After watching vlog v2 series , feel like izzy is maintaining minimum weight for light heavyweight to keep his speed. ( at first i thought it was some mind game , and izzy come out liao around same weight with jan blachowicz  ).

it's gonna be a good fight , gonna stick with my bet with Israel for this match , don't think the legendary polish power able to land a single clean shot on israel.

Recent interview with Adensanya suggests hes looking to come into the fight at less than 205 pounds. Whats your thoughts on this? I know some people have suggested he will struggle with Jans frame, and power and by not coming in heavier than suggested, and I think that could definitely be a contributing factor in the fight. However, I don't agree with the argument completely. Since, Izzy's style doesn't rely on his strength per say, it relies on his speed, and agility. The power is a factor, because of his speed. By putting on too much weight he would be risking that, due to not being conditioned in the octagon with the newly added weight. So, no matter how much he puts on, he will probably feel the difference. So, by not coming in heavier than 205 pounds, he is reducing the risk of not being conditioned with the added weight, and can hopefully adapt his style, without losing his speed.

Besides, the strength vs speed trade off isn't worth in my opinion, because even if he were to put on more weight, he's unlikely to get to Jan's level of strength. So, Izzy needs his speed, and agility to prevent this fight from hitting the ground. If it hits the ground Izzy is going to struggle regardless of weight. So, as previously suggested Izzy needs to keep his distance, and pick his shots while mitigating that risk of a takedown. Jan has heavy hands, and that's always going to be a risk, and is pretty fast for his size, but Izzy should be able to avoid the heavy punches since he's definitely faced much quicker opponents in the past.

The thing to think about here is how many TD’s would Blachowicz attempt in this match?  I’m not looking at the stats right now but judging from his last fights, on top of my head maybe 3 TD’s at most...?  If so, I don’t think coming in lighter would be a problem for Adesanya.  But if Blachowicz is coming in with a wrestling heavy game plan, Adesanya is dead.  He’ll be rag dolled around the cage.  Lol.

I just listened to Ariel Helwani interviews for ESPN with Israel Adensanya and Jan Blachowicz and Ozzy will be much lighter than his opponent and weight difference may be around 30 pounds.
Why would he need to force himself to bulk up and slow down with unexpected results, when he can just do his usual thing and wait for Blachowicz to make a mistake for being too eager.
But if we wants to win, he must survive the first round and avoid heavy punches, and he can do good even in jiujitsu because I think he is purple belt now.

UFC 259: Błachowicz vs. Adesanya

A really good card and guys in case you don't know stake is offering 3x winnings for betting on Adesanya as he is their brand ambassador but that is offered if he manages to finish the fight before the bell.

I am not promoting them but just informing bettors since I am quite sure the fight will end early as Adesanya is moving into a new weight class and 3x winnings is lucrative although max capped at $250.

There is even value in betting "Błachowicz to win via KO" since Adesanya is moving to 205lbs which means he will be the smaller guy in the cage and might get knocked out against the more comfortable Błachowicz who is natural at 205lbs.

It is sad that in UFC is not like in boxing, if you win your opponent, you get all his belts. Blachowicz will just defend his title, but Adesanya might get two belts. Izzy is in more profitable situation.

Israel Adesanya and Jan Blachowicz belong to different weight divisions. This is also similar in boxing. A boxer cannot win the belt of the other boxer from a different weight division, howver, he can unify the other belts from the different boxing organizations within the same weight division.

Well, the thing is a fighter can win a belt in a different division because he, at the point of the fight, is in fact in that division. Adesanya will not be fighting in a different division than Blachowicz but at the same division. Adesanya being a champ in another division has nothing to do with him belonging to that division, he belongs to whatever division he weighs in for. You are only required to weigh in for that division the day before the fight so the rest of the time you are not locked into a division or have to correlate yourself with it. If Jan wanted to fight for the Middleweight belt he would have to drop down and then fight for it, and that really makes sense. Winning some title in a weight class you are not fighting in at that point just because your opponent once fought and holds the belt in it would be completely ridiculous. You are completely right about the boxing and MMA correlation.

This will be a great fight, the weight difference by Blachowicz with respect to Adesanya makes your blows much stronger.

I already said that I trust the Technique of Adesanya, it has to appeal to his talent, free of fear, although Blachowicz has more mass, this makes it slower, Adesanya has to overcome the Blachowicz force and be faster. I do not see that Adesanya I can suffer a K.O, because he is also boxer and this helps a lot, although everything is possible.

 The best strategy that Adesanya can set is to escape from Blachowicz's right, I´m sure he will come out with everything, I´m worried because Blachowicz dominates the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, which is a strong fighting style.

Adesanya via TKO is def live imo.  And if it’s gonna happen, I think it’s gonna be in R4 and specifically with a question mark kick to the head, wobbling Blachowicz, Adesanya goes after him with punches and the ref stops it a tad early for Adesanya to seal the W.  

My leans now after watching some tape, no bets yet, are:  over 2.5 rounds for the main event, Yan to win, Askarov to win, Dominick Cruz to win and Elliot to win...  I’ll wait til weigh ins before making the bets.

^ Alistair Overeem should finally retire as he failed his last mission in UFC, but he had a great carrier and I think he gave his best according to 40 years he have.
He didn't say he will end carrier in MMA so we it is possible to see him in Bellator or some other organization but he would be much better saving his head and resting.
Maybe it's best to try ad get a contract in WWE like Ronda Rousey

I would say that both should retire, but I also have seen a number of their recent interviews and they seemed not to think about retirement. Now, I think they would still be competitive in some other promotions, and I would argue that Bellator would not be a good choice for them. One championship has a really shallow HW division and the budget and need for well-known fighters, and Alistair has already made a name for himself in Japan, so a smarter move would be to seek out One before going to Bellator or PFL. However...and this just pains me to think...but JDS, in particular, could end up in Bare Knuckle Fighting. I am not sure I want to see that.

I agree with you, age is just a number, with 43 years and / or 46 what exists is a lot of experience earned, you know how is the preparation, maybe youth is a treasure that can be very well taken advantage of next to talent , But the preparation, knowledge, experience in fights makes you know your limit and as far as you can get there. Weigh ins in a couple of hours guys.  What do you guys think of the over/under on Adesanya’s weight?  Over 195 lbs or under?    I’m picking over...  It would’ve made a good side bet itt if I had some BTC to spare.  

Anyway, I’m back and forth on Yan vs Sterling...  Again.  I feel like Sterling will be ahead in points after two rounds, start slowing down at the third round then Yan takes over at the late rounds.  Dunno...  I think it’s a good spot for a live bet for Yan.

But I think he needs to be under the 205lbs limit so to fight as a light heavy weight.
