I was watching this match live on Fancode and for a moment I thought that it was all over when Shariz Ahmed was run out. At that point Netherlands were at 220/7 and needed another 30 runs from 3.1 overs to win. But then Paul van Meekeren scored 21 runs from 9 balls and guided them to victory. This win is very important for Netherlands. Once again, the question is being put up in front of the ICC about the logic in providing Zimbabwe with annual funding of $12 million per year. Netherlands receives around 2% of that amount from the ICC.

I think it's because Zimbabwe is old cricket nation and there is more cricket is Zimbabwe then Netherlands or other associate nation. Zimbabwe was very decent ODI side a decade back but things turn around and they lost there test status. Zimbabwe is trying to revive and ICC must help them in regaining there lost form.
Netherlands team unlike UAE and Oman has more native players then expats or Asia born. Netherlands was in 1996 world cup, they are not new to cricket but wasn't able to make any impact so far.

The way Zimbabwe started their innings I thought Zimbabwe could score 200 runs. But they batted well enough. 249 runs were collected by the players of Zimbabwe. Even then they did not win. Zimbabwe would have won this match if the bowlers of Zimbabwe bowled in a controlled manner. Teja Nidamanuru batted brilliantly today. He scored 110 runs off just 96 balls. And because of his extraordinary innings, the Netherlands team was able to win.

Zimbabwe played well towards the end otherwise such a big score would not have been possible in their favor. But whatever their collection was, if they could have kept the Dutch batsmen under pressure from the start, it would have been difficult for them to make this run. Although they were taken 7 wickets. But I think Zimbabwe will definitely do well in the next matches. Because the top players could not perform well in today's match.

The Netherlands were simply able to win the game because of the last two partnerships that they formed. Otherwise, the Netherlands would have been doomed. As far as the century from Teja is concerned, it was a great one. And of course, the innings from Van Meekran were the nail in the coffin for Zimbabwe. I think after Zimbabwe got six wickets, they actually took it easy. As a result, they certainly underestimated their opponent. This is the reason why they lost this match.

It is true that, no matter how weak the opposing team is, it is kind of foolish to look down and underestimate them. It is absolutely impossible for anyone to underestimate anyone in the moment of competition on the field of play. Because every party expects to give something good. But I think Zimbabwe lost the match because of bowling weakness. Not a single member of the Zimbabwean team bowled well. The schedule for 2023 ODI World Cup is out finally. We still don't know who are the last 3 teams participating in this event. As per the rankings in ICC Cricket World Cup Super League, 7 of the teams have qualified: England, New Zealand, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Australia and Afghanistan. The last two spots will be decided on the basis of performance in the 2023 Cricket World Cup Qualifier.     

The tournament will start by 5th October 2023, and will go on until 19th November. A total of 48 matches will be played across 46 days. For this event, the normal semi-final format will be used (1st placed team vs 4th, and 2nd vs 3rd), rather than the eliminator/qualifier format that is popular across most of the franchise leagues. The venues are yet to be finalized and this is going to be challenging given the slight overlap with the monsoon season. BTW, there is still no clarity on the tax issue. ICC has been asked to pay $116.47 million in taxes by the Indian government.

Australia has been all out for 269/10 in just 49 overs. It's hard to believe that they went from 138/5 to 200/7 and then managed to reach a total of 269 runs. The tailenders really stepped up and contributed over 70 runs, which is quite impressive.

Hardik Pandya and Yadav were the shining stars for India bowling line-up today, taking three wickets each and restricted the Australian batters. For the Indian batters it shouldn't be too difficult  to chase down. It's definitely an interesting series and match decider. I can't wait to see who will step up and take the victory.

269 for the Indian side is a huge score considering most of their top notched batter are struggling against the Australian bowlers. India was once a team wherein batters were known to win matches but after watching a few matches with Australia playing in India I think that myth has been broken. At the start of the match it looked like 300+ runs. Once the wickets started to fall, the scoring got disturbed and there were consecutive fall of wickets at regular interval. Hardik Pandya and Kuldeep Yadav had a good bowling contribution. Every Australian player contributed to the score, but there is no big score coming out of any player. If any of the player have scored century target score might've gone 300+ runs.

India started the endings and had a good opening partnership. Soon after the wickets of Rohit Sharma the second wicket(Shubman Gill) fell. Right now India is in good position, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul on the crease have made good partnership. This partnership need to continue till 200+ runs for an easy winning.

As usual the openers are gone too early. Considering the pitch I was expecting them to get thier individual 50s. To an extent it was my fault expecting from the early batters. Looks like Kholi is again in his agressive mode. He is currently striking at 88+, which he was used to before 2019. I reckon he is basically trying to get that back. The condition are okay for a class batter like him and if he succeeds he will score a century today.
