Hey Fivestar4everMVP, I see you are new guy here. Welcome !
yeah, i am a new guy here indeed as the above is my first ever comment here, thank you for the welcome, i hope to become active on this thread going forward.

Quote
We usually make sort of a event-fight discussion when they are about to happen. The fight you have posted will happen only on UFC 282 and we still have 4 events till then.
Forgive my ignorance, most of us make mistakes on the first time right? i hope you understand Grin.

Quote
But, since you've asked here are my thoughts. I dont know why exactly this fight caught your attention, probably because of Pimbletts growing popularity and UFC is promoting him,
Am gonna be honest with you bud, i am pretty new to UFCs, i watched a fight few days back and picked interest, i was looking for ways and how to start placing bets on the fights, i reached out to a forum member whom i believed to be a long time follower of UFC fights, and in the course of our chats, he asked me to get prepared to place my first bet on this fight come December 10th 2022.
I hope the above clears you are every other reader here on why it looked as if i am having a special interest on this fight.

Quote
but his opponent is not really a tough guy. Pimblett is 3-o in UFC, Gordon is 7-4 in UFC only. He is an average fighter. I dont expect much from this fight. UFC management one again is picking easy fight for their new milking cow. As Gordon is concentrated on wrestling and BJJ, it will be hard for Pimblett to use his beloved rear naked choke. So this fight is going to be a KO or decision by Paddy the fatty.
Clear enough, thank you for your comment on this man, I very much appreciate it...
though I don't know what 3-0, 7-4 mean actually, i am a total newbie here  Grin

3-0 and 7-4 - these are fighters records, Paddy has 3 win and 0 looses in UFC, and Gordon 7 wins and 4 looses.

I see that you want to start betting, so that might be important to you. Before placing a bet, make a closer look at fighters fighting history. He might be super cool and undefeated in his local league, but when he comes to UFC, it is completely different level. For example if you see a fighter with 20 wins in a row and 0 looses, it does not mean that he 100% next champion. He could have beaten 19 newbies and only had one real tough fight. Always take into consideration fighters opponents. He might be beating low class fighters and had a good record. But an average UFC fighter will easily kick his ass.

I am not saying that UFC fighters are gods and other are lame. But often, champions of other organizations got beaten by unranked (not in top15) UFC fighters. So be wise and dont rush. Record is just a number.

There's will a three big fight on UFC282:

Jiri Prochazka vs Glover Teixeira
Jan Blachowicz vs Magomed Ankalaev
Paddy Pimblett vs Jared Gordon

I think it will be an easy fight for Prochazka since their previous fight Teixeira can't beat Prochazka's stamina and the fight end via submission. While Blachowicz vs Ankalaev seems to be a 50/50 fight, but I would bet Blachowicz since he's an underdog. Pimblett vs Gordon, Pimblett will win since he's better at ground fight have more power than Gordon.

Before this fight, I think we will be seeing the UFC 281 first but many surely want to get into the discussion for the Procházka vs. Teixeira 2 I know their 1st fight was really a massive big fight, and Prochazka won was really just awesome, but I think Teixeira still has a chance in winning against Prochazka, not just because of their stamina, but I think the Skill that Jiri Prochazka has shown on that fight, will be enough in dealing with Glover Teixeira, or Teixeira could indeed surprise us aswell,

2022 is a year full of upset fights. A match like this really needs to have a spectacular end like KO of the year.  But we don't know yet until it's over. Anyone can lose. The odds are with Izzy so they're positive that he can win this fight, it's not a time for him to confidently bend. Alex can take his belt easy with just one cross.

Adesanya, Israel 1.58
Pereira, Alex 2.40

Well, even though I am for Israel Adesanya on this there is still some doubts that revolves in my head if Izzy could really win this of Alex Pereira could aswell surprise us, because Izzy don't really do with the takedown's, and never really resulted in doing so just like Francis Ngannoue did, but well Israel Adesanya could surely surprise us aswell he could have something up his sleeves and pull it off 1st time on his career a takedown on Alex Pereira, and because this is MMA anything is really possible,

I got a big doubt that Pereira could win against Adesanya that now has a great record with MMA, kickboxing is a different combat sport than MMA, and even though he knockout Izzy in the past it doesn't mean he could do it again, and this time they will fight is a different playing field and I think Israel Adesanya is accustomed with the MMA than Pereira, for sure,
Kickboxing is different than MMA but Israel Adesanya is one of the few champions in modern MMA who is holding the belt without a great ground game, he has a pretty good ground defense but he likes the striking range which is kickboxing in almost all of his fights.

Alex Pereira is fighting for the belt in just his 4th fight in the UFC which is crazy and the funny thing would be if he defeats Israel Adesanya for the third time and then announces his retirement with a perfect record against Israel Adesanya it would be the greatest meme ever  Cheesy.

Adesanya, Israel 1.58
Pereira, Alex 2.40

Alex Pereira will be the bigger guy between the two and he is probably stronger than Israel Adesanya too. I expect this fight won't be on the ground which somehow benefits Alex Pereira's lack of MMA and UFC experience compared to Izzy. So in a stand-up fight, it'll be 50/50. Izzy may outpoint Pereira but the latter can also repeat another stoppage with his heavier strikes.

Is Pereira even a year already in the UFC? I watched his rematch with Vakhitov last year and I actually thought he was robbed there. But it's probably a blessing in disguise as he might get paid more here in the UFC. I have my bet on Pereira at 2.40. I am currently 1-9 on my last 10 bets from different sports so maybe I am a good indicator to bet on the opposite side. Cheesy

Thank you for the list and also your opinion on all this fights, i will make out time to do some research on all this fighters since i know non of them nor their fighting history, just as TopTort777 advised, and also i only know about Paddy Pimblett vs Jared Gordon fight on 10th of December , the other two fights i believe will happen before the 10th of December? i will also find out about the dates of this fights and follow up, thank you , i depend on you all to get good at this  Grin Grin.

Yeah man, of what use is it following competitions like this without trying to make some money from it? Grin Grin, indeed, you are correct, I want to start betting, I was an ardent lover of wresting but unfortunately, the community do not seeing wrestling as a form of sports, and majority of casinos do not offer betting on wrestling, i discovered UFC recently and after watching one of the fights,  I liked it and think its a good alternative to wrestling.

Thank you for all the advice mate, i really appreciate it, i will follow it as you said it, thank you.

Well, we don't say who is the really bigger guy, as long as they still didn't fight yet, and who's really going to win, for me, their fight on kickboxing was really the pinnacle of why there are many that are interested in Alex Pereira, and if he doesn't win that fight there will be no fight like this, but it was really crazy looking at his career fight in MMA his only lost was his debut, against Quemuel Ottoni with a rear naked choke submission and his win over Sean Strickland was pretty much crazy indeed, and Sean Strickland really underestimated Pereira so much that he goes straight to him like a suicidal terrorist, like his fight IQ is never to be found,

I used to be an Adesanya fan when he first came in the UFC.  But as time passed along, he became really cringey in interviews and press conferences.  And when it's time to fight his match in the cage, he became a bit boring the last couple matches.  It's prolly for stylistic reasons but still...  He got a bit boring.  But this one vs Pereira could get dicey for him as you guys already know why.  Then again could we see Adesanya add some wrestling in his game?  I think we could see Adesanya do more than a couple of TD's.  Dunno...  I feel like he has to.

Well, if he adds some takedowns this could be Alex Pereira's weakness, and we will never know this is MMA after all, and just like the Francis Ngannou fight with Cyril Gane, all were in shock when Ngannou performed a takedown on Gane, and Ciryl Gane didn't expect that, and his game plan was all thrown outside the window, and if Adesanya would perform something like that or he could pull it as a last resort against Pereira, that could be one epic comeback for him I know many are a bit bored with his style, on how he fights right now but that is really his game plan and he is really sticking to that and to be in a safe spot, for him winning is really important,

Maybe he was always like that and we just didn't know him well before he signed contract with UFC.
He is not boring for me to watch, and some spoiled people are expecting fighters should always perform with KO's like monkeys in circus, it doesn't work like that.
Adesanya always liked to play on safe side to receive smallest amount of punches possible, or he would end up like Diaz brothers with bloody scar faces.

^  LMAO.  It's not that I'm being spoiled and want more action or anything.  I do appreciate the finer parts of the game which I've def seen some people find it boring like the wrestling and the grappling side of MMA.  It's just Adesanya talks big, almost berating his opponents and then when it gets in the cage, nothing...  It was just the last three of his last matches tho.  And the one vs Yoel Romero.

His fights were lack luster as main events in PPV events after his loss vs Błachowicz is all I'm saying.  The main event this Fight Night weekend with Rodriguez vs Lemos could be more of a banger than Adesanya vs Cannonier.

Dont you find it strange that we are discussing Israel Adesanya and dont see Welsh somewhere here around ? Cheesy I am actually havent seen him for a while here. Must be preparing mentally that Adesanya could lose champs belt in a week (*joking*).

Yeah, I also think that Izzy is rather boring in his last fight. Or we could use words "predictable" or "we expect more from a champ". I actually get more fun from his pre fight interviews and trash talk, thank from his fights. But, on the other hand he does enough to win the fight. The judges see enough to count his as a winner. I think he understands, that if he is loosing by points, he will try to improve situation. For his this is just a job, and I bet you dont do extra at work also Cheesy Cheesy

Right now, a lot of people are saying that Israel Adesanya has lost his “special touch'' if I might say. Before he was very stylish and it felt like he did everything differently. But now I don’t necessarily think that he has become boring. It’s more like he's not as entertaining as he used to be.

Those people who always want knockout finishes obviously do not know anything about mixed martial arts. They just want some people to hurt others. They don’t even care about the fact that there is actually a skill set needed to do that. I don’t think Israel Adesanya has become boring. And I think he could win against Alex.

That is just Adesanyas fighting style. He has said in some of his interviews this year, that when the crowd boo on him because of no activity, he still prefers to fight 5*5min, even when he could finish the fight in first round. Not like he is afraid to risk, but he does not feel like he should risk. For him, a win is a win, no matter if it was a KO on a first minute or a decision. Hope you did not mean this Cheesy We dont need ground games like this.

He's not even being offensive here. that's a top-level TD skill. You rarely see someone in the cage in that position.  Cheesy

I think is a good strategy for Adesanya to initiate some TD against Pereira. Pereira doesn't have much experience on the ground fight, this will add to his likelihood to win. Adesanya did a good job with leg kicks vs Costa which he could also do against Pereira. If he can't wear down Pereira, he could lose.

I didn't mean that you are spoiled, but when you watch people in US arenas are starting to boo any fight that is not full of blood and kick punching action.
Adesanya is one of the smartest MMA fighters and I don't expect him to change anything major in his fight style, but I want to see him making more risk sometimes.
I am sure his next fight with Alex Pereira will be very interesting to watch, his biggest challenge in Middleweight category.

Dont you find it strange that we are discussing Israel Adesanya and dont see Welsh somewhere here around ?
Isn't Welsh traveling this days?
I think he said something like that few weeks ago, but don't worry, he is coming back home on time for big UFC fights.

Agreed, like you, I really don't consider him as boring, I think he just likes to be more of a defensive fighter in this kind of fight style both fighters are surely safe from blood cloth or brain damage, for sure, and I know we all have different likes when it comes with styles, and just like Mayweather he doesn't care at all as long as he is winning,

Hope you did not mean this Cheesy We dont need ground games like this.

That was a hilarious ground game but if it is effective why not, well we can never know his game-changing plan against Alex Pereira, if he will not engage in punching the guy, we all know how skilled Pereira can be, and he is a ghost in Israel Adesanya's past that I think he needs to vanish, and in this fight, he will surely prove all of his haters that they are wrong, in his previous fights he is on full offense against Alex Pereira that he was caught off guard, but this time he will surely play safe again, even if he doesn't add up ground game to his fighting style, but I sure like a fight just like the Francis Ngannou VS Ciryl Gane fight where Ngannou surprises us with a takedown,

I very much agree, however, if Paddy the baddy will win vs. Jared Gordon what will this imply for Paddy Pimblet? Does this imply that he is really better than an average UFC fighter? I am a big fan of him because he is annoying everyone hhehehe.

It also appears that everyone wants to witness the fight for Izzy vs. Alex Pereira already. Will we witness something similar to Anderson Silva when he was sleeping in the octagon after doing the matrix moves against Chris Weidman?

Here are my picks for the UFC Fight Night: Rodriguez vs. Lemos

Marina Rodriguez VS Amanda Lemos

The stake odds for this fight are 1.43 for Rodriguez and 2.85 for Lemos, both surely got a fine stand-up but for me, Marina Rodriguez has better boxing than Lemos, but in the takedown department she better be careful with Lemos, but Lemos doesn't have that much of a grappling, but for Me, Rodriguez has some takedown defense, for me, I would pick Marina Rodriguez, but women's fight is surely hard to predict sometimes but we will never know,

Neil Magny VS Daniel Rodriguez

The stake odds for this fight are 1.81 for Magny and 2.01 for Rodriguez, Li Jingliang should be the one facing Niel Magny and not Daniel Rodriguez, but surely a decision has happened and there are judges that are not looking and doing their job properly, but man Niel Magny has all the advantage, from Reach, experience, and the jabs will surely keep coming at Daniel Rodriguez, for sure, so my pick is definitely Neil Magny,

Jinh Yu Frey VS Polyana Viana

The stake odds for this fight are 2.17 for Frey, and 1.70 for Polyana, both are hot fighting kittens and I will surely go with the most experienced one, and like I have said it is really hard to predict a woman's fight, but for me, I will be biased with Polyana Viana, I think she got the looks, ops, the experience and flexibility in winning this fight so my pick is Polyana Viana,

I know different UFC event is starting soon, but I am really more excited to watch UFC 281 and Adesanya vs Pereira that is starting next week on November 12.
UFC just released new short promotional video called Fight For Your Life, and this is the place we are going to see if Adesanya is really that good, or he has weakness.
Maybe Alex Pereira is kryptonite for Adesanya, and first time I am willing to be against Adesanya.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xa0coT60KD4

Early ddds are great on Pereira to win, and I don't expect this fight will go full five rounds.

I'm back, but haven't had chance to look at the whole card yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to get some predictions up before the start of the event. I'm not sure I'm fresh enough to last the night to watch it though, so probably won't be betting on the event. If I do it'll be only a few, and probably the early fights.

I see Charles lost. I'm actually gutted about that, haven't actually watched the fight, but did he put up a fight at least?

^  Heeey welcome back!

True true but what can we do and how can we blame them.  Those people really went out of their way to go to the event, pay their hard earned money and go him in disappointment.  What I think Adesanya should do himself is tone down with all the talk during the build up going to the event.  The last one was really disappointing imho.  He was talking about how he wanted to express himself inside the cage and how he wants to show the world what he can do vs Cannonier.  Come fight day it was...  -_-

Early ddds are great on Pereira to win, and I don't expect this fight will go full five rounds.

Who's not excited about that fight, I really think many wants to skip this UFC Fight Night and come straight to the UFC 281 already, my take here this is MMA and anything can surely happen Israel Adesanya has been dominant with all of his work, even though it is not with knockout he got the perfection of getting it done in his way the safest way possible, while Alex Pereira no doubt has the power to knock out Adesanya, but I am for Israel Adesanya in this fight, while I know many that have shifted to Alex Pereira,

Welcome back! master Welsh, hehe well, it was really a devastating night for Charles Oliveira the fight went so smoothly for Islam Makhachev, well before the fight Oliveira said in the press conference that he will knockout Makhachev in the 1st round, so he went forward straight to Makhachev like a psycho and thrown all of his fight IQ in the garbage, Were Makhachev respected Oliveira and keep his calm and focus towards the fight, while many don't want to engage Oliveira on the ground Islam Makhachev is different he likes Oliveira being in the ground and that choke was pretty much tight for Oliveira so he tap out and lost the fight,
