Close to million peeps watching at hotstar, i'm sure numbers are very much high but still i won't say everyone is every excited about this u19 team. i watched few games but if i'm being completely honest i'm not expecting any positive or any super star emerging from this touny for Indian team (1-2 might make into IPL but that's it). I hope i'm dead wrong as far as Indian perspective is concern.

PS: Baby de villiers seems excellent prospect for saffa tho.

Agreed, here not only the Indian team every team progress isn't that big. Through out the entire tournament I find Afghanistan team to be getting stronger with time. This means it is good for the next set of players for the country. From tough condition Afghanistan is doing the best and all the matches they lost were also very close. If Afghanistan team gets better support, surely they'll improve themselves in the upcoming tournaments.

Obviously home tours for Afghanistan is a myth, even though India has given a few of their grounds to Afghanistan as their home grounds and I am sure UAE is always available as a venue for them just like Pakistan uses it.

I don't foresee any national teams touring Afghanistan in the near future. Maybe Pakistan may agree to a few matches in Kabul or Jalalabad in the distant future if the situation remains relatively calm. But for the other countries, Afghanistan is a strict no-go zone and specifically so after the Taliban takeover. Staging matches in India and UAE may be convenient for the cricket board, but it is very expensive. They need to pay hefty amounts to the BCCI or the Emirates Cricket Board. And a relatively small board like Afghanistan cant afford these huge expenses.

Is it? I thought the payment they will make can be covered up with the ticketing and telecast revenues because anyways everyone has to pay the match fees to organize any match in the stadium, I thought these boards might also have to pay the same fees the only difference would be that they might have to get approval from the central board of that country. BCCI is always sympathetic towards the Afghanistan team, or at least they were until the US-established government was there in Afghanistan. I heard BCCI even made some stadiums for the Afghan cricket team in India:

Indian U19 team has won the cup with a great finishing. And it was meant to be. Although the match was full of excitement. I think England U19 has lost the match for their bad start. They would have won the match if the top orders batsman played with more patience and responsibility. However, there is nothing much to expect from youngsters.

On the other hand, Indian main team will play against West Indies tomorrow. Betting odds is fully in favour of India. Although India hasn't done well in ODI matches since 2020, but I think they are going to win the first ODI match.

Finally India under 19 won the match against England, i expected England to bat much better than they did in the match and the teams batting second were finding it hard to bat but India won without much trouble and won yet another under 19 world cup so their pool of young talents are increasing. The other i was impressed is Afghanistan and if they are groomed properly they will be a handful in the national team in the next two years.

On the other hand, Indian main team will play against West Indies tomorrow. Betting odds is fully in favour of India. Although India hasn't done well in ODI matches since 2020, but I think they are going to win the first ODI match.

In papers India are the favorite by a huge mile, but who knows what the match situation would be, i am not planning to place a bet, might do after seeing the first 15 overs.

Yes India won by 4 wickets but they were always in command.There is so much young talent in India. We will have to see who among these players we see in the main Indian team in the upcoming years.

Congrats to India for winning 5th U19 WC. The final was dominated by Indian bowling and England were struggling from very start. Its correct to say that match was one sided. Thanks to both James partnership, England avoided humiliation. Price money is good and will encourage both player's and staff.

The win could have been easier for the Indians because England started badly but still managed to make a decent score of 189. This gave England something to bowl at but indian team was too good for them. Also one interesting thing in the match was that the last two balls of the match were the consecutive sixes by Dinesh Bana. What a good way to win a World Cup final.

Wow, thank you so much for sharing this information. My knowledge about cricket has gone reasonably up since I started posting here. Good luck for team India for there 1000 ODI encounter. India has recently lost ODI series against SA while WI Lost to Ireland. India IMO has edge over WI.

May be they thought they are playing the IPL or the T20  .Now their 8th wicket partnership between Jason Holder and Fabian Allen is showing the top order how they can handle the situation, if not the match would have been over earlier. So the first match was an easy win for India and it was not even a struggle and any score West Indies make from this situation, India will easily chase them.

Right now Jason Holder and Fabian Allen are giving the best to score good runs. 129/7 in 33 overs. Both were the top scorers of the match for West Indies. If one of the wicket have fallen earlier West Indies might've struggled to reach 100 runs. West Indies is kind of a team that gives unexpected performance as well as loss matches in a very worst manner. Taking the home ground advantage India might've chosen to bowl first.

Since the Chinese are dominant in many sports and therefore we will see that they would win the world cups after getting training from Pakistan.
