After watching a couple of the games, I thought that the pitch somewhat inconsistent and very hard to score on. That may be the reason for a low scoring match. Australia's bowlers performed well, and their performance smashed WI's batting line-up. It is important for WI batsmen to be patient when pitches are not perfect, as they blame over pitch. Additionally, WI should focus on longer formats, they completely flip when the format is shifted from T20 to ODI. That's strange, nah!

Australian spinners played a very large role yesterday. Australia went to the match with just two pace bowlers (Mitchell Starc and Josh Hazlewood), and that tells a lot about the condition of the pitch. And most of the West Indian top order was cleaned up by Ashton Agar, Ashton Turner and Adam Zampa, before Starc and Hazlewood returned to clean up the tail. For the West Indian batsmen, they once again proved that they are suitable only for the T20 format and not for the ODI or test formats.

In my writing time Australia collect( continue) 52 runs losing two wickets after 12 overs. For seeing Cricbuzz reports summarize , Australia have big possibility to win this match. Because west indies through a small target.

At the end, Australia won the match, and won very easily. A 153-run target is a very easy target for a team like Australia in the ODI format. If West Indies could have scored more than 200 runs, they might have been able to put up a good fight to win the match. Ashton Agar bowled well, he was able to pick up the wickets of important batsmen. West Indies opener Evin Lewis batted very responsibly.

Apart from Evin Lewis, no other West Indies batsman has batted well. The players had no consistency. The West Indies could have scored more than 200 runs if a player could have formed a beautiful partnership with Lewis. West Indies players are more suitable for T20 format. They will play fewer balls and collect runs very quickly. They have less patience to collect runs from the crease for a long time.

The board (WICB) needs to be blamed for some of the issues related to the downfall, but it is not right to say that they are the reason for this sorry state of affairs. West Indies do have a domestic 4-day tournament, but most of the national team members rarely participate in these matches. During the days of Brian Lara and Chanderpaul, even the top players used to take part in domestic matches. But now the players are so busy with the T20 leagues, that they hardly get any time to participate in such matches.

I agree with you on this point. If the West Indies board takes the right steps, their players will become more experienced. And if they host a league like the Ranji Trophy, the players will have plenty of opportunities to play Test matches and build themselves up to be more experienced. There is no other option without hard work to be experienced in the test format. As well as being talented, you also need to work hard.

I am really getting tired of these COVID-related disruptions. This has been the case for the last one and half years and doesn't looks as if it is going to end anytime soon.

For now, the other players have all tested negative. But the problem is that they need to remain in isolation for at least one week, because the incubation period for COVID is quite lengthy. If the players are infected and they are in the incubation period, then they may return false negative results. Now I don't know whether the Indian team has enough healthy players to play the next game. It is hugely frustrating for the cricket fans. We waited for so long to watch some live action, and now we are getting this.

@Sithara007 as I had shared in the other thread team India used their reserve bowlers to continue this series, and I feel for all future tournaments this is the blueprint they’ll play secondary player’s but from now on the tournaments will continue. Also there’s nothing much to do, because this is how covid works and now I’m used to it but I’m hoping future series will have zero cases.

The so called experts are expecting a third wave which will be much serious than the situation we have seen till now and i am wondering how these players who are in a so called secure bubble is getting infected left and right, i am not living in a bubble for the past two weeks and i am going out and till now i am doing good even though i am careful while i am interacting with people.

How you say the players aren't in control. The virus spreading happens mostly through touch and through air. Each and every player is vaccinated, there is no cent percent effect on vaccine. There are people and players with asymptomatic, so that even if the virus is there no symptoms can be found. Now there is nothing to point out someone is wrong and right.

Everyone inside the bio-bubble was tested for COVID after Krunal turned out to be infected with the virus. And none of them were found to be carrying the virus. So it makes no sense to claim that the virus spread through air and infected only Krunal. Two other Indian players got infected, but these two were close contacts of Krunal. Everyone knows what happened, and it is another topic that the BCCI will not take any action against him.
