I watched some of the matches live on FanCode and I need to say that the Dutch batting was extremely disappointing. The batsmen looked completely clueless (with the exception of Ackerman and Edwards). This time some of the senior batsmen were not available and the KNCB decided to give opportunity for younger players like Bas de Leede, Boris Gorlee and Saqib Zulfiqar. Unfortunately none of them became successful. Their bowlers did well, but they failed in the batting department.  And the captain (Pieter Seelaar) was a complete waste.

So we can say that Netherland is not getting the test status very soon. Netherlands cricket team is very old as compared to Afghanistan and also they have good sporting facilities but still there level of game is not improving. It may be because not many are interested in cricket in Netherlands.

Maybe if Netherlands have bat first, they might've touched 200 runs. Anyhow the team is slowly making its move. Compared to the strength of Afghanistan, Netherlands need to improve lot.

So are you suggesting that if the Netherlands had batted first, the results would have been different? I don't think that would be the case. Afghanistan team had more experience than the Netherlands team.

Coming to the U19 world cup, the interesting Quarterfinals stage has started and today England is playing against South Africa. Although most of the matches were one-sided, I hope the knock out stages will produce more close matches.

Players like Rahul, Pant etc aren't great captains based on historical results which is why they should stick to their batsman roles in my opinion.

On Rahul i agree cause he lead his franchise 2 times and was average skipper but as far as i remember Pant did good job in his last gig as DC's skipper.

Teams like PNG are not up to the mark of U19 WC but still its good that more countries are joining in and gain some experience.

Yes these tournaments gives opportunity to associate nations to play with some top class teams in the world which gives them very good experience in international cricket even if they loose. Because their normal bilateral series never happens with top teams. They only play with another associate nations but this tournaments give them chance to play with the best in the game.

I was referring to his stint as the DC captain. He did a decent job, but I felt that he could have done a lot better. Iyer felt like a better captain in comparison. Rahul screwed up on so many occasions as the Punjab captain.

I have no idea why Lucknow spent 17 freaking crores to make him the captain again. This made him the joint highest paid player in IPL history(Kohli by RCB in 2018).

I think that they are trying to search for the players who are better as Captain and making them prepared for pressure situations from the start. so that they will not get tilted and will be able to handle the pressure match better than before.

As India needs desperately searching for the best captain right now, I think that they are making a situation where they don't have to do that again in the future, and that is why they are giving these youngsters more and more chances to prove themselves.

That's true and only by playing against the best these teams can learn from their mistakes, right?
If they don't play against these big names then they will never be able to you actually pick out the mistakes that they are making in the match.

Yes, they might lose and chances are they will. But they can learn from their mistakes and solve them. We also see a lot of great players give advice to a lot of younger players in the opponent and point out the mistakes that they make in the game. This type of sportsmanship is really good to see and really helpful for cricket in long run.

Yeah, i also think that Lucknow overpaid for the Rahul, may be he's charging for being excellent batter. His T-20 numbers are juicy or may be they really think that he could become strong leader in future. Everything is possible.

Right now we have one of most excited ODI in CWC U19 between Afghanistan vs Sri Lanka in this match Sri Lanka was hot favourite for win but right now situation is very interesting as Afghanistan bowled out for just 134 and Sri Lanka while chasing this very small total were 43/7 I was feeling very easy win for Afghanistan but suddenly Captain Dunith Wellalage and Raveen de Silva done historic job for their country and have stand of 69 runs as many were feeling now Sri Lanka is going to win we have another twist and Afghanistan take 2 wickets now Sri Lanka need only 19 runs on 45 balls and last pair is on crease what a classic match between the giants from Asia.

Toss factor is working very important in Asia and Sub-continent because here we have some changes in weather rapidly and due factor is also having big impact on games but in SENA countries it's never have any serious factor like here as we all know what happen in the UAE every time team is winning toss very happy try to chase.

About new countries coming in this game it's very good I like countries those are coming with their own talent and have players from their origin which is very significant here we watch many Gulf countries are still coming with players from other countries which is never been good for this game and their own sack, but ICC is doing this all blindly which is also very bad management from them.

In all probability, the Netherlands will end up like Kenya and completely vanish from the cricketing world. They have a cricketing history of more than 200 years and some of the clubs there are older than the MCC (Marylebone Cricket Club) itself. But for the last two decades, cricket has been a dying sport in that country. Teams like Oman and UAE are climbing up the ladder, thanks to playing XIs entirely comprised of first-class cricketers from India and Pakistan. I missed majority of the competition but what i noticed after watching the tables is that the team batting first are winning the matches, i am yet to watch the series live to understand the pitch situation. West Indies under 19 lost against UAE under 19 and Uganda Under 19 who only scored 123 runs and yet Papua New Guinea under 19 was not able to reach anywhere near that score.

This is no surprise, because we can't predict the game. More unpredicted results have come. Sri Lanka too is undefeated in the group matches, but it has lost to Afghanistan by 4 runs in yesterday's match. In this tournament it is able to see the better performance of every country. Not only the top order teams, but the bottom teams too doing good giving unexpected results. In tomorrow's match India is playing Bangladesh. We don't know what's going to be the result, because India stands undefeated on the group matches.
