Pakistan has already invited and played safely against RSA, SL, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe. It was time for other team to visit Pakistan but they refused. AFAIK, security was not the prime reason rather they were political decision. Either way its bad for PCB and bad for the game.
I am also saying the same thing but they should so some action like inviting more teams to their country or if ICC, don't allow this, then conduct more domestic tournaments and invite international players. I remember they started KPL this year along with PSL. Only claiming that due to political reason no teams want to come here, why not find ways to improve the situation. Right now there is National T20 Cup going on in Pakistan domestic and all major players from national side are participating in that tournament. You are right that PCB should not sit back and just keep on cursing the political reasons. Probably because of PCB efforts and criticism on ECB, they promised to tour in 2022 with tests and ODIs. Finally some good news for PCB and fans. ECB chairman promises to 'do everything we can' to travel to Pakistan on schedule in 2022.

This doesn't mean anything. ECB still requires approval from the UK government to tour Pakistan. And with the current security situation, I would say that the probability of that is less than 1%. Just coming up with a statement, ensuring "we will do all that we could" doesn't need any approval or effort. But the problem is that such a statement doesn't guarantee that the England team would tour Pakistan in 2022. The PCB should arrange the matches in neutral venues such as the UAE or Oman, if they don't want any last minute cancellations.

ECB postponing tour, Australian looking for excuse just to cancel their tour and PCB CEO Wasim Khan also stepped down couple of days back. Things are not looking good for the PCB. This Wasim Khan was really hard working guy, hope his replacement able to fill his shoes.

After that rejection from ECB and NZL at the last possible moment, the future of cricket in Pakistan was in huge doubt. We all know what happened to Sri Lankan Team in the past and no one wants that to be repeated right? But it was a very nice gesture from ECB saying that they will tour in 2022 with ODI and Tests. But also, the tour highly depends on if the England Govt. will permit them to do so. Only time will tell what decision they will take.

Tour cancellation ECB's decision, not government's, says British HC to Pakistan "The British High Commission supported the tour, did not advise against in on security grounds," Christian Turner tweets On recent tour cancellation England govt said its decision of ECB which is an independent entity. Lets see what decision ECB takes this time. There are very less chances of teams like NZL, England and Australia visiting Pakistan in near future. Though we have seen successful tour of RSA, Srilanka and Zimbabwe. Role of ICC is very important in resolving such matters but unfortunately its no where seen.

ICC is the governing body but I do not think they have jurisdiction in such a matter. There have been lots of instances in the past when big boards have cancelled tours and nothing happened to them. Pakistani board has suffered a substantial amount of revenue but more importantly, its reputation has now been tarnished because of these cancellations.

The Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and the involvement of Pakistani forces in that changed the ground situation. Rather than any real change in the security status, this may be the factor that might have resulted in the tour cancellation. The ICC can't do much. They can't even impose a financial penalty, if the teams come up with some proof to show that Pakistan is not safe for them. Look at India. The last time they toured Pakistan was two decades ago. Still, the ICC has supported the stance by BCCI.

Furthermore you’re right if New Zealand board says their government told them of a threat what were they supposed to do, and even ICC will back them but what’s interesting is how will Pakistan emerge from this ruling.

No one wants to risk their lives. I support the decision of the New Zealand Board. Because several players have received death threats. In a country like Pakistan, when players receive death threats, the players become emotionally scared and weak. That's normal. In such a situation they could not perform well in Pakistan. And the New Zealand board didn't want to take any risks, so they canceled the series and returned home.

Oh.. did the players received death threats? I was unaware of this development. If that is the case then NZC did the right thing in calling off the tour. I don't want to side with the PCB here. How can anyone visit Pakistan, when Taliban is butchering hundreds everyday, just across the border? Under these circumstances, the only viable alternative is to hold matches in UAE. And I don't understand the hesitation from the part of PCB in moving matches there. Perhaps they are afraid of losing the revenues?

There were no death threats and nothing anything serious related to this all just all hype on social media and some internal politics of few countries because now recently ECB chief already apologies even it's all now just formality but good thing Pakistan announces now they will never play on neutral venue, Right now talk of town is Afghanistan as few countries feeling serious humiliation with their defeat and using their own tactics but this all will end soon. Pakistan is good for cricket because few cricket boards already announces they are ready for tour of Pakistan, but now authorities will announce all details after Twenty/20 world cup.

Its important for future of Afghanistan cricket that ICC should continue support of Afghanistan. Afghan cricket team has made massive progress in last decade and it will be back to zero if ICC disconnect its support due to recent government change. No one wants to risk their lives. I support the decision of the New Zealand Board. Because several players have received death threats. In a country like Pakistan, when players receive death threats, the players become emotionally scared and weak.
Absolutely wrong, there isn't anything like that happened at first place. New Zealan officials says they called off tour because there government said so. Details are never shared till date. So to cut it short. PCB and other small boards have to increase there revenue if they want ICC to listen to them otherwise things will continue to move like that.

How do you think the smaller board will be able to increase their revenue? Most of them are already running T20 leagues similar to the IPL still they do not have money. Small boards need to restructure themselve and in force strict anti corruption law. They also need to work on their selection criteria. Most players are in some way or the other related to board members or ex cricketer. They need find good talent and start winning some good ICC tournament then only ICC will think about them.

Well everything is fair if you have money. Nobody has any objection playing IPL in India when covid19 was at its peak there. Rather then restructuring, small boards must get united (rather then becoming alliance of big three) and demand ICC for there fair share. Thats the only way to break big 3 monopoly. There is no league that is even close to IPL these days, IPL is multi billion dollar business my friend.

Right now we have some better peoples in PCB hopefully they will do some more good job as they have no political association just cricketers and love to work for Pakistan which is very important. As I already mention now it's all about dirty politics and money nothing else but still we have to face few things because geopolitically we are living in one of world's most danger zones which is fact, and we can't change this all.

Considering PCB recent reaction, they are unlikely to change their stance about playing on neutral ground. Yes, So if you ask us that since the big three nations aren't willing to come and play in Pakistan, should we play with them on a neutral ground, the answer from the whole nation is Absolutely NotAnd that is a big strong message to the ECB, ,CA , BCCI and ICC.

PCB's this policy is not good for themselves because big countries already playing and enjoying their cricket, and they have some good financial help through TV rights and contracts through big brands. And PCB which is already in some crises are going to face some more problems because playing against weak sides are not going to help them in any way. Just big teams can bring some better financial packages and audience in ground, they must think about this all if they want to part of ICC and cricket community.

Sometimes the dignity is more important than the money or the game. The way NewZealand team left the country was an insult in itself and no respectful country can allow this. PCB can solve the finical problems in many others way but will not play them in the Neutral venue. And yeah let the big three cowards enjoy by playing among themselves and avoid the competition.

~ Sometimes the dignity is more important than the money or the game. The way NewZealand team left the country was an insult in itself and no respectful country can allow this. PCB can solve the finical problems in many others way but will not play them in the Neutral venue. Lets see how long PCB will continue with their demands, New Zealand team left the country was an insult for them, what happened to the players that were shot and i never heard about any compensation by the PCB or the ICC because i was not following cricket during that period. If money was not a problem for PCB then what is the problem in playing in neutral grounds if other countries are not trusting the security. And yeah let the big three cowards enjoy by playing among themselves and avoid the competition.
Pakistan is not even competitive in Test and ODI, in T20 they can be competitive. I would like to see a series between Bangladesh and Pakistan and that would be a competitive match, but if they play against Australia, New Zealand and England there is no competition .
