~ Everyone inside the bio-bubble was tested for COVID after Krunal turned out to be infected with the virus. And none of them were found to be carrying the virus. So it makes no sense to claim that the virus spread through air and infected only Krunal. Two other Indian players got infected, but these two were close contacts of Krunal. Everyone knows what happened, and it is another topic that the BCCI will not take any action against him. Sri Lanka banned players for two years for breaching the bio bubble in England and Indian cricket board will not do anything about it is strange. It is their decision on what to do with the players but still, no punishment what so ever for infecting others is bullshit. Is anyone watching the Olympics? Brandon Starc may get a medal in high jump. He is the younger brother of Mitchell Starc.
I am not following the Olympics but if the younger brother of Mitchell Starc is that talented it is great to hear and one medal for Australia.

The situation is highly unpredictable nothing is stable for this virus. Those countries that were reporting a decline in cases have again started reporting an increase. The worst is that players are also not cooperating with the authorities. If these tournament does happen in the coming months then ICC, as well as BCCI both, have to be very strict with Bio bubble.
If they were strict with the bio-bubble, then this situation would have never happened in the first place. The BCCI lacks a spine to reign in on their players. I thought that they would be more careful, after they suffered huge losses due to the postponement of the IPL. But I was wrong. The same mistake is being repeated. The IPL is set to be resumed next month, and I am sure that once again we are going to witness a string of bio-bubble breaches. The same will happen with the T20 world cup as well. The players behave as they wish and there is no one to control them. BCCI has to learn from its past mistakes unfortunately, they are not. What kind of professionalism do these players have who have got infected due to the virus. They are not playing charity match but an International match where they are representing their country. I am not sure about T20 because ICC will be handing it but, I am pretty sure more such cases will happen during the IPL.

A few weeks ago, Deepak Hooda announced that he was quitting the Baroda team. During the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, he had a well publicized spat with Krunal (who was captaining the Baroda side). Hooda complained to the Baroda management, but they stood with Krunal. The BCCI is even refusing to allow an investigation to find out how Krunal got infected inside the bio-bubble. Their reaction would have been different, if it was some lesser known guy, such as Gaikwad or Rana.

In the previous IPL, we saw that the players did not follow the hygiene rules, many of them were infected with the coronavirus. And the IPL was postponed. Even in the Sri Lanka series, the Indian players did not follow the hygiene rules. How do players get infected with corona while in bio-bubble? If the players do not follow the hygiene rules then there is no benefit in spending extra money for the bio bubble of the boards. Players who break the rules should be punished.

What happened in the IPL was partly due to the fault of BCCI was well. After Varun Chakravarthy exited the bio-bubble, they allowed him to re-enter without any quarantine requirement. And he infected at least a dozen others inside the bubble. What happened was that the IPL management had asked KKR to put Varun in quarantine for one week. But KKR refused and since the KKR owner was very influential, the BCCI granted an exemption to Varun (the same happened with PSL as well, with the Peshawar Zalmi).

The government spends crores of rupees to create the bubble, but it keeps happening and it always happens to the right person. It's strange that no rule will apply to a particular team. Krunal Pandya is in my prayers, but if there is no investigation, how can we be sure no further incidents will occur to any of the other members? BCCI took a completely wrong move.

It is not the government, but the cricket board (SLCB in this case, and BCCI during the IPL), which sets up bio-bubbles. So the losses will be incurred by them. That doesn't mean that the government will not lose any revenue. The tax revenue will be lost in case a tournament is called off. The decision by the BCCI to move remainder of the IPL to UAE cost the Indian government tens of millions of USD in tax revenue. At this time, both the boards and the players need to understand that just one mistake from their part can result in huge losses for everyone.

Players are also reluctant to bio bubble. So now the BCCI should punish the players who break the rules so that no one breaks the rules in the future.

No signs of any warning or any punishment and by the way what is the situation in India right now.

No wonder there is no serious measure by the BCCI for breaching the bio bubble, having a political connection will go a long way to get away with things and may be get selected in teams without much issues with their connections. No wonder why Hardik Pandey was included in some of the tours even though he was injured, i am just speculating now about the whole situation .

And when it comes to Krunal Pandya, I don't understand why he's in the team. There are a lot of promising youngsters who are not getting any opportunity to represent India, but these two seems to be permanent fixtures in the national team. The selection policy is a sham. No one is complaining right now, because India has performed exceptionally well in the recent past and we don't want to change the status quo.

BCCI have more talented player than Hardik and Krunal. Hardik and Krunal are good players, but since they have not been able to help the national team win matches for a long time, the BCCI should keep them out of the team for a few series. Let them work hard, if they can build themselves up, they will get a chance in the Indian team again. When India has enough talented players, there is no point in giving a chance to a formless player for a long time.

True. Even if they are the best players available, the main purpose of the series with Sri Lanka was to give more opportunities for the youngsters. And I really don't know why Hardik kept playing, despite not fully recovering from the injury. Was he paranoid that someone else will steal his slot from the national squad? If that is the case, then his thinking is wrong. Good players don't lose their slots, even if they stay away from the game for a couple of months. Anyway, now the T20 series is finished and only the test series with England remains before the IPL.

By postponing the tour, English players can compete in the IPL tournament when it resumes on September 19. The 100 is going on and they are getting more exposure and they might be thinking that the IPL will be giving them the required practice before the World Cup, not sure what their schedule is but they need to play matches as a team before going into the World Cup if they want to be competitive.

I assume it is due to the pandemic as cases are increasing in Bangladesh too. IPL has been shifted from India to UAE where the cases are very few. Australia and England are cancelling matches because of the Pandemic issue in south asian countries. IPL will also help English players to prepare for the upcoming T20 world cup.

Initially the England players were saying that they will not be participating in the second phase of the IPL. I guess they changed their mind now. In an economic sense, it is ridiculous not to participate in the IPL, since the salaries are 5-10 times of what they get in any other league. Also, the full strength England side is not needed to achieve a series win against Bangladesh. Given their current form, Bangladesh is no match for England. They even struggled to defeat Zimbabwe a few weeks ago.

England tour of Bangladesh has been postponed indefinitely, but they have scheduled to play three ODIs against Bangladesh as part of the ICC ODI Super League. By postponing the tour, English players can compete in the IPL tournament when it resumes on September 19. The English players will have the opportunity to practice their skills in this franchise tournament instead of the international tournament.
I think if England sends a second-tier team against Bangladesh, they will win. The Bangladesh team is not in a good position now. Moreover, playing in the IPL is more effective than playing a series against a team like Bangladesh before the next T20 World Cup. The series against Bangladesh will be one-sided, on the other hand, they will get a lot of money in IPL and also get a chance to play with all the best players in the world.

England has the depth in player pool, so they don't need to worry much about the unavailability of the key players. And Bangladesh is not in a good state right now, due to internal issues. We don't have the exact schedule available yet, but it looks like the series between England and Bangladesh (3 T20I matches and 3 ODI matches) will be played after the T20 World Cup. The term used by the ECB is "postponed indefinitely". And it is not just because of the IPL. The COVID 19 situation in Bangladesh also might have contributed.
