County cricket also struggling, pitches there are ridiculously favors the fast bowlers that's why you see 4 days match gets done and dusted in just 2 days regularly.

If they could make the same pitches for international cricket that would be great, the game now a days favors the batsman and they need to be bowler friendly as well just to test the players and which county matches are you talking about that ends in a couple of days. I am not a big fan of watching all the matches but i am curious to know which matches are bowler friendly as i would like to see those matches.

English County cricket

Pitch was way too much seam friendly that 2-3 match got over under 2 days at the exactly same time. These pitches attracted some attention and fair amount of backlace when England's team got bowled out in 1 session at lord's against the Indian team and failed to bat whole day during the 4th Oval Test.

Argument was England batters don't have mindset to bat longer because of such system and obviously can't face spin as they hardly face any spinner in County, also English seamers-batters are not equipped for flat pitches. One commentator said that we can't play spin in India, we can't play on flat pitch and their seamers bullying us at our own backyard.

The fact is that small boards have always said yes no matter what was the condition because they need revenue. Big boards are already generating good revenue therefore they show their tantrums. Small boards have tried their level best to increase revenue but till now they have been struggling, until then the situation will remain the same.

Again.. there is no point in blaming the cricket boards, when the decision is taken by the government. In this case, the New Zealand government asked the NZC to pull out of Pakistan and they complied with that. If the Bangladesh government ask the BCB to do the same in future, then I am afraid that the BCB will be forced to do so. On paper, the cricket boards are independent entities. But in security related matters, they need to follow the government directives. As far as I know, this is a political issue and need to be resolved between the governments. Let's leave the cricket boards for now.

^^ I have to disagree with you mate. You have to understand how humiliating this is for the Pakistan Board. I'm not saying that you have to play with your life at risk, what I'm saying is, you should have done enough research about your tour before playing that right? And teams are already frightened to play in Pakistan and this gesture from the NZL Board may have put the future of cricket playing in Pakistan in doubt.

So we will have the 4-day competition after a gap of three years? If I was not wrong, the Ranji trophy was last played in 2019. Now they are not taking the COVID situation that seriously, because almost everyone is either fully or partially vaccinated and even in case someone is infected the chances are that it will not result in hospitalization. Given the lax attitude towards quarantine and other preventive measures, I am not sure whether bio-bubbles are practical for thousands of players. Who is going to make sure that there is no breach?

Yeah, 2020-21 season got cancelled due to covid.

Vaccination drive is going okay, cases are going down and they can't afford to cancel another season so can understand their POV. Well they are partnering with the hospitals and hotels for a reason but I agree that monitoring the large pool of players could be daunting task, let's see. Would be great if they can avoid Maharashtra, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Andhra venues, although i know its not going to happen specially with Maharashtra case.

Was watching the India Women match and they need just 8 runs in the last two overs, they had a good start but they lost wickets in the middle and i really wanted to see them win the match in Australia. I hope they can control their nerves and take the team to victory as Sneh Rana and the experience of Jhulan Goswami is more than enough to rotate the strike and take the team to a victory.

Despite a lot of requests for the WIPL, the BCCI has refused to come up with a franchise league for the women cricketers. They are now asking the national women's players to take part in WBBL and the Women's Hundred. How shameful is this? They are effectively saying that they don't have any money for the women's players and therefore they can play in tournaments organized by the CA and ECB. LOL.. not enough local talent? That sounds even more BS for me. WBBL is having 8 teams. The women's domestic competition in India is having a total of 38 teams. It may not be possible to have 8 franchises, but why can't they start with just 4 teams? I believe there is enough talent available in India to form at least 4 teams. And I would suggest one franchise each from Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. When Indian players are participating in the WBBL and women's Hundred, what is the point in saying that there is not enough talent?

Maybe this is a good start to take women's cricket in the right direction. WIPL is a good start in my opinion. Though 4 teams are not, but it's better than nothing right? They can eventually increase the number of teams and more players will get a chance to play and more better players will be spotted to be played for the national team. And maybe followed by this, more countries will hold women's league cricket overall benefitting women players around the world.

Money is real matter, but my feeling is BCCI must take some step even with just four teams because this will bring some good interest and surely quality will also improve because now they have all things in their own hands. If BCCI dare this then many local boards will also try to have to arrange small leagues for encouraging women which will surely help them in economical as well after very successful arrangements from CA and ECB they can take chance even just for experimental.

BCCI is one of the richest boards in cricket and they can still pay more to the domestic players. They also need to start the WIPL to uplift these women players too. They should give it a try and I am sure cricket fans will get involved WIPL too. Only after the success of WIPL you can expect these woman players to earn decently.

The male players earn ₹35,000 per match day participating in Indian domestic cricket, and for the women's cricketers the salary is much lower than that. And given the less number of matches compared to the men's players, the total earnings are not enough to concentrate fully in the sport. Very few of the women's player are full-time cricketers. Most of them have their regular job, and take leave from work when they need to play. In Australia and England that is not the case. The players are all professionals and their salaries are high.
