Perhaps this is an indication that there is not enough talent available in India for a 10-team competition? I had mentioned this many months ago. The BCCI should seriously consider raising the threshold of foreign players in the XI from 4 to 5, and that in the squad from 8 to 10. Yesterday, for both the teams the disadvantage came from young local players (Mukesh Choudhary, Tushar Deshpande.etc). If the BCCI want to maintain the quality, then they should allow one more overseas player in the XI. 

I agree with you. Since now the number of teams has increased. So it is very difficult to find the necessary talented domestic players. If the number of teams was less then maybe there would not be so many problems. Moreover, local players are not experienced enough for platforms like IPL. Increasing the number of foreign players could be a good solution. Let's see what BCCI decides next season.

I could not agree more. Preference should be given to domestic players in IPL. If BCCI does not do this, it will be difficult to find the necessary talented players for the future Indian national team.
I know Indian domestic leagues are enough quality. But in the IPL, the domestic players get the opportunity to play in the same squad with the experienced foreign players, as a result of which the domestic players also become experienced. BCCI is giving priority to domestic players for the good future of their national team.

A T20 match between Papua New Guinea and Malaysia was played today. Batting first, Malaysia scored 196 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. I thought Malaysia might win easily. But to my surprise, Papua New Guinea won the match by scoring 199 runs in just 17.5 overs. They have lost only two wickets. Assad Vala was unbeaten on 74 off 51 balls and Tony Ura was unbeaten on 86 off 34 balls. Interestingly, Tony Ura hit 10 over boundaries.

But Papua New Guinea played really well and especially Tony played the innings of his life. Obviously deserve the man of the match award. It was great to see all those sixes in one match.

Kolkata played well against Punjab Kings today. Batting first, Punjab Kings scored only 137 runs. I never thought that Kolkata bowlers would be able to stop a team like Punjab in such a short run. After that, Kolkata lost 4 important batsmen for only 51 runs. Then, with the help of Andre Russell's devastating innings of 70 off 31 balls, Kolkata scored 141 runs off just 14.3 balls. Despite playing well in the first match, Punjab's performance in today's match was very poor.

It's a great news for KKR that Andre Russel and Umesh are in the best form. Besides, Sunil Narine and Chakaravarthy did really well in the last match. If the players of KKR can able to perform regularly then it will be easy to win against any strong team.

This time there is tremendous performance from every team. The expected teams were losing the matches. Today KKR also lost consecutive wickets, but Andre Russell came at the right time and brought a winning for Kolkata Knight Riders. If KKR have lost two more wickets, the match would've gone very close. KKR winning the toss is also a reason for the win.

Their top-order batting (Mayank Agarwal & Shikhar Dhawan) looks OK, but their bowling lineup is really pathetic. Apart from Kagiso Rabada, they have a bunch of inexperienced and incapable bowlers such as Sandeep Sharma, Arshdeep Singh and Harpreet Brar. Similar to the case with SRH, Punjab Kings also have a very unbalanced squad. Middle order batting also looks vulnerable, with players like Raj Bawa and Shahrukh Khan.

It may be because we have now too many teams in IPL aka 10. Producing 10 quality teams is not an easy task. Also we know that IPL is happening without world's best T20 boys i.e. PAKISTAN, so you have to compromise a bit. Still i would say, PBKS have fantastic start of tournament as they chased down 205 runs target by RCB. Its just there second game.

Even i thought Mumbai Indians would bounce back from the first loss and win the match, but it was another disappointment as i picked Mumbai to win and since they were chasing i thought they will win the match but they failed big time to win their second match in a row.

Delhi Capitals is chasing 172 runs and they already lost 3 wickets and i picked Gujarat Titans to win the match and hopefully they can pick wickets in regular interval and put pressure back on them.

Mumbai batsman didn’t finished in properly. Chahal did good job today with bowl.He is outstanding today but he deserverd Hat-trick, But Catch was drooped. Jos Buttler, He did scored 100 and It's 1st 100* this season.

Mumbai should have won this match. They were defeated by 23 runs. While Rohit Sharma and Singh did not play well, Ishan Kisanand  Tilak's performance was admirable. I think Mumbai lost because of Pollard's poor performance. It is difficult to accept that an experienced and T20 specialist like him will score only 22 runs from 24 balls. Mumbai could have won if he had done a little better.

In this season we can't predict which team is going to be on the top four. In today's match Ferguson was the game changer taking the wicket of Prithvi Shaw, Mandeep, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel. Every wicket fell at the right moment, Prithvi Shaw just started to play his regular opening shots. Then Mandeep wicket fall when he took responsibility and started to score little. Rishabh Pant lost his wicket when he kept the match alive and Axar caught out when he was giving hope of a win. Small mistakes have caused this loss and this will change in the upcoming matches.

Tomorrow we have Chennai Super Kings and Punjab Kings and even i agree with your assessment that they are one of the weakest team this season and i am expecting Chennai Super Kings to have their first victory tomorrow. Raj Bawa is a young talent and he might be under pressure as he was dismissed in the first game with a LBW on a full toss, may be pressure got the better of him.

What is surprising is that i thought every week ends we have two matches daily but tomorrow there is only one match and that too on a Sunday.

In the 6th match of tri nation cup going on in Nepal,  Nepal beat Malaysia by 85 runs. Nepal gave a target of 223, Dipendra Singh Airee played a not out innings of 110. Haven't seen Dipendra in any league so far. Such tournaments will help players of associate teams to make it to leagues like IPL.
