There were plenty of surprises last week. Even if the results in the games that were expected to be won or lost were accurate, the games themselves were far closer than most had anticipated and that is why the Premier League is the best football league in the world.

Arsenal had a huge setback with the defeat at Bournemouth. The reason why Brentford lost their 0-1 half time lead was because Manchester United came on the pitch determined to win the game and they played very well. The volley by Garnacho was brilliant. Also Aston Villa are remaining in the top contenders to try to finish in a Champions League spot with a significant win at Fulham.

Brighton deserve recognition after their win at Newcastle United and I think Nottingham Forest have surprised everybody this season for being a very difficult team to beat.

Lawl...  Would've loved to see Brenford take a point at Old Trafford.    I didn't watch the match but looking at the fixture's timeline it looks like they could've gotten it after making the first goal at the end of first half.  Lolol.  Ten Hag lives to fight another say.    

And tough loss for Arsenal as they're playing Liverpool this weekend.  What do you guys think..?  Are Arteta's boys gonna play their heart out and get all three points?

When it comes to a team that has championship mentality flowing through the club, they should never settle for a draw because a couple of key players were missing. The moment commentators start mentioning a draw, it means the club probably should not be taken seriously within a select group that could win the Premier League.

There is no doubt Arsenal pushed Manchester City last season and could repeat it again this season but when Liverpool are being talked about as beating them because two players will be missing, it shows they have a long way to go before ever winning the Premier League under Arteta. Keeping that aside, I expect Liverpool to win that game even it is a home game for Arsenal.

Without Saka and Saliba I doubt they would get a positive result against in-form Liverpool. A draw would be a positive result for them anyway.

Arsenal are just unlucky, rewatch the clip of Saliba fouls and also that of Colwill and I didn't see any difference although the time of the foul could've been the deciding factor for both scenarios, having a different penalty.

I feel if the foul hasn't been that early in the game. Colwill would have gotten a red too. The injuries crisis at Arsenal isn't helping matters too but I hope Arteta has a plan to bring back the spirit of winning the league this season.

I was disappointed that we (Chelsea) lost to Liverpool. We played well but that's not what matter, it's the 3 points that's the real deal and we didn't get that. Overall it was lovely match day filled with all types of drama that makes the premier league the best league, can't wait for what this weekend games will offer.

I watched quite a lot of the Manchester United vs Brentford game but was unable watch any of the Arsenal defeat at Bournemouth. I have yet to watch the highlights to understand what happened beyond what I read about it. As for Liverpool, they had home advantage but Chelsea were on very good form themselves and you would have thought the scoreline would have reflected it. That is Premier League football

Liverpool are pussies, a full available Arsenal team should beat them comfortably, they were lucky to have gotten a win over Chelsea as they weren't convincing. I'm only backing them against Arsenal for reasons stated above.

Liverpool and Over 1.5 is tempting but BTS & O2.5 is more safer, it's going to be a goal galore - better to place a neutral bet.

For Arsenal, it will probably be a case of a point being better than nothing but Liverpool will believe they can take all three points. The best games usually take place when both teams have their best eleven in the starting line up. If one team is at full strength but the other team has key players out (with suspension or injury), it creates an imbalance most fans would prefer was not there.

I understand that teams should not rely on a single player or a group of players to win games, but you should also understand that managers build their games around certain players. Glad to see JollyGood sticking to the winning team aka Liverpool  . Arsenal haven't been greatly since the start pf the season and the games they won, they did so out of pure struggle.

Brighton have been brilliant this season. I am really excited about how the season could turn out for both Brighton and Nottingham Forest as they push for a top four position at the end of this year. Whether they make it or whether they drift away at the end of the season, they have already brought a new feel to the Premier League which is dominated by a handful of big clubs.

Yeah...  I'm gonna be betting Max Holloway to win at R4 at 28.00 and at R5 at 35.00.  Gonna put 10 bucks each.  Lol.    And if I win, I'm gonna bet the proceeds to the BTTS and over 2.5 goals combo for whatever the line is right now but not anything lower than 1.80.  That prolly goes over 500 bucks.  Enough to play poker with at Stake to kill the time while waiting for these matches to start.

I haven't been able to watch Brighton games this season. What do you think about Ferdi, who transferred to Brighton from Fenerbahce? As far as I can see, he is not playing well enough yet, but I think he has a lot of potential.

If that were to happen, I think it could be part of the reason for a Crystal Palace win but keep in mind they have home advantage too. Also, I think Tottenham go from having a win followed a loss or draw around the same time therefore their inconsistency could cost them if they were up against a Crystal Palace team that was desperate for points.

If I were to guess, I would say it will be a tight game with a 1-0 or 2-1 scoreline.

Obviously, we already kicked things off with the win in the conference league and hopefully we take that heat to Stamford bridge against Newcastle. Though we mightn't be using the same starting eleven but we should retain some players that can build on their performance and replicate same against Newcastle.

We (Chelsea) aren't that much in form at home, wish this was an away game so we can perform as we always do in away games but I still see us winning. Wolves haven't won any game yet, could this be the week they get their hands on 3 points? Let see how the week plays out. Here are my prediction.

Leicester City 1-3 Nottingham Forest

There were over 31,000 fans inside the stadium expecting Leicester City to win the game but Nottingham Forest move up to 5th in the table with a brilliant win. That means Nottingham Forest have a fantastic record of W4 D4 L1 and that is after they were battling relegation last season.

I just believed Southampton are too weak to pull that off against Manchester City, who are chasing the park (Liverpool). If it was Leicester City or any other mid-table team, it may work, but not with Southampton. This is going to be a bloodshed.

As the teams that face them try to exploit their weakness because Rodri will be absent for the rest of the season, eventually they will drop points and that could pave the way for Liverpool and Arsenal to challenge each other to become champions. If you are right, Southampton could be facing a very heavy defeat and it could add to the goal difference for Manchester City.

Mmm...  I feel like it's impossible for the regs in the football threads to not know about the Majestic 7.  Lol.  I blame Trofo for not telling you since you guys have been talking a lot in hilarious' EPL pool.  Lolol. 

Anyway, it's just a free weekly game that FJ has and you guess 7 goal scorers from 7 matched and the guy who guesses all 7 right gets 10k USD.  If you guess 5 and 6 goal scorers you get 25 and 50 bucks free bets respectively.  But yeah...  Go to FJ's thread, I post my picks there almost every week for shts and gigs.

I agree, Arsenal are not in a comfortable position to win that match and it is down to some of their first choice players being unavailable. I have to disagree with about the second comment you made about Liverpool would not stand a chance against a first choice starting eleven for Arsenal. I have been surprised at how good Liverpool have ben playing considering they have a new manager (evn though they are playing with the same players as last season in the Klopp era).

I will try to watch some of that game tomorrow, hopefully it will be good.
