India will definitely try there best to win this series but its SA that is showing exceptional performance in this series. Indians were favorite for this series but the Kohli/BCCI tussle is badly hurting Indian cricket team performance. India don't have good bilateral series record at SA, it was expected India will
change that record this time.

I don't know whether the ongoing dispute between Kohli and BCCI has anything to do with the poor performance of the Indian team. During the last match, it was the bowlers who failed to perform. Captaincy tactics from KL Rahul was not up to the mark, as he refused to provide any opportunity to Venkatesh Iyer to test his medium pace. Shardul Thakur was going at a rate of more than 7 runs per over, and at this point I thought that Venkatesh would have done a better job. Just confirms my view that Shreyas Iyer is a much better captain, when compared to Rahul.

I do not think the ongoing dispute is the reason for India's loss. South Africa really played well in the first ODI. They had lost very quick 3 wickets but an amazing knock by Rassie van der Dussen was the primary reason for India's loss. Another reason is that India's lower middle order also collapsed very quickly. If Thakur hadn't contributed his 50 then India would have lost the match by a big margin.

The dispute is now connected with the loss, and the true reason is the lack of performance from the middle order. KL Rahul didn't made it, but Dhawan and Kohli managed to keep the scores. Once after that Rishabh, Shreyas, Venkatesh should've taken responsibility and performed. This middle order batting power disturbed the scoring and the same served to be the reason for losing the first ODI.

I wouldn't choose Pant either as captain for similar reasons. I would choose Ashwin as test captain, Bumrah/S Iyer as ODI captain and Rohit/Dhawan/Bumrah as T-20 captain.

Yes KL Rahul's captaincy for Punjab Kings for really poor. His decisions were questionable again and again like not playing bishnoi in a lot of matches and that is the reason Punjab is not able to qualify even for the playoffs. His batting stats are good but as a captain I dont like him.
But Rohit sharma will do well as a captain that is what is feel as he has done for mumbai indians.

Cant say about whitewash but India surely are at the verge of losing the odi series after test series loss. If India cant win series at SA with current SA team I guess they can never win series in the future. SA was very much down and out but there players are back in form in this series. See the consistency in batting line up of SA in today's game. They all have scored over 30 runs.

Since the most experienced batsmen in the Indian team are now KL Rahul, Shikhar Dhawan and Virat Kohli. Since they are the most experienced and senior in the team. It is normal for everyone to expect more from them. But they did not live up to expectations. KL Rahul and Dhawan played well but wasted a lot of balls. Kohli was out for zero. The bowlers' performance was worse. Bowlers may not be accustomed to bowling on such a pitch. I think South Africa is taking some home advantage. I would not be surprised if India will win the last match but it will be of no use. India lost the test and the ODI series against the team which is not one of the best teams in recent times. Both the batsmen and bowlers were not able to show any strength against SA. I think India needs to forget about this series and think on how they can improve and avoid the current mistakes.
