Depressing BKL is taking care of the Indian collapse and taking them to the finishing line, to be fair in the ODI format he does have an excellent record when he bats in the middle order with his keeping gloves on. He's a good addon in the ODI setup as long as he's keeping and batting in the middle order.

This Wankede stadium has one of the finest deck for limited overs cricket as it produces high scoring decks for T20Is and competitive wickets for ODIs.

Mohammad Shami and Mohammad Siraj bowled brilliantly today. These two bowlers have taken 6 important wickets. Due to their excellent bowling, the Australian team managed to score only 188 runs. A collection of 188 runs on this pitch can be considered as a low score. Should have collected at least more than 240 to fight. However, the Australian bowlers started well. India lost 4 wickets for just 39 runs. But with the help of Kl Rahu and Jadeja's responsible batting, India easily won this match. Every batsman in India is very talented. And so the team is not dependent on the performance of any particular batsman.

They will try to play each ODI match with more importance especially with the Australian team because Australia is the only big opponent for them in that tournament.However, India won today's match but their top order was broken. The match was secured from the middle order. Top order lost 3 wickets bu LBW. Anyway, there are two more matches left in the 3-match series, let's see who can dominate the series.

Just one innings of 75 runs, and suddenly everyone is singing praises for him? Today's innings doesn't take away the fact that his batting average was a paltry 27.88 in 2022. He was given so many opportunities and finally he managed to score a good knock. Now he is safe for the next 20 matches I guess. I don't understand the logic behind Indian team selection. Some of the players are having guaranteed slots, irrespective of how they perform. KL Rahul happens to be one of those lucky guys. And I feel bad about all those youngsters who are being ignored.

Good to see Rahul playing well again, but he needs to play more consistently in order to cement his place in the ODI and T-20 squads. Playing as a middle order player seems to suit him more than playing as a top order player.

On the other hand, the Australian squad had so many popular batsmen, but they played like crap thanks to Siraj, Shami and Jadeja screwing their happiness. Starc needed someone like Hazlewood to support him properly.

Am expecting India to lose this ODI series despite this win.

So his natural slot in ODI is middle order as he can fill the WK spot, also with his current form he's not suitable for opening.

Overall record is not bad (although I would not call it as "exceptional"). But his recent form has been very poor. And Indian selectors have this habit of retaining senior players even if they are out of form for 2-3 years on the trot. Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya are perfect examples. But in India, there is an overflow of talent and some of the most promising youngsters are suffering because of that. Sarfaraz Khan is yet to get a test cap, despite performing really well in domestic cricket for many years now. Abhimanyu Easwaran is another one of those unlucky guys.

I agree with you, if the Australian cricket team could have completed the 50 over game. Then Australia cricket team would have reached 260 to 280 score and win the match against India. But unfortunately Australia team batsmen could not survive in front of Indian bowlers. Except Australia team batsman Mitchell Marsh no one could play well especially last order batting of Australia team was very bad. Indian cricket team performed well in batting and bowling

India played really well in this match. I expected a far better performance from Australia. Anyway, India was also in a bad spot at a certain moment. India got saved by KL Rahul and Jadeja. Otherwise, the Indian team was going to suffer a lot.

The bowling performance of India was absolutely unbelievable in this match.
Actually, the track was heavily in favor of the bowlers. The way India has started this series, I believe they should be able to win. Now let's see how Australia is going to approach the next match.

I agree with you, if the Australian cricket team could have completed the 50 over game. Then Australia cricket team would have reached 260 to 280 score and win the match against India. I was able to see the score 130 during the 20^th over, and after some time the Australia innings have got over. We can't say the pitch have favoured the bowlers. It is the bad performance from the Australia batters. They should've performed better and scored atleast 250+ runs. Top team performing in such a way is completely unexpected. On the other side Indian batting too isn't upto the mark, if one among the the Jadeja - Rahul pair have fallen the match could've moved into the hands of Australia. The score was 83/5 and ended the match without losing another wicket. Hope Australia will make a comeback win in the second ODI.

India did not miss the target of 188 runs given by Australia. India went into bat with a target of 189 runs in 39.5 overs and achieved their target by 191 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. After a great start against India, Australia lost their way with the bat and were quickly all out. After a good start with the ball, Australia could not hold on. In the end, Australia lost to India by 5 wickets. India beat Australia in the first innings of the match to advance the series win. Hope the Indian cricket team will do well in the second match as well. I congratulate the Indian cricket team for winning today's match.

Bangladesh vs Ireland 

The first ODI match of Bangladesh vs Ireland ODI series is going to start today. Bangladesh plays very well at home. Ireland team will not play very well against Bangladesh. Because Bangladesh performs well in ODI matches. I think Bangladesh will whitewash Ireland.In the ranking, Bangladesh is at number 7, Ireland at number 11. Today's match will be very easy for Bangladesh, Bangladesh will win easily. Today the match will be in Sylhet. The match will start at 2 pm.

For top order yeah it's not exceptional but more than enough performances in the middle order and it justifies his selection in the team with WK gloves on, other than this slot I support his exclusion but that's not the case here.

Also, we shouldn't mix the format and batting order, you can't compare young top order batters (Abhimanyu etc) with the middle order batter. A fair comparison would be WK KL Rahul vs the rest of the WK batsmen, IMHO he ticks the box here.

On the other hand, Bangaldesh spinners are in terrific form after their sweep of England. On top of that, their pacers (especially Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman can be quite threatening).

After drawing the first Test match against Australia, Team India entered the field in the first ODI match yesterday. India defeated Australia by 5 wickets in the first ODI match.  Australia managed to score only 188 runs after losing all wickets in 35.4 overs when they batted first. 188 runs can never be a fighting score against a team like India in an ODI match. After batting with a target of 189 runs, India reached their target in just 39.5 overs. Lokesh Rahul scored 75(91) for India. And Ravindra Jadeja was selected as Man of the Match. Ireland are mainly used to batting on pacer wickets but if they want to do well in the series with Bangladesh, they must deal well with the spinners. Moreover, the world's best all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, Mehdi Hasan Miraj and the spinners of the two are performing well as usual, on the other hand, Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman bowled very controlled balls in the T20 series against England and were able to whitewash them in the T20 series. Time will tell how good Bangladesh's performance will be with Ireland as the weak side for now. Today's ODI match will prove that, but both the teams are expected to give good performances to their cricket loving fans.

It was an easy win for the Indian cricket team. Even though they lost some quick wickets early on but KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja batted sensibly and make sure Indian team crosses the line. Since the target was only 189 runs, they just need a responsibility batting by two or more batsmen and the win was easy.

The next match of the series will be played tomorrow at Visakhapatnam. Let's see if Indian team can win the series on the Sunday
