienced player. But he is not performing well now. We have seen his poor performance in the last few seasons. Mumbai's biggest weakness is that their bowling lineup is very weak. Apart from Bumrah, there is no other experienced bowler in the team. Mumbai Indians have lost every match due to poor bowling.

I agree with you. There is no other experienced bowler on the Mumbai team except Bumrah. Mumbai's poor bowling has been well visible in every match. Out of the five matches, Mumbai has bowled first in two matches and in these two matches, the opponent has given a target of more than 190 runs. In the other three matches, the opponents have been able to win quite easily by batting against Mumbai's target. Mumbai set a target of 162 against Kolkata. And Kolkata won the match in just 16 overs. It is easy to guess from this that Mumbai's bowling lineup is very weak.

I’ll add one more reason and that’s overconfidence from the management in the selection of the squad during the auctions, because as you’ll rightly said there was absolutely no reason to hold onto Pollard.
Furthermore even after having the home advantage they have suffered defeats which is really bizarre, and now I feel that they should change the lineup and experiment player’s with an eye on the next season, because it’s evidently clear that the playing 11 isn't good enough and some of them need to be dropped.

Hardik, pollard are middle-lower order batters and mostly fit in finisher role (although hardik is in new role for Gujrat), Krunal isn't established batter. In the past Rayudu was impactful player for the MI but he's with CSK since 2017 so it's not logical to bring his name in this context.

Tilak is inexperienced for sure but he's averaging almost 40 with the strike rate of 160, that's kind of credentials you want from any batters in the t-20. Also he's only 19 so it's good that MI investing on young player.

Batting first kkR have given target of 175 which is relatively low in current psl edition. Andre Russell 49 runs on 25 balls was the main reason why KKR manage to reach such total. SRH are going good so far as they have scored 105 runs in 11 overs and lost only 2 wikcets. I think SRH are going to win.

The performance of Kolkata bowlers was very disappointing. I expected a better performance from Kolkata today. The performance of the top order batsmen was poor. Yes Mumbai is always famous for giving new youngsters a chance.(Already seen Bumrah and Hardik). And yes i respect the team for that.
But this time to be honest, it's not working in overall team's performance. I am not blaming the newcomers not the captains either.
The team's analyst should come with a better plan, else they need to bid farewell to this season.

For Today's match, I would suggest that it would be great if Dewald opens with Rohit and Ishan goes in first down, also Pollard next.
This might be a gamechanger suggestion, as if pollard gets to play at least 25 balls and becomes settle in the crease, then at death overs he has the capability to hit powerful sixes and score runs.

Hyderabad won this important match and they played well enough. Their team is stable enough. And they have a team that deserves to be in the top 4 of the table. But their top order players need to be more responsible. Abhishek Sharma and Williamson have played well in almost every match. The bowlers are performing well. And so they are able to perform as expected

It looks like Mumbai is going to lose their sixth match today. Mumbai won the toss and elected to bowl. But at the end of 16 overs, LSG collected 155 runs and lost two wickets. Opener and captain Kl Rahul is still unbeaten on 81 off 46 balls. Today's LSG will probably collect the highest runs of the tournament if Rahul is not out. My guess is that the Super Giants will be able to hit more than 220 targets today.
